With millions of daily users around the world, WhatsApp is one of the most popular communication apps around. And while it's mostly known for its group chats, its voice calling feature is just as important.
WhatsApp lets you make free voice calls to your contacts. This is an especially useful feature if your contacts live overseas, as it saves you from the expensive international calling fees that would normally make these calls unaffordable.
Here's how to make a call on WhatsApp — either to a single person, or to a group.
Quick tip: This article is specifically about voice calls. If you want to make video calls on WhatsApp, the app has that feature too.
How to make a call on WhatsApp to a single person
To make a WhatsApp call, you'll need to be connected to the internet. Luckily, you can use either Wi-Fi or a mobile 4G/LTE connection.
1. Open WhatsApp and in the Chats section, tap the conversation with the person that you want to call. If you don't already have a conversation open with them, you'll have to start one.
2. In the upper-right corner of the conversation screen tap the call icon, which looks like a phone. WhatsApp will dial their number, and if they answer, you'll be connected on a call.

1. Open WhatsApp and call someone using the same steps outlined above.
2. Once you're in the call, tap the Add Participant icon, which looks like a small figure with a "+" sign in the upper-right corner of the screen.

WhatsApp call is not displayed. What to do
WhatsApp calls have long replaced my usual phone conversations. Calling here is much more convenient: you don't have to worry about deducted minutes, and the amount of traffic consumed is so low that you can talk for at least three hours. Just yesterday I ran into one problem: whatsapp call is not showing up on lock screen. The call itself goes on, the ringtone plays as it should, but the call cannot be accepted. I started to figure it out and stuck in the settings for several hours. Today I propose to understand all the reasons for this trouble and discuss the details.

- 4 WhatsApp data saving mode. What is it? Here are some of them:
- An old version of the application is installed on the smartphone.
- Disabled notifications in phone settings.
- Power saving mode enabled.
- Incorrect date and time.
- Wi-Fi or cellular problems.
- Data saving mode in WhatsApp itself.
- Any Bluetooth accessories are connected to the smartphone.
Now in order. First, check the date and time. Perhaps they are installed incorrectly on your smartphone. If children were playing with a smartphone, it is possible that little pranksters deliberately twisted the time in order to get a daily prize in some game.
Turn off the power saving mode on your smartphone. This can help.
Next, check if the power saving mode is enabled. Often we set it on the machine, and then completely forget. You can turn it off in the control panel by swiping down from the top. Do not ignore such simple nuances. In my case, the problem was hidden at this stage.
How to check for app updates on Android
Next, you need to check for updates for WhatsApp . You can do this as follows:
- Go to Google Play.
- Write whatsapp in the search bar.
- Go to the page of the application itself.
- Check if there is an Update button here.

How to turn on notifications in WhatsApp
Then you need to check if notifications are enabled on your smartphone. With WhatsApp, this is especially true. Everyone in life has had cases when one of the contacts literally filled up with messages and you completely turned off all notifications in the Settings.
To enable notifications in WhatsApp , follow the instructions:
- Open your smartphone's Settings.
- Next, go to Notifications (Notifications and Control Center).
- Next Application notifications.
- Scroll through the list and find WhatsApp.
- Turn on the toggle switches next to Show notifications and Allow notifications on the lock screen.

WhatsApp data saving mode. What it is
WhatsApp save data mode allows you to compress all files, including photos, documents, GIFs and emoticons, to save your data as much as possible.
Yes, saving data will allow you to save more Internet traffic, but it often causes problems with communication and receiving notifications. If you are faced with the fact that WhatsApp calls do not reach you, I recommend disabling this setting in the application.
To disable data saving in WhatsApp , you need:
- Open WhatsApp on your smartphone.
- Click on the three dots in the upper right corner.
- Go to Application settings.
- Next Data and storage.
- Then turn off the toggle switch opposite the Data saving item.
Try turning off WhatsApp data saver. Perhaps this will help.
If none of the above work, try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular. If your calls come when connected to a cellular network and do not come through Wi-Fi, your cellular operator will help you. If the situation is exactly the opposite, contact your Internet provider.
5 apps that will make WhatsApp much cooler.
Honestly, if I had my way, I would have switched to Telegram long ago. The messenger from Pavel Durov is an order of magnitude more functional than its counterparts, but for some reason users do not like it. If it weren’t for the notorious “Write me WhatsApp, I don’t know how to use Telega,” I would have given up on it a long time ago.

Files and folders that cannot be deleted from an Android smartphone
An Android smartphone can always be optimized manually: all you need to do is to get into the depths of the file system and remove hundreds of unnecessary files. The main thing is to do it carefully and not get carried away, otherwise the smartphone will start to slow down or simply turn into a brick. When talking on WhatsApp what status is displayed
The popular WhatsApp messenger unites many people. For a large audience, it is the main means of communication; family, friendship or business contacts are made in it. The messenger won with its reliability, stability, as well as accessibility and cross-platform. Today, this application is one of the world leaders and confidently competes with such powerful counterparts as Telegram and Viber.
Like any modern messenger, it offers its users not only the functions of chatting, but also calls, including those using a video camera. In this article we will consider one of the questions regarding calls. Namely, when you talk on the WhatsApp application, what kind of status do we display for other users? Let's figure it out.
Content
- When talking on WhatsApp, is online status visible or not?
- Is it possible to make it so that no one is shown when I was online in WhatsApp
- The status of messages in the WhatsApp messenger
- The first method is through the application settings:
- Video instruction
A question that torments many. And checking it yourself is not very easy and inconvenient. For you, we tested WhatsApp calls and the answer to the question is this: when you call via messenger, your status is offline. To be more precise, the status line of the user who is currently on a call will indicate the last online time.
In our research on this issue, we have dug deeper and can share more detailed results with you. Let's say if you call some contact in WhatsApp, then your status will naturally be online all the time while you are looking for this contact in your messenger list, open it, and until you press the call button. Then you go offline, and other contacts will see that you were last online at the time you pressed the call button.
Another case: for example, if your application is currently closed, you are offline, and another contact will call you. You answer and the conversation starts. What will be your status then? It will also be offline, and the last online time will be indicated when you last opened the application. In this case, an incoming call and pressing the answer button will not make you online.
The developers did the right thing by giving offline status to the user who calls on WhatsApp. After all, during a conversation, no one will be able to read and respond to the incoming message. And the sender will think why it is not read if the user is online.
All of the above applies to both regular voice calls and video calls. This is also true for all platforms, including when calling through a computer and the web version.

Can I make it so that no one is shown when I was online on WhatsApp
WhatsApp has quite a lot of privacy options. In particular, you can control whether it will be visible when you were last online or not.
To try this feature, do the following:
- At the top right, click on the three dots to enter the menu.
- Then click "Settings".
- Go to the "Account" section.
- And open the "Privacy" section here.
- Click on the "Been" option.
- And choose who can see when you were last online - everyone, just your contacts, or no one.
If you choose not to let anyone see your last seen time, nothing will appear under your name in your contact list while you are offline ( otherwise it displays the time of the last online ).
At the same time, if you go online, the status will be updated to "Online".
In the WhatsApp settings, it is impossible to make the status "Online" not displayed either.
We figured out the status of the profile: it can be of two types: online and offline (that is, it was online at such and such a time), and realized that when you call WhatsApp, the profile acquires offline status. If you are having long conversations on the messenger, then it is important to know what the rest of your contacts see at that moment.
Whatsapp also has the concept of message status. It will also be useful to learn about it in order to understand what other contacts see during correspondence with one or another of your behavior in the messenger.
Message status can be of three types and marked with checkmarks:
Statuses: Explanation: The message was not sent. Icon in the form of a clock, this happens when there is a bad or no connection. Message sent. One tick. Message received. Two gray ticks. Message read. Two blue ticks. Thus, both you and your interlocutor can judge the status of sent messages while chatting.
In some cases it may be necessary to make it so that contacts cannot see whether you have read the message or not. There are two ways to do this.
The first method is through the application settings:
- Click on the three dots at the top right.
