With so many different social media websites, each of which requires a unique account, keeping track of all of your login information can be troublesome. However, it is possible to link different Internet accounts to streamline the way you access each of these different accounts. Facebook and Yahoo!, two of the larger websites for social media, allow users to link accounts by entering their sign-in credentials.
Linking your Facebook account to Yahoo! reduces the number of logins that a user must complete to access both accounts. When your Facebook account is linked to your Yahoo! account, logging into Yahoo! logs you into Facebook at the same time. This can also help you keep track of multiple online accounts without having to remember as much password information. Once accounts are linked and you're logged into Yahoo!, you can open Facebook in another browser window or access some Facebook information directly through your Yahoo! account.
Linking your Facebook and Yahoo! accounts also lets you synchronize email contact information for your contacts in both Facebook and Yahoo!. After linking accounts, you can select Facebook from the "Import Contacts" page of your Yahoo! email account. This will import email contact information found on your Facebook friends' pages to your contact list on Yahoo!. Yahoo! deletes duplicate email contact information to keep your Yahoo! contact list from getting cluttered with redundant information.
To link your Facebook and Yahoo! accounts, start by signing into your Yahoo!! account. Once signed in, click the "My Yahoo!" link at the top of the page. Make sure that the tab titled "My Main Tab" is selected. Near the top of that tab, click the button titled "Add Content." Under the box in the right margin titled "Browse Content," select the option titled "My Yahoo! Essentials." Select the option "Add Facebook" from the page that appears.
Sign into Facebook when it asks for your account credentials. A dialog box will appear asking you to let My Yahoo! access your Facebook information; select the button titled "Allow."
You can also link Facebook with other types of online accounts, such as Gmail or your Google account. When you link your Facebook account to any other online account, you can access Facebook without having to sign in separately. You can also link a Google account to Yahoo! so that signing into one lets you access the other; you can also synchronize your email contacts between Gmail and Yahoo! by linking those accounts.

Yahoo has a very pretty and functional homepage since a few months now.
The page features an improved interface and the ability to add and view custom sections making it suitable to be used as a start page.
A number of modules are listed on the left side that can be personalized the way you like. By default, if you are not logged in, the page guesses your location and presents information that may be relevant to you. In India, it shows Cricket and Bollywood news up top in addition to other useful links.
Once you are logged in you can call the page "My Yahoo" because it show you customized content that you might have configured or from whatever it knows about you. The layout of the page is clean, easy to use and makes it a really good choice for a start page for your browser.
Let's see how you can configure it to suit you and add your Facebook and other social networks on Yahoo.
Yahoo! realizes that Facebook is the most popular social network and makes things easy for you by providing a module for you to use Facebook on Yahoo.
Hover over it and you can configure it to work with your Facebook account. My Yahoo would then pull in the required feeds from Facebook and also allows you to interact with it.
Next time you hover on the Facebook link on your Yahoo page, you will be shown updates from your Facebook. This is the view that you will see:
You can now check status updates of your Facebook friends, comment on their statuses, update your own status and do almost all those cheeky things you do on Facebook.
Removing Facebook From Yahoo! What goes up shall come down. This is especially important (though not apparent at first) when deciding to use a web application. You might love the way the Yahoo! webpage looks and works today, however you cannot be certain that it will always stay the same way. So you should always plan your escape route first before committing personal information to anybody on the web. You don't want to be locked down into using a product just because you have all your data/personal information with them. If a site seems like it functions this way, you should seriously reconsider what you are committing to.
In our present scenario though, both Yahoo! and Facebook provide a way to dust off your hands and walk away (you might want to read the Privacy Policies for more details though). To remove Facebook from My Yahoo! you can either click on Options > Settings from the Facebook overview on the Yahoo page.
Or you can unauthorize Yahoo! from accessing your Facebook data from within Facebook. In fact this works with all the applications you use in Facebook or any third party tools that you may be using to interact with Facebook.
To do so, click on Account and then on Application Settings. You will then see applications that you have used with your account. You can then Edit Settings for each application which controls the permissions granted to the application. Or you can click on the cross sign next to the application to remove it from accessing your account altogether.
In addition to Facebook there are many other modules that you can configure and use on the Yahoo homepage.
It displays the default modules according to your location but you can find additional modules not listed there in by clicking on the "Add +" button.
What are your favorite applications for Facebook? What different modules do you use on your My Yahoo page? Share them with us in the comments.

In a narrow sense, IMAP connects to your mail provider's server and is used to receive mail, while SMTP is used to send mail to other servers.
IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is a protocol that ensures that your mail provider stores all your messages and directories on their own servers. That is why, whether you use the application on a computer or in a browser, you can always connect to your mail and view all the letters that you receive, because your provider is obliged to keep them on their servers.
STMP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is a protocol for sending email from your mailbox to others. This protocol allows a mail application to connect to your ISP's servers to send mail, especially to send your mail to other servers.

Yes. Mailbird uses IMAP or POP3 to connect to most email providers. In addition, Mailbird uses technologies that allow you to detect server settings automatically, you just need to enter your email address.
If Mailbird cannot detect server settings, you can manually configure mail by entering your provider's server details such as IMAP or POP3 Port and IMAP or POP3 Security.
You also need to enter a username and password to access your e-mail.

You can think of 'port' as an address number. Just as an IP address determines the location of a computer, a port determines the application running on the computer.
There are a few common port numbers, always use the recommended settings to configure your email server to Mailbird.

If it is important for you to save space on your computer, or you are concerned about the safety of letters, then it is better to choose IMAP. This means that your emails will be stored on your ISP's servers.
POP3 will download all emails to your computer and store them locally on your computer before deleting them from the server. This will free up space on the server, but if something happens to your computer, you won't be able to recover the emails.
Read this article to learn more about their differences and features.

We are currently working on making a copy of Mailbird for Mac devices! Unfortunately, this means that, at the moment, Mailbird is not available for owners of Apple devices. If you'd like to be the first to know when Mailbird will be available for Mac users, click here.

If your old emails are still available on your account, they will be automatically downloaded. The IMAP protocol synchronizes your messages and directories with information stored on your ISP's servers, making it possible to manage your mail on every computer connected to your mail.
As soon as you add a Yahoo.com account to Mailbird, you will have access to all your mail instantly.
Important: If you store your mail on a local server, you will not be able to import them using the IMAP protocol.

Although Yahoo.com has a proprietary login page for most email clients, you can make the process more secure by creating a password for external applications.
You'll find a button to create one in the "Security" tab of your Yahoo.com account settings. Use this password to sign in to the app of your choice. For more guidance, please read our article: How to Generate a Password for External Applications on Yahoo.com.

Do you need your Facebook contacts? Now it's possible! A little trick allows you to export Facebook contacts via Yahoo Mail - it can be exported to an Excel file.
Exporting contacts can help you for many purposes, of course, if you use it legally.
If your Facebook contacts are also your target audience, this can be great if you want to offer them additional services or use them to target audience ads such as Google Adwords, Facebook sponsored, LinkedIn ads and more.
This guide will help you understand step by step how to export your contacts to Excel by importing and exporting via Yahoo! Mail. A quick note: you can't export the emails of users who Like or Follow your Facebook business page, but we do have an article on creating a Facebook business page.
Is Yahoo Mail Closed? No. The company was acquired by Verizon and became part of the group of companies, Yahoo Mail still exists and provides email services to consumers. Certainly not as Gmail, but email is still active.

Now, you need to log into your Yahoo email. If you don't have one, create a new account for free. To enter an email, enter your browser or click on this link: mail.yahoo.com.
Once you have logged into Yahoo Mail or registered and then logged in, go to your Yahoo contact list (your list is probably empty if this is a new account or an unused account) . To do this, click the Contacts icon below the Yahoo logo (highlighted in the following image).
Then you will have a button and you can import your Facebook contacts into email.
When you click the "Import" button, a new window will open and you will need to enter your Facebook account details. Enter them and connect.
Yahoo will then request access to your Facebook account in order to import your Facebook contact list into your email address.
If you agree, click OK.
At this point the panel will close and Yahoo email will start importing your contacts - at this time you can use email or wait a few minutes for the contact list to arrive, this may take several minutes depending on the size of the contact list.
The next step is to copy the contacts imported from Facebook and already in the Yahoo email. It's important to note that there are Chrome browser plugins that allow you to do this, but we can't recommend them, so we'll do it differently.
You can't export your contacts directly via an Excel file, so the method has to manually copy the contacts (if you want to call it that).
By the way, if you haven't seen your contact list for several minutes, reload the page.
When your contacts are on the side, and if you have more than 500 contacts, go to the last contact (usually contact 500) and click on it, wait a few minutes, and you will see that more than 500 contacts have been added.
Now select them all by the checkbox above them. In the center you will see an option to send mail to everyone, click on this solution. Don't worry, you don't have to send mail to everyone.
When you click this button, you will be taken to a page where you can send emails to everyone. But we are interested in the contact list, so on this page, click on the user box and select everyone. The fastest and best method to select them is to press CTRL+A (on Windows computers). Then copy them CTRL + C
Once you have selected all of them, open a text editor on your computer (Notepad) and paste all the warnings.
The next step is to transfer the email to an Excel file. There is a reason why not paste directly into Excel, but through the Notepad text editor.
Now that you have entered your contact list in Notepad, they will be in the form
This should be done using the Find and Replace command, press CTRL + H when you are in a text editor.
