So, no later than on Monday, my wife contacted me with a question about how to remove WhatsApp from the phone, since after switching to a much more convenient Telegram, she practically does not use that messenger, and in the light of the above events, she saw in this is a good reason to reduce the number of "extra" applications on the phone.

I also have a problem, you say. My first reaction was exactly the same thought that I expressed - with a long tap you hold the messenger icon and select the “delete” item in the context menu that appears. Everything, you are great.

After these words, they looked at me reproachfully. This was the first thing that was tried without my advice, and did not give any results - the messenger was in its place.

Well, the next logical step was to go into the phone settings, find the “applications” item, find WhatsApp in the list of applications and delete it by pressing the appropriate button.

In response to my next "smart" suggestion, I received another sarcastically skeptical smile and an offer to try this great advice myself.

Well, it's said and done. Tried. And, as you probably guessed, nothing happened. After clicking on "delete" nothing happened. Generally.

Now it was my turn to be surprised. However, previous experience suggested that the matter was most likely in a specific device on which a minor software failure occurred, which means that it is necessary to try a method that is trouble-free in such cases - to restart the phone. There is no sense, WhatsApp is still not deleted.

And the most interesting thing is that another application, chosen at random, was perfectly deleted.

The most correct method of solving a problem is sequential diagnostics from simple to complex, so the next logical step was to find out if the problem was in the application or in the phone.

To do this, I tried to remove WhatsApp from my phone. And I didn't succeed. The symptoms are exactly the same - zero reaction both to deletion with a long tap and through the settings.

There is only one painless way left - deletion through the application store.

And here success awaited me, both on my wife's phone and on my own. The application allowed itself to be deleted and disappeared from the phone menu.

It should be noted that neither my wife nor my wife had WhatsApp installed by default in the firmware by the manufacturer, and therefore it was not a system one, so it is impossible to attribute the impossibility of deletion to this reason.

But I wouldn't be myself if I didn't decide to experiment.
