Examples of each register are shown below.
You can also change the style in the application settings. To do this, select the “More” item and click on the desired set style.

Application for writing in WhatsApp in different colors
If you can change the text style in the messenger, then it is quite natural to ask how to write in WhatsApp with different colors. We want to say right away that it is impossible to make multi-colored font letters, but no one forbids sending a message using the special TextArt application:0009
We go into the application - We write the text in the orange line - Ok - Change color (you can choose colors not only for letters, but also for the background) - Send to Whatsapp - Select a recipient - Send.
This message, which was created in the TextArt app, will be delivered to WhatsApp as an image with text written in colored letters.
How to create a color status in Whatsapp
To do this, you need to update the application for version 2.17.307 and more. There, go to the status settings, you will see a picture, choose its shade and enter your font. Next, at the bottom left, you need to click on the word "Publish". With a stable Internet connection, after a couple of seconds, friends from the contact book will be able to see the updated status.
WhatsApp font options
Built-in messenger features allow you to type messages in bold, italic, strikethrough, and monospace, as well as set font sizes.
This means that your interlocutor can receive a message from you, the letters of which will be designed in this way. Do not want to be like everyone else, and there is a task to interest the recipient of the message? Format the text and enjoy the result.
Option 1: Monospace Font
Considering the possibilities for changing the appearance of the text sent through any version of WhatsApp (for Android, iOS and Windows) messages, let's start with the most rarely used messenger by users - writing fragments or the entire message in a monospaced font. As a result of applying this design, a rather interesting effect is obtained - the outline of signs and symbols becomes the same width. Actions that involve achieving the specified result allow you to study simple formatting algorithms for texts sent via WhatsApp.
Method 1: Special character
- In the messenger, write a message to the text of which you want to apply formatting.
- Place the cursor at the beginning of the monospaced fragment of the message and enter the character "apostrophe" three times -
'''
. - Next, go to the end of the character set you are formatting and type
'''
again. - In the same way as described above, use three apostrophes to highlight other fragments of the message that should be written in a different font than the standard one.
- Send a message - in a moment you and your interlocutor will be able to evaluate the result of the manipulations performed in your messengers.
Method 2: Context menu
In addition to entering special characters to indicate that a piece of text should be formatted, you can change the font appearance of a message sent via WhatsApp using the context menu. Despite the fact that it is more convenient, such a technique can only be used by iPhone users without reservations - what is shown below is not implemented in the messenger on a computer, and, moreover, the interface element involved in the following instruction is not available in all versions of the Android OS.
- Write but do not send a message to WhatsApp. Select the piece of text to which you want to apply formatting.
- After setting the "highlighting" in relation to the set of characters from the message generated for sending, the messenger will automatically display the context menu. Further:
- If you use WhatsApp on iPhone, scroll through the list of options, click on "BIU" . Then, scrolling down the list again, select "Monospace" .
- In the Android environment, in the context menu, click on the three dots, scroll through the opened list of possible actions, find "MONOTWIDE" and click on the name of this option
- Change the font of other pieces of text, if necessary, and then initiate the sending of the message.
How to copy and paste text in WhatsApp
The quoting method is not always justified. If your message is large, and you only need to forward some part of it, it is more convenient to use the copy function.
To copy and paste text in WhatsApp, you need:
- Select the desired part of the message by holding your finger on it.
- Correct what is to be copied. Make sure that all the necessary words are highlighted in dark.
- Touch "Copy".
- Open a conversation where you want to send part of the text.
- Press and hold your finger in the message entry window until the menu appears.
- Select the "Paste" command.
- Format the entry if necessary and send it.
The algorithm is also suitable for copying information from websites, from other applications or personal notes on the same device.
Developer font
WhatsApp also has an additional font FixedSys , which is traditionally used by developers. It is also not in the messenger settings and the inclusion of such a style of writing is not obvious.
Text you plan to write in this font
, must be enclosed in back single quotes " ```
" (without quotes). You can find them on the iOS keyboard like this:
1. Tap on the "123" key.
2. Press and hold the single quote (near the BackSpace key).
3. Select the leftmost quote from the pop-up key menu that appears.
Three such quotes must be specified at the beginning of the text and three at the end. After sending, the font of the message will be very different from the standard one. Optionally, you can add a combination of three quotes to iOS 9 autocorrect0013 Settings -> General -> Keyboard -> Text Replacement .
In this simple way, you can diversify your WhatsApp correspondence a little using hidden formatting and the FixedSys font.
How to write strikethrough in WhatsApp
One of the standard font types set by developers is strikethrough. It is needed, for example, to give emotionality to the message.
You can cross out a word in correspondence in 2 simple ways:
- highlight with symbols;
- use command.
To cross out a sentence, simply put a tilde before the beginning and at the end. It looks like this - "~".
To use the command, you need:
- Dial a message.
- Select the desired part of it and hold your finger on it for a few seconds.
- Click on 3 dots.
- Select the item "Strikethrough".
After sending, the written will take on the desired form.
How to make a bold font in WhatsApp
The scheme for using this type of text formatting is no different from the previous one. You can use the character code "*".
In order to activate the command, you need:
- After typing the message, highlight the whole word or sentence.
- Hold your finger on it.
- Click on 3 dots.
- Select Bold.
Option 5: Underline
It will not work to make the font in the message sent via WhatsApp underlined by the messenger, that is, using the formatting methods described above in this material - this possibility is not provided by the developers. However, having set out to underline this or that fragment of the message or its entire text, it is still possible to achieve a more or less acceptable result if you turn to one of the specialized Internet services.
How to write in italics
Italics can also be written using symbols, in this case you need to use the underscore - "_".
To select writing in italics through the internal settings of the program, select the text, in the window that appears, press 3 dots and then the item with the appropriate name.
How to write in different fonts
Another secret of the messenger is the ability to use several types of design at once. For example, you can make bold italic and strike through it.
It is easy to do this both on smartphones on Android and on iPhone. You only need to know the selection symbols.
To use multiple designs at the same time:
- Write a message.
- Highlight the area you want on 2 sides with an asterisk for bold, an underline for italics or a tilde for strikethrough.
After all the manipulations, the text in the message box may look like ~_*Like this~_*. The order of the characters is not important.
How to quote
The ability to quote allows you to refer to the messages of your interlocutor or show which one you are responding to at the moment. A useful feature helps out not only in personal correspondence, but also in a group chat.
To use a quote:
- Click on the message you want to quote.
- Hold your finger on it until the edit menu appears at the top.
- Click on the left arrow to attach the quote to your message when you reply, or click on the right arrow to forward the text to another conversation.
- Write a response and send it in the standard way.
It is also possible to forward a message to the chat where it is already contained. This will duplicate the quote without your comment.
How to make reversed text
This formatting can be used to surprise friends or create an air of mystery in a promotional email. For example, a secret promotional code will look more spectacular when written like this.
Flipping text in WhatsApp is easy, despite the fact that this feature is not built into the application itself.
To do this:
- Download and open the Upside Down app. It doesn't matter if it's on Android, iPhone or PC.
- Enter a message in the left window.
- Click the "Convert" button.
- Copy the result and paste it into the correspondence in the application.
Option 6: Combining effects
Techniques that involve changing the font of the text of WhatsApp messages can be applied to the same piece of text in more than one person. That is, it is possible to design a word, phrase, sentence or the entire message transmitted through the messenger, for example, in bold and at the same time strikethrough, italic and underlined font, applying effects in turn. An exception here is a monospace font - the set of letters and characters selected by it cannot be additionally converted.
Tip: If you need to use underlining, you should (more conveniently) implement it first in the messenger, before using the other types of message text formatting available in WhatsApp.
Translate a text message to Vostap
The algorithm is the same, but let's try with a phone:
-
- Chatting;
- Open the link assistant;
- We write a word, sentences, our thoughts and then copy;
4. Open the correspondence, paste the text and send;
Mirror a message in Whatsapp
This transformation will not take you much time:
1. Go to the site of our assistant;
2. Write a message, copy;
3. We return to our dialogue. Then we send and voila ... your interlocutor sees and cannot understand how to turn the text over;
How else can you change the style
In the messenger, with the help of some special programs, you can change the appearance of characters more dramatically than just underlined, bold, italic or developer type. You can type a message with different-looking letters in WhatsApp using an online service, for example, Messletters. ru, or other similar applications. But, such special programs are convenient only if you send messages from a PC or laptop. In such a special application, it is possible not only to change the style of what is written, but also to make the text look like this:
- wavy;
- mirror;
- striped;
- add different shapes, symbols, more.
Using another program, it is possible to choose the color of the writing, one of such developments is TextArt. But, you need to take into account that the messenger itself does not provide such an opportunity. Therefore, when using such a color-changing special program, the message will be non-character. In such applications, the typed is converted into a picture and an image is sent to the recipient, in which all characters will become the color that was selected by the user.
Attention!
The message is first written in a special program that changes color, then sent to WhatsApp, the addressee is selected and the picture created by the application is sent.
However, for those who have an Iphone, there is a special application that helps to change the color scheme of the characters typed before sending. The name of such a special program is “Your color messages”. For phones with the Android system, after entering the desired text, only changing the style settings and color display of the background of the message sent to the addressee is available.
There is no option in WhatsApp to completely change the basic character style. But directly in the messenger there are certain combinations of characters that help make the typed a little different - bold, underlined or italic. Also, the user can replace the standard characters with the style of the developer. But, in order to change the color of signs or a radical change in their shape, it is necessary to use other special programs that are not originally associated with the messenger.

Selecting text in WhatsApp using symbols
It is not always possible to change the font format with a command. For example, in the browser or computer version of the application, such a function is not provided, but it is available on any of the smartphone platforms.
Types of characters and included emphasis:
- * – bold;
- _ - italics;
- ~ - strikethrough;
To change the text in this way, it is enough to put the necessary signs on both sides of the sentence or to highlight the desired part of the message with them.
Instructions on how to do it on a smartphone in the application itself
Using the step-by-step instructions just once, you will understand how to change the font in WhatsApp quickly and without any complicated manipulations:
Open the WhatsApp application - In chats or from the contact list, select the person to whom we want to send a message with a changed font - Type text - Select the area that you want to format - Click on the three vertical dots - Select the font (Bold, Italic, Strikethrough , Monospaced) - Send.
Write text in WhatsApp
Select the text we need
Make the text bold
Please note that changing the font can be applied not only to the entire text, but also to individual words. Moreover, you can choose italics for one word, bold letters for another, apply strikethrough for the rest.
Changing the font in WhatsApp is allowed on Android devices and iPhones.
Ability to write in different fonts in the messenger on PC and laptop
Unfortunately, the desktop version of WhatsApp does not allow you to write in different fonts. It is possible that this feature will someday appear for computer users, but in 2019Formatting text in WhatsApp is not possible.
