Facebook Stories are the disappearing content feature for the network that last only 24 hours on users’ feeds, similar to Instagram or Snapchat Stories. Similar to Instagram, they have a highly visible placement near the top of the desktop or mobile app’s newsfeed, and are a great way to capture immediate audience attention.

Facebook Carousel Ads are a perfect way to showcase your brand with multiple images or videos. Carousel ads are a kind of advertising format that combines multiple videos or images that users can scroll through into a single ad placement. It’s great for brands and business that want to:

The release of Facebook Instant Article ads allows quick-loading, mobile optimized content through Facebook’s app. Additionally, advertisers have the option to place ads within the articles as well. If you’re looking to advertise to users on other valuable spaces, but through Facebook, this format is perfect for you. Facebook Audience Network ads work natively, on banners and interstitial ads. Whether it’s pre- or mid-roll placements, it’s nice knowing your content will appear on trusted publishers. Think of this as Facebook’s own Display Ads. Did you have a prospective customer interact with you on Facebook Messenger, but they didn’t convert? While it’s only available in Facebook Feeds, this ad type allows a cover photo or video (both available on Collection ads) to showcase several products. Additionally, when users click the full-screen version, users are sent to an Instant Experience (formerly called Canvas). Here, users are brought to a scrollable mobile engagement experience to learn more about a brand.

  • Collections ads use the first image or video in asset from your Instant Experience

  • Image size: 1080 x 1080 pixels.
  • Aspect ratio: 1:1.
  • Body text: 125 characters.
  • Title: 40 characters.
  • Description: 30 characters.

Use the recommended image size so that no pixels are visible on the image. The recommended text length is the number of characters of advertising text that fits on small screens. Text may appear truncated on some platforms and devices.

Video

  • File type: MP4 or MOV.
  • Duration: up to 15 seconds.
  • Aspect ratio: 4:5.
  • Video: H.264 compression standard, high profile preferred, square pixels, fixed frame rate, progressive scan.
  • Body text: 125 characters.
  • Title: 40 characters.

A video of this length is recommended so that as many people as possible can watch it in its entirety. The allowed video length on Facebook is up to 240 minutes. People are more likely to prefer watching a short video.

Instagram lead ad design guidelines

Your lead ad must meet the following specifications to run on Instagram.
