How to see most recent posts on instagram
How to view your Instagram feed in chronological order and only see your fave accounts
Guides
Ditch the algorithm and fill your feed with posts you actually want to see with Instagram’s new feed filters.

After years of users begging for its return, Instagram has finally relaunched the chronological feed.
With a couple of taps, you can switch up your feed to show the most recent posts at the top instead of being served days-old posts that the algorithm wants you to engage with. You can also customize your feed further by only viewing accounts you’ve set as “favorites” for a quicker, more personal scrolling experience. We’ll hit the like button on that.
While Meta is framing these feed options as a way to “to shape Instagram into the best possible experience,” it’s really a way for the social media giant to sidestep the U. S. federal government’s concerns over real-world harm fueled by its content algorithm. That’s probably why users will have to go out of their way to use these new feed options and aren’t able to enable them permanently.
The algorithmic feed will still reign supreme, but at least we’ve got the option to skirt it now.
How to view your Instagram feed in chronological order
Right now, these extra feed options are only available on the mobile app for iOS and Android. There’s been no word from Meta on whether or not this feature will come to the web browser version of the site.
The Following feed narrows your scrolling experience and serves up posts in chronological order.
- In the Instagram app, make sure you’re on the home screen and looking at your main feed.
- Tap on the Instagram logo in the top left to reveal a down caret icon.
- From the drop-down menu, tap on “Following.” You’ll be moved over to your Following feed, which is only populated with posts from accounts you follow and is organized in chronological order. There will be no posts from hashtags you follow or suggested posts based on your activity. It doesn’t look like there are advertisements in this feed either, which is awesome.
How to use the new Favorites feed
With the Favorite feed, users can pick up to 50 accounts from their following list for a more cherry-picked and personal experience. We all follow too many accounts on Instagram and this feed option is a great way to make sure you don’t miss posts from friends, family, and other accounts that you want to stay on top of.
Instead of a video from an NBA All-Star and an ad from a tattoo business in my main feed, the Favorites feed showed me a reel from a friend that I had not seen the previous day.
- You can find the Favorite feed in the same menu as the Following feed. Tap the down caret icon next to the Instagram header and select “Favorites.”
- When you first launch the Favorites feed, Instagram will recommend a handful of accounts that you interact with frequently to add to your favorites list. Give the list a look and tap the “Confirm favorites” button at the bottom of your screen if everything looks good. You’ll be moved to your Favorites feed immediately.
- To add or remove accounts from your Favorites feed, navigate to the feed and tap the starred list icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
- On the next page, you can add accounts that Instagram believes you might include in your Favorites list or search for other accounts using the search bar. Tap the “Add” button next to any username to add them to your list. This is also where you can find your full Favorites roster. If there’s anyone you want to remove, tap “Remove next to their username.
Like the Following feed, the Favorite feed will only include posts from users on this list. No suggested posts, ads, or followed hashtag content.

This just in: Instagram's chronological feed is making a comeback!
Published January 6, 2022
Hot off the press, Instagram is bringing back the much-requested chronological feed and a shiny new feed experience called Favorites.
Head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, revealed today why they're making the change:
"We want you to be able to shape Instagram into the best possible experience, and giving you ways to quickly see what you’re most interested in is an important step in that direction."

With this update, your Instagram feed will be split into three view options:
Home (main): The current default feed with ranked and personalized content
Following: The chronological feed you know and love
Favorites: A second chronological feed with content from a curated list of accounts
The Following feed is a throwback to the OG days of Instagram, where posts from people you follow will display in chronological order.
The Favorites feed will also be in chronological order, but with a twist.
This feed will consist of content from up to 50 accounts of your choosing — like your family or favorite creators.
Posts from accounts in Favorites will also show up higher in your Home feed, giving them an extra visibility boost while you're scrolling.
It’s worth noting that the default Home feed will remain the same as it is now.
According to Mosseri, "It's going to continue to be ranked. It's going to continue to be personalized. We believe in personalization." So, expect more suggested content (like Reels) popping up.
With these new views, it’s clear that Instagram is making a concerted effort to give users more control over how they navigate and experience content on the platform.
We're curious to see what's next.
NOTE: The additional feeds can be accessed by tapping the Instagram logo in the top left corner of the home page. If you don't have them yet — sit tight!
What Does This Mean for the Future of Instagram? This is a major change for Instagram.
It's no secret that TikTok is a huge player in the industry and one of Instagram's biggest competitors.
Case in point: they're officially more popular than Instagram amongst US-based Gen Z users.
This new update creates more opportunities for Instagram to deliver suggested content through the main feed (similar to TikTok's For You Page), while still having chronological feeds available. It's a win-win scenario for Mosseri and crew.
The additional Instagram feeds will also force creators and brands to reevaluate their content strategies.
Take Mahdi Woodard, who shared how he'll approach the new feed changes. Hint: treat each feed like a funnel:

How to view your browsing history on Instagram. Is it possible to?
Author Ekaterina Murakaeva For reading 9 min. Posted by
The mobile application of the social network Instagram is configured in such a way that all queries you enter are automatically saved, thereby generating a search log. It will contain all the profile names, tags and places that you have previously been interested in. And we should not forget about the set likes, because they can also be analyzed in the future. Let's take a closer look at how to view your browsing history on Instagram using the standard functionality of a branded program.

What is Instagram browsing history and why is it needed? These can be the names of other profiles, thematic hashtags or geotags.
By default, each phrase is stored in the program's memory, and thanks to this, we see in the output those words that we wrote before. So why do we need a search journal?
First, it allows you to return to accounts that you were previously interested in. For example, you could forget the name of a particular profile, but you can easily find it by prompts. And secondly, the history allows you to get acquainted with all the pages that you went to through the application. It is really very convenient and useful.
Where to find and how to clear the search history on Instagram
If we are talking about how to view the history of visits on Instagram, then this can be done in different ways. The easiest way is to open the mobile application, click on the magnifying glass icon in the bottom panel, and then familiarize yourself with all the queries you enter. Next to each hint there will be a cross icon, clicking on which will remove the specific command. In this way, you can selectively get rid of profiles, hashtags or geotags in the search results.
There is another option, which is based on using the mobile client settings. In this case, you will see a list consisting of all the keywords and names you enter. Note that you won't be able to get rid of one request, you can only clear the entire log. To do everything right, we recommend using the instructions:
- Go to the profile tab, and then expand the side menu.
- Click on the "Settings" item.
- Go to the "Security" tab, then - "Data Access".
- Under the line "Search history" click on the hyperlink "Show all".
- And on the screen we see a list consisting of all the requests we enter. As it has already become clear, to delete the log, you must select "Clear search history" and confirm the action.
And now the search bar will not have the hints displayed before. We also want to talk about another method, for which you need to go to the "Security" tab. There we find the item "Search History" and click on it. And to remove requests, select "Remove All". Which option to use is up to you.
Where is the like history and how to clean it
Instagram account history associated with likes is also available to view in the mobile app. When you go to the desired tab in front of you, you will see a full block of posts that you previously rated. All you need to do is follow the steps from the step-by-step instructions:
- Open the mobile client and go to the account tab.
- Click on the three dashes in the corner of the screen to open the side menu. Here you need to stop at the "Account" option.
- Then go to the "Publications you liked" section. And we can immediately interact with all the opened posts. For example, remove likes or leave comments.
As you can see, there is absolutely nothing complicated in this, and any user of the social network will cope with this task.
How to delete the entire story from Instagram
If you need to permanently get rid of the entire history on the social network, you can try to temporarily or completely delete your own profile. In the first case, you can restore the page at any time, and in the second - only within 30 days. We have prepared different instructions, so choose the one that suits you best.
Temporary account blocking
This method of temporarily deleting an account is often used when they want to take a break from social networks. Nevertheless, nothing prevents us from using this opportunity for our own purposes. Before starting work, you need to open a browser on your smartphone and use it to log in to the social network. Unfortunately, it is not possible to block an account through the mobile application. When everything is ready, go to the instructions:
- Open the tab with your profile by clicking on the account avatar in the bottom panel.
- Select "Edit profile" and check the option "Temporarily disable my account" at the bottom of the page.
- Specify the reason for deactivating the page. The best option is "Other". We re-enter the password from the account and confirm the temporary deletion of the profile.
Now your account is blocked and is not displayed on the social network. But it can be returned to its usual state by re-authorization. Here, nothing depends on time - you can restore the profile even after a few months.
Deleting an account
And in this method we will consider the complete deletion of a profile. You need to understand that there is a risk of losing your account altogether if you do not restore it in time. If you realize this and are ready for anything, then we suggest using a step-by-step guide:
- Open the Instagram application and go to the profile section by clicking on the profile picture in the bottom panel.
- Click on the icon of three stripes located in the upper corner of the screen.
- In the menu that appears, select "Settings".
- Go to the "Help" section, then - "Help Center".
- We open the page in a mobile browser, having previously performed authorization in our own account.
- On the next page, find the "Account Management" hyperlink and click on it.
- Next, in the "Account Management" sub-item, select "Delete".
- Opening the question "How to delete your Instagram?" and in the text we find the highlighted phrase "Delete account". Click on this hyperlink.
- Select the reason for profile deactivation. It is best to stop at the "Other" option. Enter the password for the page and click "Permanently delete my account."
In this way, you can permanently get rid of the account, unless it is restored in time. In principle, the instructions are simple, although a little voluminous. Read it carefully, and then no errors will arise.
How to watch Instagram anonymously and for free
Sometimes you need to view people's profiles and stories completely anonymously. If you decide to stop at this option, then you should understand that you will not be able to interact with other authors. The ability to like, write comments and send messages in Direct automatically disappears. However, it will work to see new posts and stories.
Creating a fake page
As you know, to register in a social network, it is not at all necessary to indicate real data. You can come up with any name for the account, as well as use temporary mail to receive a verification code. In this case, your profile will be considered fake, and the other person will never know who is the owner of such an account.
Registering a new account is easy - just go to the official website of Instagram, enter the mailbox address, come up with a username and password.
Internet portals for anonymous surfing Insta
There are many sites on the Internet that allow you to view other people's publications and stories completely anonymously and without authorization. But this method has one significant drawback - it will not be possible to subscribe to people, as a result of which you will have to enter the profile name manually each time. However, this is a working variant, for which the following online services are suitable:
- Insta-stories. Convenient site with the most understandable interface. The first time you use it, you will need to enter the login of another user in the search box. Then on the screen of your device we see two tabs: "Stories" and "Publications". Choose what you need and watch the content.
- Gramotool. Almost the same service, but with a different design. As in the previous case, initially we enter the name of the desired profile in the search box, and then select the account in the search results. We open the page of a specific user and view both stories and available publications.
If you wish, you can find other similar sites by entering the appropriate query in the search bar of your browser. There are also special applications that allow you to work anonymously with a social network.
And finally, we want to recommend you the DoSMM online service, designed to promote your profile. The site allows you to wind up different types of activity, including real subscribers. Registration does not take much time, and the prices for services will pleasantly surprise you.
And, most importantly, it is impossible to get an account blocking!
So, we figured out how to view your browsing history on Instagram. It is enough to go to the mobile application and open the corresponding tab.
How to view history statistics?
You need to open a specific story, and then click on the “Viewed” icon located at the bottom of the screen. Here the exact number of views will be indicated, as well as the people who launched the story.
How can I find out information about profile visits?
This data is available only to business account holders and is located in the "Statistics" section. There you can get information about post reach, engagement, and promotion performance.
How to clear recommendations?
First you need to follow the steps that are described in the first instruction. And then, to consolidate the effect, also clear the cache of the mobile application. This is done through the smartphone settings.

rules of survival - Dark site of marketing
You must have heard the scary story that Instagram will never be the same again? Everything flows, everything changes, and the Instagram feed changes along with all this. Soon posts will be displayed not according to the principle of “novelty”, but according to the principle of “interesting” for the user. What does this mean and how to live with it - let's try to figure it out.
Instagram feed changes
Initially, the news feed on Instagram was formed on a temporary basis. That is, the posts of friends in your feed were displayed in order: someone just posted - this photo appears in the feed first, who posted 10 hours ago - this photo is lower in the feed, you have to scroll to it.
At the beginning of March, Instagram announced on its blog that it turns out that we are skipping about 70% of the posts in our feeds. And we need to do something about it. As a result, it was decided to make the Instagram feed look like a Facebook feed. In the Facebook feed, posts are displayed according to the principle of "interest" for the user. Those posts that the user is most likely to be interested in facebook raises higher in the feed. Those posts that are probably of less interest to the user are lowered (in fairness it should be noted that in the facebook settings you can choose the type of feed: popular news or the latest).
How to determine which post is interesting and which is not? Instagram itself says that this will be determined by user behavior. Account posts that the user likes and comments on will appear in his feed above others.
What does this mean? This means that even if you have 100,500 followers, but they don't like or comment on your posts, soon they won't see your photos in their feeds at all. No, at first all posts will remain in the feeds, only their order will change. But whether they get through to your publication is a question.
Don't panic
With the release of the announcement of a new feed on the Instagram blog, life was divided into “before” and “after”. People created a petition asking them to cancel the innovations, and perhaps they didn’t go to rallies. Then a new wave of panic came and everyone posted pictures asking them to turn on notifications for new posts. With each new such post, the versions changed: if in the morning they were asked to turn on notifications so as not to simply miss posts, then in the evening they began to ask to turn on notifications so that posts would appear in the feed at all.
As a result, instead of subscribing, users began unsubscribing from those who posted such calls to “keep up”. So survival #1: Don't panic.
Post interesting content
Now officially on Instagram, texts have become as important as beautiful photos. If up to this point you have sinned by publishing photos without captions or with only tags, then don’t do it again. Start adding descriptions to your posts, and it is desirable that it be informative and interesting. Even better, if your posts evoke emotions: laughter, anger, the desire to argue and prove - this is good, because these are comments and holivar. And if you are commented on, then you are interested - here, please, put your post above the rest.
Funny and useful content will also work well, because they are willingly shared with friends by tagging them in the comments.
Tag other people
If you publish a post, talk about someone, or publish a text inspired by another blogger, tag it in your post. He will receive a notification that he was marked, he will go to your account, read, maybe even like and comment. All this is interaction with your account, which, in theory, should be counted as interest.
Chat with followers
If people write comments to you and you ignore them, soon people will get tired of writing to you. No one is interested in a one-way conversation. Unless you are Ksyusha Borodina, then ok, no one is waiting for an answer from you.
Moreover, a comment can be turned into a dialogue, and the user will come back to answer you, and again, and again, and again ...
Use a call to action
If you sincerely think that you post interesting content, you are sure that you have live subscribers, but they still do not like or comment on your publications, ask them what is wrong. Ask for help, let the readers themselves tell you what they don't like. Maybe you make good posts, but not about that?
Vkontaktovsky option “Do you like it? Like it!" can also be used. Moreover, the call options may be different:
● Would you like more articles on this topic? Like!
● If the post gets 1000 likes, I'll tell you how...
● Would you like a discount? Like.
● If the post gets 1000 likes, there will be a sale tomorrow.
Cooperation with bloggers with an active audience
Not everyone loves and is used to leaving comments and likes on the posts of strangers and shops. Many people just read silently. But there are a number of people who come to Instagram to communicate. If you have found a blogger with an active audience, then this audience is already ready to communicate. She will not need to be "rocked", she only needs to be given a new platform for comments - your account.
Therefore, negotiate joint promotions, marathons, advertising and other forms of cooperation with such bloggers. However, please note that your account must be conducive to communication. If you publish photos taken in the dark with a flash, and even without a signature, no matter how the blogger promotes you, this will not give an effect.
Official targeted ads on Instagram
You can advertise single posts on facebooke. It is likely that such a function will appear in Instagram (yet it is not). But targeted advertising is already there.
If you sell through Instagram, then such advertising allows you to transfer the target audience directly to the sales page (website or landing page). The main thing is to correctly set up advertising on Instagram and that the receiving page is adapted for mobile devices.
