Facebook Offers is a social media marketing feature that allows brands to promote coupons, discounts and deals to customers, ultimately to help convert more leads. Through enticing deals and discounts, this feature expands brand reach and improves revenue. There are three types of offer for admins to choose from:
- In-Store only offers: Customers who claim in-store offers get a barcode or QR code sent through email. They can access it on their phone or print it.
- Online only offers: This gives online customers a code and sends them to your ecommerce site to shop.
- Combination offers: Some companies combine their online and offline campaigns by allowing customers to redeem deals both ways.
How Do Facebook Offers Work?
Facebook offers are coupons exclusively created and shared on Facebook. Admins create offers on their page and Facebook users claim them for their next purchase. Offers act like page posts, living on the company’s Facebook wall. You can also pay to promote your offer through Facebook ads.
A Facebook offer gives companies a chance to engage with potential customers. Everyone loves an opportunity to save some cash. Offers help organizations to:
- Reach new people: Connect with existing customers and acquire new ones.

How to Create Facebook Offers

- Go to your Facebook page and choose “Offers” on the left-hand side.
- Click the “Create Offer” button.
- Input important information about your offer. For instance, cover when the offer expires, where it’s available and outline any terms and conditions. Remember to add an image and catchy headline, just like with a standard Facebook post.
- If your deal is online, add an URL for redemption.
- Click “Publish” button.

Here’s a quick and dirty tip to help you find discount codes for your online purchases!
Tell me this hasn’t happened to you: You see an ad for a product in your social feeds. You see it again and again and again (especially if you went to its Facebook page or Instagram profile or website, all of which are options for retargeting digital ads). You finally decide you’re ready to buy… and all of a sudden, the ads with the discount codes are nowhere to be found.
Did you know there’s a really easy way to find discount codes quickly and easily without having to wait for those ads to reappear in your feed?
This week, after months of seeing Pony-O Hair Accessories ads in my feed, I decided it was finally time to give them a try. I checked Rakuten (referral link), which is always my first stop when I’m shopping online, but Pony-O isn’t part of their program, which tends to include more traditional retailers and few of the newer direct-to-social-media brands.
Once upon a time, my next stop would have been Retail Me Not, but my success with their discount codes is really inconsistent. Sometimes they’ll have a dozen different codes listed, none of which actually work. Who’s got time for that?
Fortunately, there’s a much quicker and easier way to find current coupon codes.
Here’s how I use Facebook’s Page Transparency tools to find discount codes when I’m trying out a new brand.
1. Find the company’s Facebook page.
These ads are always in my feed… until I’m ready to order.This step is easy enough: Use the search bar to find the Facebook page for the company you want to shop with. Ignore their #engagingcontent and check out the right column of the page, which is where Facebook keeps all the boring information that you don’t usually look at.
2. Locate the Page Transparency panel.
Look for the “Page Transparency” box on the right side of the page.Scroll down until you find the “Page Transparency” box, then select “See More.”
Here you can find all kinds of information about the page.Page Transparency is a feature Facebook introduced to give users a way to learn more about the pages they’re following. It tells you how long a page has been around, whether its name has been changed, who manages it, whether it’s ever been merged with another page, where it’s managed from, and — most critically for our interests — what ads it’s running.
3. Go to the Ad Library.
Scroll down to the ads section and look for the “Go to Ad Library” link.At the bottom of that Page Transparency window, you’ll find a box that says “Ads From This Page.” Select the “Go to Ad Library” link.
Here you’ll find information and creative for every ad a page is running.Facebook ads are targeted to specific audiences using information you’ve given the platform (age, location, interests, relationships, birthday) and information it’s gathered from your behavior (things you’ve liked, websites you’ve visited, purchases you’ve made). Usually you won’t see ads that aren’t targeted to people who fit your profile, but in Ads Library, you can find all the ads a page is running at any given time.
4. Look for discount codes.
All this transparency has an unintended benefit for shoppers: It makes it very easy to find discount codes that are current and valid.
Browse ad creative to look for current discount codes.I simply scrolled Pony-O’s Ad Library until I saw a discount code to apply to my order.
5. Save money.
Does it work? You tell me:

A few caveats:
- In general, I still find that the best way to shop with valid coupon codes is through Rakuten. But there are a lot of newer companies that don’t participate in the cash back platforms and focus on direct-to-consumer marketing through social media. This is a great way to find their current offers or go back and locate an ad that you scrolled past in your feed.
- Just because anyone can find the codes doesn’t mean everyone can use them. If there are any restrictions on that code, they still apply — so if there’s a minimum purchase or you have to be a first-time customer, etc., know that your code will still be subject to those rules.
- Not every ad displays a discount code, but that doesn’t mean there’s no savings to be had. If an ad promises a deal, follow the link in the ad, which has been set up to direct to the specific deal being promoted.
- Not every ad offers a discount! Sometimes you’ll scroll through the Ad Library and there won’t be any special offers. That’s life.

How to create a Facebook offer on your page
Facebook offers is a feature of Facebook that allows administrators and editors of Facebook pages to offer discounts to their fans. Offers can help businesses attract more customers or encourage existing customers to visit stores.
When fans see your proposal, they can like it, comment, or save it for later. Depending on your fan notification settings, those who save your offer may receive up to three reminder notifications before it expires.
Facebook Offer Types
There are three different types of Facebook Ads you can create on your page:
- Store Only: These offers are valid in store only. For redemption, customers submit an offer either in hard copy (via email) or by displaying it on their mobile device.
- Online only: This offer can only be used online, through the company's website or through another online platform.
- In-store and online: You can select both options for Facebook offers so that they can be used by shoppers both online and in-store.
How to create a Facebook offer
The following steps will guide you through the process of creating an offer from your Facebook.com page in a web browser.
Facebook offers are only available for sharing on Facebook pages, not on individual user profiles.

Go to Facebook, log in to your account if necessary, and go to your page.

In the left vertical column of your page, select Offers .

Choose Create offer .

Select the type of offer you want to create ( In-Store , total , online only or in store and online ).
For in-store offers, if a user has access to their Facebook location and they have saved an active offer, they will be notified when they are in close proximity to the store.

Enter your offer data in the appropriate fields. Select the desired discount type from the drop-down list. Then provide additional information (such as an explanation for the offer), add an additional photo, set an expiration date, and provide an address where fans can redeem the offer (if it's in a store). Finally, choose a button type and provide additional information if you like.
If you are offering an online agreement, you must provide a URL where people can take full advantage of the offer.

Click Schedule offer, to select the start date and time for your offer. Then press Schedule .
You cannot edit an offer once it has been published.
How users request a Facebook offer
When potential customers see your offer on Facebook, they will need to follow these simple steps to get it:

On Facebook, search for the offer post on your page, or select Offers in the Overview section in the left vertical column to find it.
In the Facebook mobile app, click menu icon > Learn more > Offers .

Select an offer to view its details.

If there is a promo code, copy it and read the instructions on how to use it (online or in store). If not, users can call, send a message, or visit the location to take advantage of the offer.
Tips and more information about Facebook offers
- Limit the number of users for your offer. This can be done in field Total available offers when creating an offer.
- Make your discounts substantial - if your offer is for a discount, do it at least 20% off the regular price. According to Facebook, offering "free" items on top of a purchase usually works better than discounts.
- Keep it simple - make sure you define and explain your terms as simply as you can. Also avoid unnecessary steps for clients.
- Use a clear and attractive image. When you select a photo, remember that those representing someone using your product or service will benefit more than a photo of just that item. Also note that your page's profile picture will appear next to your offer in most places, so make sure you don't use the same photo for both.
- Keep your tongue natural and direct - Make sure your headline grabs attention, but also don't add too much confusion. Your headline should reflect your company's value proposition, not a slogan without any substance.
- Set a reasonable expiration date - time is of the essence. Make sure you leave enough time for your customers to see your offer and get it. This is a great way to get involved in word of mouth marketing; leave time for clients to talk and write about your offer.
- Promote your offer . A great way to promote your offer is to pin it to the top of the page. Facebook encourages you to share existing offers rather than creating new ones so you can easily track their reach.
- Train your staff - Make sure your staff understands the terms of your offer and how customers can use it.
- Use photo of . The best option is to use a photo of your product or people using your product or service.
- Enhance offer - turn it into an advertisement to attract its attention to a wide audience.

How to find out who didn't friend you on Facebook*

Some of your Facebook friend requests* may go unanswered. How to find out who did not add you as a friend, and how to send a second request - we tell in detail.
Facebook* is the most versatile social network. In it you can find a business contact, establish a connection with a stranger, indulge in nostalgia with people from the distant past. It turns out like LinkedIn, VKontakte and Odnoklassniki combined. Potential partners, current colleagues, childhood friends are all here, all under one roof. It remains only to formally confirm friendship.
And so you sent out offers, but no friends were added:
- Someone decided that there was enough work for today and deleted all the notifications on the phone in one fell swoop.
- Someone succumbed to the autumn blues, identified an introvert in himself and wanted to be alone.
- Someone looked at the strange photograph and did not recognize the familiar facial features in it.
I agree, sounds a little naive. Most likely, the person simply did not consider it necessary to reciprocate. Is it really? Send the offer again to understand for sure. And here you have to strain well, remembering all the people to whom you offered friendship. If you are not sure about your memory, follow the simple instructions.
How to find out who didn't want to be friends with you
Click on the "Friend Requests" icon in the top bar of Facebook*. Click on the "View All" link.
You will be directed to a profile page of people you may know. In addition to the recommendations themselves, an inconspicuous link "View submitted requests" is hidden here. It is something that interests us - let's move on.
The window that opens will introduce you to all the people who for some reason did not respond to your friend request. Hover over the "Request Sent" button to display a drop-down menu with the "Cancel Request" option.
Now you can resend the invitation and the person will see it in the notification bar.
Why can't you send a second request
And now the fun part. The instruction above applies only to cases where the contact received your friend offer, but missed it or ignored it. In doing so, he could delete the request and then mark the offer as spam.
Empirically established:
- If a person deleted a request, then you can find out about it only by indirect evidence. Go to the profile of the contact you are interested in and note that there is simply no "Add to friends" button. You tried, but you were rejected. You can send a private message and resolve the misunderstanding in it.
- If a person deletes a request and also marks it as unwanted, your options on Facebook* may be limited. More precisely, you will not be able to add friends: both the “complainer” himself, and anyone else at all. How many complaints should there be and how long the ban lasts - the certificate does not provide such information. I do not want to experiment in search of answers somehow. :)
In this case, in both cases, the contact will not be displayed in the "Sent friend requests" window and you will not be able to knock again. And probably not worth it.
