Page Contents
Instagram has become a very popular social media platform. It is used by people of all ages and backgrounds. Some people use it to share photos of their lives, while others use it to follow their favorite celebrities.
One of the latest trends is creating fan pages on Instagram for celebrities or brands. Creating an Instagram fan page is a great way to show your admiration and a fun way to connect with other brand or celebrity fans and increase brand awareness.
These pages are filled with pictures and videos of the celebrity, as well as fan art and comments from other fans. Some celebrities have even started to follow their own fan pages.
In this article, you’ll learn how to start a fan page on Instagram step by step.
What Are Fan Pages Good For?Instagram is one of the biggest social media platforms, with approximately 1 billion monthly active base users. Fan pages on Instagram also comprise a large number of these users.
People use fan pages to share their love and endorsement for a certain celebrity or otherwise a renowned influencer. You could utilize a fan page to create useful trivia content or promote merchandise related to a celebrity, promoting your own business as well. They can also be used to gather feedback from customers and to promote special offers.
By creating a fan page and growing it rapidly on Instagram and other social media, you get the opportunity to influence lots of other dedicated fans. You have an instant common interest: the celebrity or brand you’re both endorsing.
7 Steps To Create A Fan Page On InstagramMany popular fan pages on Instagram also partner up with the associated celebrity, work on spectacular projects, and introduce new lines of products.
Others simply share fun facts, gossip, trivia, or news about the target celebrity.
Here’s how to make your own Instagram fan page for your desired celebrity or brand.
1. Determine your fan page’s subject matterBefore you can create an IG fan page, you should find your fan page idea and determine what your fan page is going to be all about. Common examples include:
- A celebrity or influencer
- A topic (e.g., a type of animal)
- A belief (e.g., a religious or philosophical party)
If you’re planning on sharing photos and media on your page, it’s recommended to gather a few photos, videos, edits, etc., to populate the account before you sign up. Also, consider what filter or effect you want to use across your content and have it ready.

Now, the first thing you evidently need to do is download Instagram from the iOS App Store or Google Play Store. As soon as you open up the app, it brings you to the sign-in / sign-up page, where you can log in to your existing account or create a new one. In this case, we’re looking to initiate a fan account, so go ahead and tap “Sign Up.”
You can sign up with Facebook, Google, phone number, and email. It’s generally considered safer to make your account standalone so that it isn’t connected to any other service so that if the security of your associated login account were compromised, it wouldn’t breach your Instagram account’s security.
Better safe than sorry, right?
2.
Download an appropriate profile pictureIf you already don’t have a profile picture available for your fan page, download an appropriate picture for your avatar. A good portrait of that celebrity will suffice if you’re endorsing a celebrity. Choose an appropriate picture of what that ideology represents for your fan account ideas, concepts, and religious/philosophical movements. A political party’s logo associated with that belief would be an adequate example.
3.
Fill out the information fieldsHooray! You have just made your Instagram fan page public. But your work isn’t done here yet. Head over to the profile tab and tap settings from the right-hand menu. You should be able to access your profile settings and information within that area. There are many fields and information to be filled in.
Make the text in the “Name” column a reference to what your fan account is about. In your biography or “bio,” for short, try to be as concisely clear as possible, explaining what your fan account endorses and what it does. You don’t have to design a neat-looking bio immediately; for now, write something that your fandom relates to. You can always change this part later.
4. Switch to a business profile (optional)You can skip this step if you don’t deem it fit, but we highly recommend switching to a business profile. A business profile could help you easily track your account status, follower activity, marketing information, influence, and other various insights you will definitely find useful when promoting your fanbase. It’s all free, offered by Instagram itself, and there is no catch.
5. Post your first contentAfter setting up everything, you’re eventually ready to make your first post public on your fan page on Instagram. It’s always a good idea to start with a friendly introduction and a brief explanation of your page’s purpose.
Choose a proper image or video, usually a main photo of the subject matter and an appropriate caption. Tag the main account of the celebrity or the organization you’re supporting in the post using the “Tag” button.
Before posting the content, skip two spaces down from your typed caption. That’s where you will write your hashtags.
Using hashtags is crucial if you want to be discovered by your fandom and other fan pages on Instagram. All hashtags should be directly related to your fandom. For instance, if I’m running a Lady Gaga fan account, I would write the hashtags “#LadyGaga #LittleMonster #JustDance #ARTPOP #Chromatica” and so on.
Sometimes, other accounts share the hashtags in the comments section instead of the captions. This makes your post look a bit neater and finding hashtags easier. You could, however, opt to include the hashtags in the post captions instead.
6. Reach outCongrats! You’ve made your first post. That’s where things get a bit trickier.
You’d ideally want your account to be seen. You could achieve this by following other fan accounts, liking their photos, commenting on their posts, and being an active member of your fan community.
You will notice if you click on one of the related hashtags in your posts, you are led to a place where you can browse all posts with the same tag. You’re automatically brought to the “Top” tab, where you can first see the most influential posts with the same hashtag. Try finding your target fan pages on Instagram using this method and the “Discover” tab.
Now that you’ve found some accounts with the same interests follow them and start interacting with them. You’ll notice some of them start to follow back and interact reciprocally. This lets the other page’s followers see your profile in their suggested accounts list and start following you.
You shouldn’t follow back every account that follows you, though, if you’re looking to keep your follower-to-following ratio high enough for an influencer profile. There isn’t a protocol to this, but you generally wouldn’t want to follow back personal profiles and individual people. Still, you’d ideally want to follow back as many fan accounts and influencers related to your cause as possible.
7. Don’t solicit for followers/likesWhile prevailing in fan communities and micro influencer profiles, it’s generally not a brilliant idea to comment “follow for follow” and “like for like” on other fan accounts’ posts since it makes you look desperate for followers and likes, which is definitely not something you’d want.
Things to remember:
- Do not forget to post regularly. Post consistently at least once daily to achieve consistent results.
- Only post content relevant to your fandom. People who follow a fan account for a certain cause wouldn’t expect to see unrelated content by that account.
- Be an active follower. Like and comment on the posts in your feed posted by other related fan accounts. Try not to be identified as what is called a “ghost follower.”
- Do not self-promote. You are better than that.
- If you have opted to switch to a business profile, check your stats and follower activity regularly.
- Use hashtags regularly.
We hope this instructive guideline for making a fan page on Instagram helps you as your fan page grows. It could be intimidating initially, but once you get the hang of the basics, it’s easy to handle the rest.
Do Insta fan pages earn money?
Yes, Instagram fan pages can earn money. For brands, it’s a great way to get more exposure, and for individuals, it’s a way to make some extra cash. There are a few ways to monetize your page, but the most common is through sponsored posts. This means that you agree to post about a certain product or service in return for money. You can also make money by selling ad space on your page or by becoming an affiliate for a brand.
How can I create a fan page?
1- Determine your fan page’s subject matter
2- Download an appropriate profile picture
3- Fill out the information field
4- Switch to a business profile
5- Post your first content
6- Reach out
7- Don’t solicit for like and followers
A Guide to Creating a Successful Fan Account on Instagram
Instagram is one of the largest social media platforms today, with an active user base of approximately 800 million. Fanpages comprise a large portion of those users. As a person who has owned multiple fan accounts on Instagram before, I have been through the process of creating a new account and making it grow over and over and over. Every step of setting up a new fan account is imprinted in my head at this point, so why not put that knowledge to good use and help you ease into the online fandom community?
Guide to Creating a Successful Fan Account on Instagram:
Step 1
Make sure you know what/who your fan account is going to be about, and what kind of content you want to post on there. If you plan on using a filter in your posts or following a certain theme, I would gather at least a few photos, videos, edits, etc. that you want to post and figure out what filter/theme you are going to use before you make your account.
Now, evidently, the first thing you want to do is download Instagram from the App Store, Play Store, or wherever you go to download applications.
It brings you to a sign-in/sign-up page as soon as you open the app. If you are creating a brand new account, you will want to click "Sign Up."
Choose what you would prefer to sign up with (Facebook, phone number, or email). I would suggest signing up with your phone number and email address, just for extra security. Better safe than sorry.
Click "Sign Up With Phone or Email" and answer every question.
Step 2
Once you arrive to your homepage, go to your profile and fill out the information fields. Make the text in the "Name" column a reference to what your fan account is about.
In your biography, try to be as clear as you can be on what/who you are supporting. You do not have to design a neat-looking biography immediately; write something that relates to your fandom for the time being. You can always change it later.
You can skip this part if you want, but I want to make a suggestion based on my personal preference: I would switch the fan account to a business profile. I have done this with most of my fan accounts because I like keeping track of my follower activity. If you want to keep an eye on your account statistics, then I would highly recommend switching to a business profile.
Next, you will want to set a profile picture. I would suggest making the picture related to your fandom in some way so that other fan accounts can discover you easily.
Step 3
After setting up your profile picture, you should be ready to make your first post on the fan account. When it comes to my very first post, I like to add a friendly introduction and briefly explain the purpose of my page.
Now, before you post it, skip two spaces down from your typed caption. There you will write hashtags. Using hashtags is extremely important if you want other fan accounts to discover you. All hashtags should be related to your fandom. For example, if I were starting an American Horror Story fan account, I would write hashtags that relate to the show, i.e. "#AmericanHorrorStory #AHS #AmericanHorrorStoryFX #AHSFX" and so on.
When I finish writing hashtags, what I usually do is select all of the hashtags I wrote, copy them, and then delete them out of my caption. After you upload your first post, you can paste the hashtags you had copied into the "Comments" section. I find this much easier than keeping the hashtags in my captions because it looks more organized and not as crowded. If you would rather keep them in your caption, however, that is completely fine.
Step 4
Congratulations! You have made your first post.
Now, here is where things get a little trickier...
You are going to reach out to fellow fan accounts and follow them. What I do is click on one of the hashtags I put in my post––I'll use the American Horror Story example again, and click on #AHSFX. Whichever hashtag you clicked on should lead you to a place to browse all posts with that same tag.
You are automatically brought to the "Top" section. Click on the "Recent" section. The posts you see now are the most recent posts with that tag; you are only going to focus on these right now. Click on one of the posts. If it was posted by a fellow fan account, then you will want to like the post so they will see your interaction in their notifications, and maybe be prompted to follow you.
In my experience with owning a fan account, when I liked a recent post under a certain hashtag, whoever's post I liked would usually follow me. If another fan account does that to you, follow them back. If it is a personal, non-fandom account, do not follow them back. Try to only focus on following other members of your fandom right now.
Continue going through the recent posts and liking anything that relates to your fandom. Again, comment as you go along if you can. Other fan accounts will see your comment, which will increase your chances of getting discovered.
[NOTE: Do not be one of those fan accounts who comments "follow for follow" or "like for like" on other peoples' posts. Self-promotions are very irritating, and doing them will give you a reputation of being desperate for followers/likes. You do not want that, I promise you.]
Step 5
Once you have liked a handful of posts, I would click the heart symbol at the bottom menu and refresh in the "You" tab. Remember: If any fellow fan accounts start following you, follow back. Do not follow back if it is a personal account. Also, if a fan account likes your post without following you, like one of their posts in return if you have not already.
If you have any new activity from another fan account, stay in the "You" tab. If not, go back to the hashtag page and then the "Recents" tab again.
If you are the former, click on their profile, follow them, and then stay on their account. Click the "Following" tab on their profile and scroll through the list of accounts they follow.
What you want to understand here is that the bigger a fan account is, the less likely they are to follow back. So, if you come across a fan account and see how small the ratio of people they follow is to the people who follow them, do not follow them first. But if they follow you first, then definitely follow them back.
[NOTE: The most followers I have ever had on an Instagram fan account was over eight-thousand and, as terrible as this may sound, I rarely followed smaller accounts back. I would follow if I liked the content they were posting, but other than that, hardly ever.]
Continue scrolling through their "Following" list and clicking on profiles. If you stumble upon fan accounts that have a smaller following and seem to follow most people back, follow them first.
When you finish going through the list, click on a random fan account from there and delve into their followings as well. I suggest proceeding with this pattern for a little while (be sure to check your notifications frequently).
Step 6
I have a rule in which I only follow 50 people maximum on my first day, just so I do not go overboard with who I follow. You will want to pay attention to the pages you are currently following, and reassure them that they are a fan account.
If you hit the fifty mark, I would recommend waiting to follow anyone else until the next day.
If you want to, you can browse through the recent posts under your fandom's hashtags again and leave more likes and comments.
Step 7
Before you exit Instagram for the day, I would highly recommend making a second post. Talking from experience, I know some people are hesitant to follow back when you only have one post because they think you have given up already.
Repeat Steps 3 and 4.
Step 8
After you have uploaded your second post, check the "You" tab one more time, and then close out of the app if you wish.
You have completed your first day of owning an Instagram fan account!
Things to Remember:
- Do not forget to post! Try to post consistently at least once a day (I would suggest more).
- Only post content that is related to your fandom. Posting anything unrelated is the best way to lose followers.
- Be an active follower; like and comment on the posts in your feed. Do not be a ghost follower!
- Do not self-promote. You are better than that.
- Check statistics regularly if you switched to a business profile (profile visits, reaches, impressions, etc.).
- USE HASHTAGS IN EVERY POST!
I hope this "instruction manual" comes in handy as your fan account grows. I know it can be intimidating at first, but once you get the basics over-with, you will be just fine. It is not as scary as you may think.
Good luck!

advertising (if desired, both options can be combined). Some users create fan pages for the purpose of further selling, others - to gain experience in SMM promotion. nine0003
When creating an Instagram fan page, it's important to note that there is no guarantee that you won't get blocked later. At any time, strangers or the star herself can complain about you for copyright infringement. To minimize the risks, we advise you to coordinate the creation of an official fan account with a celebrity. It is also better to take photos and videos from open sources, but remake them, making them unique (create collages, add stickers). The alternative is to copy content from the official page, indicating that this is a fan account. nine0003
You can add .fan, _fanpage, _love, _my_dream to your page name. Be sure to indicate in the header that this is a fan account, you can also write down the catchphrase of the star.
What to post on the fan page on Instagram
Let's move on to the most interesting: what exactly to post in the feed and stories.
Here is a list of ideas among which you will definitely find suitable ones - put them in your content plan.
- Interesting facts about the idol. They are easy to find in the media, on the official website of the star or find out directly. nine0010
- News about the artist/blogger. We are talking about information about both creativity and personal life.
- Comics. This is a great solution to increase the engagement of followers. But here it is important to take into account several nuances. First, you must be good at drawing or you should hire a designer. Secondly, you need to generate interesting, but relevant content that will not receive complaints.
- Modified videos. Now the video format is at the peak of popularity. Post small cuts of interviews, celebrity performances on Instagram, adding interesting features to the montage, for example, slow-mo or sepia. nine0010
- Memes. By being creative, there is a chance to get a lot of likes, comments and reposts.
- Your thoughts on events. Feel free to share your own opinion about the change of image, a new recorded song or other events in the life of an idol.
- Stories. Storytelling, as before, shows good conversion results. Compose so-called fanfiction about the star. The main thing is that your audience understands that the stories are fictitious.

Promotion of a fan account on Instagram
Features of fan page promotion are mostly the same as in other cases.
- Test different types and formats of content by monitoring the reactions of your subscribers. Post original, compelling content regularly.
- Collect a pool of relevant hashtags with different frequencies and indicate them under the posts. 7-15 topic tags under each post will be enough. nine0010
- Tell about your fan account on other platforms: forums, websites and social networks. This will help you increase your traffic flow.
- Use mass following, mass liking, mass commenting - it's easy to do in SocialKit. The only thing - do not exceed the limits and observe timeouts. This way you will avoid pessimization and profile blocking for suspicious activity.
- Collaborate with other fan pages to exchange audiences. nine0010
- Order ads from bloggers with a similar target audience. But before starting cooperation, be sure to check the candidate’s profile for cheating and draw up a detailed terms of reference.
Conclusion
