Which Disney Are You? How To Use The Hot New Instagram Filter

If you're interested in giving the hot new which Disney character are you Instagram Stories filter a spin, then here is how to find and use it.

If you haven’t heard yet, there’s a new Disney-themed Instagram effect filter doing the rounds. Disney has been trending consistently in recent weeks thanks to the launch of the Disney+ streaming service and The Mandolorian’s star attraction, Baby Yoda. However, this time the Disney brand is a social media hit thanks to an independent Instagram effect that’s now available.

Disney+ launched in the U.S. on November 12 and although it is packed with content, it also opened the doors to the Disney vault making available the whole back catalog of classic Disney movies with on-demand access to all of the popular Disney characters. Speaking of which, if you’ve always more identified with Hercules than Jafar or Hades than Ursula, then this might be the Instagram filter for you.

The “Which Disney?” Instagram effect was created by Arno Partissimo and is a very simple to use feature with an even simpler premise. The user fires up the effect, hits the button and after a brief pause, is assigned a Disney character. Presumably, one the feature deems most like the user although the results appear to be more random than scientific - so don’t be too surprised (or upset) if you end up with the genie instead of Elsa. In either case, if you want to get started with the "Which Disney" Instagram filter, here’s how to find and use the effect.

First, make sure you have the latest version of the Instagram app installed on your smartphone. If all is good and updated, then the easiest way to give the feature a try is to tap on the search icon in the bottom navigation row. Once the search interface opens up, tap the search bar at the top and start searching for Partissimo’s profile by entering either the full name or just the surname. Once the @arnopartissimo profile appears, tapping on the profile takes you through to Partissimo’s main Instagram page. Mid-way down the page there’s a row of icons and tapping on the third (face) icon will launch the various Instagram effects Partissimo has created to date. The Which Disney filter should be fairly near the top.

Once you’ve found the right filter tap on it and Partissimo’s video will start showing you how it works and what you can expect. At the bottom of the screen there’s a “Try It” button and tapping this will open your camera and let you test out the feature for yourself. If you want to repeatedly play with the effect then tap on the three-dot (hamburger) menu icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen to bring up additional information about the filter. Here, you’ll see the “Save Effect” button so the filter can be saved for later. Alternatively, just tap on the save icon to the left of the three-dot menu and the effect will automatically be saved. From then on, whenever you launch the Instagram camera, the Disney filter will be there alongside the other filter and effects options. All there’s left to do now is find out which Disney character you are.

    Which cartoon character do you look like and which Disney character represents you the most? You can find out thanks to Instagram's new mask feature.

    Since August 2019, the Instagram app allows users to insert new AR (augmented reality) face effects. Among the many options for masks, there is one unusual one associated with the characters of Disney fairy tales. All user-uploaded effects and masks are available from the Instagram Stories section.

    How to find a mask on Instagram

    Until a few months ago, the choice was only between filters that allow you to change the colors of images in stories, and some masks offered by Instagram.

    But since the company has opened up space for free user creativity, you can get creative and add your own filters.

    Michael Kors has created a special mask for users to try on glasses from the new collection.

    If you need a new one, go to the library, where the most popular and cool effects are collected in sections. And among the proposals, one stands out related to the images of Disney.

    To recognize your character and add it to Instagram Stories, you need to follow two step-by-step procedures. Here is a small guide on how to do it.

    Disney Character on Instagram: From Another User's Stories

    The first way to find out what kind of Disney character you are is to use the same effect you saw in another story. If you viewed (less than 24 hours ago) a story that used the desired effect, review it again and follow the procedure below.

    To use the mask in stories, click on the name of the effect that appears just below the username. In a nutshell, you need to click on the phrase "Which Disney?", that is, the name of the feature, followed by the name of its author.

    At this point, a pop-up window will open that will allow you to:

    • try the effect immediately,
    • save it and make it available when you want to create a new story,
    • send it to another user,
    • perform other actions, for example, to search for other effects by the same author.

    To try it now to record a new story, click on the first item in the "Try it" menu. The front camera will open and you can find out which Disney character you are and share it on your Instagram story.

    Discover a Disney character on Instagram

    As mentioned, Instagram now allows users to create and post a variety of effects and masks. Blogger Arnopartissimo is one of the most active mask makers on Instagram. He has already created many face filters and makes them available on his profile. Among them, "Which Disney" also stands out, which can be used directly from the author's profile.

    First of all, you need to access @arnopartissimo's Instagram account. Then touch the so-called "Actual" section, which is located above the profile feed. The first featured content is about the Disney character mask.

    Clicking on the circle leads to a story where the author shows how the filter works. As described above, simply tap on the name of the filter that is displayed under the account name and follow the same procedure as before.

    Unusual and funny stories you will have a good time, improve your mood and diversify your content on Instagram!

    We also advise you to look at our Insta collections that diversify your stories:

    • masks with transformation (lip augmentation and make-up);
    • retro effects with motes;
    • masks from TV series.

    2. How to find the right filter
    3. What is the difference between an Instagram mask and snapchat mask life lacks magic and you want new incarnations, then try a new filter in the style of Disney heroines. The graphics of the filter are at a high level, so the changes in the face will look organic with the rest of the body, even the color of the "skin" will be neatly smoothed out. What does the mask give? When a girl applies it on herself, her eyes change, they become large. The tone of the face is smoothed, irregularities are removed, the eyes become fabulously large, eyelashes also increase, sparkles and magical clouds appear.

      How to find the right filter

      If you saw this mask in your friend's story, you can click in the upper left corner where the name of the filter is written, and from there you can use the mask. In all other cases, you will have to show search skills:

      • Go to the story, in the lower masks, select any one that comes across, click "View effects" under it;
      • Click on the magnifying glass, write "Cartoon princess";
      • Select any of the masks and click "Try";
      • Now you are beautiful not only in life, but also in the form of a Disney princess.

      After the catalog opens, all mask options available for application will be visible. Depending on the filter, the shape of the eyes, skin tone will change, freckles or hearts may appear next to the eyes. Also available are masks in the style of Mermaid, Jasmine, Elsa, Cinderella, Snow White and others, each of them reacts to a change in facial expressions. With a mask, you can take a photo, capture it in a “boomerang” or shoot a video. Anything that pleases the princess's soul.

      The second way to get the look of a Disney princess
      While Instagram users have not developed filters with realistic faces of cartoon characters, Snapchat is making progress in this. To get an unusual photo of a princess you need:

      • Download Snapchat from Play Store/AppleStore;
      • Register with email and phone number;
      • Find "Cartoon Face" at the top of the search and navigate to the first result;
      • Take a photo by pressing the middle button once.

      The mask allows you to change the face, making the girl look like a fairy princess. With this lens, you can change the color of the eyes (blue, gray, brown, green, yellow, lilac, burgundy), the shape of the eyebrows, the shape of the eyes, the length of the eyelashes. Along with fabulous transformations, fabulously smooth skin appears. The result is easy to save to your phone or share with your friends inside Snapchat. Just click "Save" or "Submit".

      What is the difference between a mask on Instagram and Snapchat

      The main difference is that on Instagram you can immediately post a photo to your story. In Snapchat, you first need to save the picture and only then upload it to Instagram.

      What are the visual differences between princess masks? On Instagram, almost all lenses will change your face, and on Snapchat, there will be an overlay of cartoon graphics with the ability to adjust the parameters.

      Also in Snapchat will be the ability to use internal designers to edit the picture, overlay text, draw, and crop.
