1. Set Up Your Instagram Profile For Success!
In order to get your art noticed on Instagram, make sure you have a profile picture that stands out: Have it be your logo, a professional photo of you as the artist, or a photo of your art.
Choose your username wisely: I have it set up as just my name (@ShihoriObata) because that’s what I want my art to be known by. If you have a business name like (@PassionColorJoy), you can use that as your username. You can also use a combination such as @AngeMillerArt.
For your Bio, make sure to add relevant keywords (These keywords will depend on your niche… what type of artist are you?). Feel free to also add a little blurb about yourself for a personal touch!
Instagram allows use of one link: You can use it to link to your website, online shop, etsy store, etc
*Here’s a tip to get around this: I use LinkTree to set up a landing page that links to multiple web pages depending on where interested viewers want to go to. That way they have options: Whether they want to visit my Website/Blog/Buy my poetry book/Visit my Etsy shop. They can do it all.
Consider setting up an Instagram Business Account: You will be able to get access to Instagram analytics this way.
2. Make Your Feed Beautiful!
Spend some time learning the ropes of how to make your feed beautiful.
Make sure your lighting is good: Try to take photos during the day.
Also, I find it helps to be in a room with white walls. From personal experience, I live in a rented house with dull, mustard-like yellow walls and it’s a no go when it comes to taking pictures: It skews the colors of any object I take a picture of and it takes a lot of work to readjust the colors as close to how it is in real life.
I definitely wish I had white walls just for this reason!
That aside, even if you take a photo in a well-lit room, you’re still going to have to do some editing to your photos.
If there is just one thing you can do to your photo to take your Instagram feed to the next level is upping the Brightness of each photo. Trust me… it’s going to do wonders. There are some really amazing photo editing apps out there to download onto your phone for quick editing:
My Favorite Photo-Editing Apps for Artwork are:
VSCO, Snapseed, and Lightroom.Image credit: @dope.filterss on Instagram
VSCO is a great editing app with amazing filter options. Filters are the key to keeping your feed looking cohesive with a theme. I have a Pinterest Board dedicated to VSCO filters if you’re interested in creating a theme for your Instagram.
Snapseed has a TON of photo editing tools – You can seriously do some major Photoshop-level editing using this app.
I use Lightroom to balance out or change certain colors in a photo.
I will also edit photos on my Computer using Photoshop if I want to get the colors perfect or want to use fonts, effects, and editing tools not available through the apps on my phone.

I also use the Instagram Planning app, Planoly, to see and adjust the way my feed looks before I upload a photo on Instagram. I love using Planoly because I can see and upload to the grid from both my phone and my computer (Plus, it’s free!). It also has a lot of extra features like its Instagram posting calendar, analytics, and hashtag research tool.
Using Planoly to Plan & Schedule Your Instagram Feed3. Post Consistently
When I first started out with my art Instagram page, I made sure to post 1-2 times per day.
This is very important! If you have a business account with Instagram, you’ll be able to see it in your analytics.
I know for me, the days I don’t post to Instagram, my analytics definitely take a nose-dive on the days I don’t post. If you don’t post, you won’t get impressions, you won’t get engagement, and thus you will not get profile views nor as many followers.
So post 1-2 times a day!
4. Follow Other Artists
Follow other artists you admire, respect, and most importantly, engage with you.
You want to build a fun, supporting community around you, so start making friends and follow other artists! (Plus, they may in-turn fall in love with your work and follow you back).
5. Engage with the Art Community
In order to get your art noticed on Instagram, it’s imperative that you engage with the art community on Instagram. This is the method that helped me the most when I first started growing my Instagram:
Like, like, and like as many posts related to your niche as you can.
Don’t be selective when it comes to likes: Like as many art-related photos as you can.
When you like the photos of others, you are not only helping their Instagram pages, but you are bringing your profile in front of their’s (They will be able to see that you liked one of their photos).
I find that there are many people who will like your photos back or even comment or follow you. So like away, my friends.
When someone comments on your photo, take time to comment back, especially in the first hour of you posting to Instagram.
With Instagram’s new 2018 Algorithm, the more engagement you have on your posts within that first hour, the more that post will reach a wider audience.
Care for your followers: If they show you love, show you care and engage with them.
6. Use Hashtags!
It is so important to use hashtags on each new Instagram post. Instagram allows a max of 30 hashtags per post, and I try to make sure to use a minimum of 11 hashtags at least.
According to Buffer , using 11+ hashtags on Instagram boosts engagement on your Instagram post most.
I do not recommend using hashtags that have over 1 million posts in them unless you have a huge following with high engagement rates.
There are hundreds of people posting photos under that hashtag and in such a short moment, your post will be buried under all the later posts coming after it.
Unless you make it to the Top Post section for that hashtag, people won’t be able to see your post.
That is why, do Instagram hashtag research and make sure to use hashtags you have a chance at ranking in the Top Posts for.
I generally aimed for hashtags with less than 300k posts at first. As you continue to grow, consider using more competitive hashtags.

7. Try to Get Featured by Instagram Art Sharing Pages
There are several pages out there on Instagram dedicated to featuring talented artists and their works.
Choose an art featuring page dedicated to promoting your specific type of art form, whether that be abstract art, art journaling, watercolor, fluid art, etc.
*Tip: Watch out for Art Featuring Accounts where you must pay to get featured. In the end, it is your choice whether you want to use their service, but check the engagement on their posts first. Do they have 500K followers but have only 100 likes on each photo and barely any comments? Most likely, they just buy their followers and you will just be wasting your money using their services.
There are just as many amazing Art Featuring Instagram Accounts that will feature you for free.
It’s just a matter of getting your art noticed by them. Make sure to follow the directions in their profile description on how to get featured – Each Art Sharing page will be different.
8. Collaborate with Other Artists
Another great way to promote your art (as well as the art of others) is to collaborate with a fellow artist.
This may take some creative thinking, but I’ve seen artists band together for charity, to bring awareness to a cause/issue, and just for good ol’ fun!
9. Host an Art Giveaway
Give back to your art lovers by doing a giveaway every once in a while.
The basics requirements of most giveaways are that those who want to enter should 1.) Follow you 2.) Like the giveaway post 3.) Comment on the post
There are additional entries you can add to promote your Instagram page such as giving them the option to tag a friend.
*Tip: Remember to take into consideration shipping of the item you are giving away. International shipping fees are more expensive than domestic, so make sure you check into these costs before hosting an international giveaway.
10. Share on Other Social Media Outlets
Don’t keep your Instagram posts restricted to just Instagram: There are plenty of other ways to promote your art Instagram accounts on your other platforms.
You can use Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, your Website, Blog, etc.
Personally, I love promoting my Instagram through Pinterest. They are both visual-based platforms that work great hand-in-hand in bringing even more traffic to one’s Instagram account.

11. Learn from Other Artists and Their Feed
Study the accounts and feeds of other successful artists on Instagram.
See which posts are doing well for them, and learn from them so that you can apply it to your own feed.
See these successful artists as your teachers: They have been through the growing phase you are going through as well. They have also had years of learning what works and what doesn’t for their own Instagram page.
Watching how someone else works is the basis of how you learn how to do something in any job or field you are in. Instagram is just the same.
12. Use Instagram Stories
Instagram Stories is a relatively new feature on Instagram that is similar to Snapchat. Unlike a regular Instagram post, a post to your Instagram Story only lasts for 24 hours.
You can use it in various ways to interact with your followers: Share life updates, share a more personal side of yourself to your followers, share a quote, tid bits of inspiration, share a sale you’re having in your shop, special coupon codes, etc.
You also have the ability to tag users and use hashtags with Instagram Stories, which just adds another way to widen your audience reach.
13. Utilize the Tag Feature
Tag brands and other Instagram accounts when applicable.
If there’s a new brand of paint you are using that you’ve fallen in love with, take a photo and make sure to tag the brand to share with them how much you love their products.
When you tag someone, your post will appear in the tagged section in that user’s profile. It acts as just another step to widen your audience reach.
14. Followers Aren’t Everything
This post by @NatalieFranke on Instagram really resonated with me, and I saved it ever since, always looking back to remind myself of these words.
Remember: Follower counts aren’t everything.
I know this whole post is about growing your Art Instagram page, but I didn’t want you walking away from this article solely focusing on growing your Instagram followers.
I want to instead bring to focus on the mindset that your number of followers does not equal success:
There are in-fact so many Instagram accounts out there that have over 100K followers, but barely have any likes, engagement, and no business profit. Their followers aren’t real, most likely they’ve just been bought to give the facade that their Instagram account is successful.
It might be hard to get out of the mindset that followers=success at first, but it is completely normal that your follower growth isn’t explosive – That’s what we all go through at the beginning.
Instead, take the time to attract the right followers to you: Followers that are real people and are interested in what you are doing.
You’d be surprised how many business have smaller followings with genuine followers, and thus have higher engagement and higher profits than these other businesses.
And more than just followers, you should be building a community of friends around you; Friends who love what you are doing and are excited to see where you’ll be going in this journey of your’s.
I hope you found this post helpful if you are thinking about promoting your art on Instagram. It’s definitely worth it through-and-through: Enjoy the journey and enjoy all the people you meet.
Remember to not get too focused on your follower numbers.
Another way of looking at it is to instead create a beautiful Instagram page that expresses who you are as an artist. Make it feel like home to you. Your art fans will only grow organically after that.

How to Get Your First 1000 Art Instagram Followers
You’ve seen the stats. You know that when done right, Instagram can become a huge asset to your art business.
But when you only have a few hundred followers (let’s face it, mostly family and friends), it can feel like an eternity waiting for that coveted notification to pop up—the one announcing you got another follower.
If your only plan is to post a picture, sit and wait, it’s going to be a long road ahead. The truth is, building your Instagram followers takes a healthy dose of effort and strategy.
Now, smaller accounts can be harder to build.
The internet is filled with tips and tricks to grow your followers, but most are either geared toward already large accounts, or they ignore the fact that not all followers are created equal.
But hope is not lost! Cracking a thousand followers is not only possible but completely doable with the right strategy.
Get started with the basics
There is a tried-and-true recipe when it comes to Instagram success. Yes, different cooks will throw in different spices from time to time, but no one can ignore the main ingredients. Without them, the recipe simply won’t work.
So, what are we talking about in terms of using Instagram? Let’s dive in:
Images: First and foremost, always, always, always post high-quality photos. That includes good composition, lighting, cropping, etc. Use filters very carefully and sparingly when it comes to posting shots of your artwork. People will not stick around if your images aren’t up to par.
Username: Use your art business name, if it’s available so that it’s consistent with the rest of your online presence. Typically it will be your full name with a keyword like “art” attached. Remember, you want it to be as easy as possible for people to find your account.
Bio: Keep it short, sweet, and attention-grabbing. Make it extremely clear what sort of value people will get from following you. Use keywords that your audience would search for in the description.
Privacy Settings: If you are using your account to promote your art business, it should not be private! Otherwise, there’s no point wasting time on social media.
When people come to your page, having these bases covered will help ensure they stick around.
Ignore those “quick fixes”
You may have heard of the “follow back” trick on Instagram—where following a random account will prompt a notification from your page, and once they click to see who you are, hopefully they are enticed enough to follow your page, too.
While this can work in certain situations, there are a few problems with using this as your entire growth strategy.
One, who has time to find a thousand random accounts to follow? Two, what are the odds they actually follow you back? And three, what are the odds that the people who follow you back are the people you actually want to be reaching?
Having a bunch of Instagram followers is swell, but it won’t do your business an ounce of good if they don’t actually care about supporting your art.
That’s why it's important to always make sure you are going after your target audience when you are trying to grow your account. Here’s how to gain followers the right way.
Connect with the right people
While you’ve probably already connected with family and friends (learn how here), the next step is to identify some Instagram accounts connected to your target audience. This could be galleries, interior designers, art consultants, fellow artists, artist organizations, etc.
The first step? Start following them. If they follow you back, great! But that’s not where the story ends.
Step two: slowly but consistently start liking and commenting on their latest posts. Be complimentary or pose questions, but always be insightful. There’s nothing worse than an Insta user clearly using you for their own gain.
The goal is to be social as possible so that these accounts (and the ones following them) see your comments and are impressed enough to check you out. You’ll not only spark curiosity about your own page, but you’ll begin to build relationships. And, these interactions will make them want to engage with your posts as well.
Which brings us to the Instagram algorithm...
Like with every relationship, communication is keyThanks to Instagram’s ever-changing algorithm, it’s now estimated that you see only 10% of the posts from people you follow. And, the same goes for the people following you!
So, what’s the trick? Engagement.
In fact, the more people engage with your post, the higher it appears in your followers’ feeds. And the people who engage with you consistently are more likely to see your posts in the future.
So if you’d much rather schedule a post and be done with it, think about it like this:
The more engagement you get on your posts, the more people will see it in their feeds and search results. Which means a higher chance for even more people to engage with it and discover your account. And the more engagement you get, the more people will want to follow you. Hence, the more followers you will get!
The bottom line is, you get out what you put in. You need to engage with others so that you will get engagement and followers yourself.
But that means you have to spend the time communicating on other people’s posts (so they remember you and eventually come over to your account), as well as posting amazing content of your own that people will want to interact with and follow.
Post the best content possible
Remember the very first item on our list of basics? High-quality images.
Think about the posts you hit “like” on as you’re scrolling through Instagram. Friends may forgive a blurry photo because they know and love you. But, when you’re trying to pique the interest of collectors across the world, they may not be convinced when your photos—and captions—are poor.
Your photos need to catch their attention. Excite them. Leave them in awe of your abilities as an artist.
And, there are so many creative ways for artists to post on Instagram and Instagram Stories. Consider the possibilities: progress posts, before and after shots, behind-the-scenes in the studio, a timelapse of your process, quotes that fuel your practice, voting between two works, a quick video tutorial, testimonials about your work, a revelation you’ve had, exciting news, etc.
And your caption is just as important as the image itself.
While it may be easy to throw up a piece’s title and price, your followers yearn for more. They don’t want to be blatantly sold to, they are bombarded with ads all day long.
No, they want to be enticed. They want to be told a story—who you are, what you’re feeling, your inspiration, the problems you solved, how the artwork came to be. You’ve literally painted a picture, but now you need to do it figuratively.
Every post should start a conversation. The goal is engagement, don’t forget!
One of the best ways to do this is by asking thoughtful questions at the end of your posts. Even if your followers don’t respond at first, eventually they will. Especially if you respond to others’. Keep asking and keep engaging.
Finally, before you post anything, ask yourself if you would engage with this post. Is it worth it to share? If your answer is no, or you doubt if you would engage with the post, then maybe something needs to be tweaked.
Find the type of voice and posts that speak to your audience, then do more of it!
#Hashtag like the best of them
Hashtags wield fascinating powers. They are the keywords and phrases that make an image searchable, so your post gets discovered by the viewers most interested in seeing it—A.K.A your target audience.
But to harness these targeting powers, you have to use the right hashtags.
If your mind is racing with keywords, that’s a great start. But, the first rule when it comes to hashtagging is to narrow it down.
While #art is extremely popular (it’s tagged in over 350 million posts), it could also apply to anything: someone strolling through the Met, a box of pastels, a styled plate of food, or even a sunset—all extremely different results.
That’s why you need to get specific.
Marketing maven Hubspot explains, “As a user, I’m more likely to find what I need if I search for something specific, and when your business comes up for my specific search request, I’m more likely to be happy with what I found.”
Think about the exact keywords your audience will search for. For instance, #abstractart may be more specific than #art, but #blueabstract might be specific enough to bring you a new buyer.
You want your hashtags to be popular enough that people are searching for them, but not so popular that you get lost in the competition.
Type a hashtag into Instagram’s search bar, and it shows you related hashtags to add to your list. Or, take a look at what other artists and influencers with the same audience are using, and try them for yourself.
Instagram allows you to use up to thirty hashtags at a time, but different numbers work for different people. The magic number could be seven or it could be twenty, reminds HubSpot. The best way to figure out what works for your art business is to simply test it out.
Social media success is all about testing the waters and adjusting your sails accordingly.
And for faster posting, keep an updated doc full of different hashtags for different kinds of posts. That way you can just pick and choose the ones that fit and copy and paste.
Make a plan and stick to it
When you post regularly, you stay on your followers’ radar. And, you are able to build a connection where they consistently like and comment on your posts.
So when you aren’t consistent with posting, you are more likely to lose engagement and get lost in the dreaded algorithm shuffle.
Even if it’s a few times a week, pick a posting schedule you feel comfortable committing to. Enough to get on people’s radars, but not so much you burn out. You need time to create art, too!
With a free business account, Instagram offers insights such as fan demographics, how often your post was viewed, if they found you through hashtags, when your followers are online, and more. Knowing the right time to post can make a huge difference when it comes to engagement. And the faster you get engagement, the better.
Remember, besides posting, you need to make time for quality interactions with certain accounts. Creating a marketing calendar can be a great way to keep track of it all.
Don’t keep your account a secret
Sometimes all it takes to get more Instagram followers is a little visibility. Get the Insta word out by including a link to your account on your other social media pages, and remind new fans to follow you periodically.
Don’t stop there! Put an Instagram icon on your Artwork Archive profile, and add your username to your business cards, event materials, and more. Have a newsletter? Share your account with your email followers. All these steps can add up to get more eyes on your art account.
It can be done!
Getting those first thousand followers can feel like a never-ending battle. While it takes some time and hard work, these tips are meant to compound one another. Taking care of all of these elements will eventually help your small Instagram account turn into a booming asset for your art business.
Then, when you start making sales, you can keep everything organized on Artwork Archive. Mark which pieces have been sold, generate invoices to get paid and track sales insights so your Instagram account stays profitable.

How to promote music in Reels ♫ IMI.Journal
Reels is a new video content format on Instagram that became available in Russia this summer. At IMI's request, Mikhail Mazunov, music manager and founder of Mishas Tips YouTube channel, talked about how to use Reels to promote music and artist accounts.
What is Reels
Basically, Instagram copied the TikTok format and brought it into their ecosystem. Now users of the social network can create short videos ranging from 15, 30 and 60 seconds, using various editing tools, music and effects.
Why Reels Matters to Content Creators
Promoting a personal Instagram account is no easy task. The fact is that Instagram cuts the coverage of posts in the news feed and the authors have to use paid advertising tools to show the content to the target audience and sometimes to their own subscribers.
But with the advent of Reels, the situation has changed dramatically:
- Instagram has a separate smart feed for Reels, which individually selects content for each user. Imagine you are watching TikTok inside Instagram. Recommendations include videos from both accounts that the user is following, as well as videos from other content creators. This is the main advantage - Instagram gives free coverage and promotes copyrighted content within the social network ecosystem. This is fundamentally different from the traditional scheme, in which content is visible in the news feed only to your subscribers.
- Reels is integrated everywhere: in the news feed, in the "Interesting" section, in the selection of content by hashtags. The new service is now a priority for Instagram, so the company is interested in distributing content from Reels.
- Instagram promotes content from Reels for longer than classic posts, which followers see on average for 24 hours. This is probably due to the fact that so far there are not enough videos in Reels and therefore Instagram offers to watch the created content to a wider range of people.
Let's compare the average number of video post views in the News Feed and the number of Reels views for two artists.
For example, Niletto's last 13 video posts have collected more than 315 thousand views, 13 Reels videos of the same artist - 1,330,690 views. Singer Glucose has the following figures: a little more than 246 thousand views on video posts, and 561,200 views on Reels videos. Thus, Reels brought Niletto almost 4 times more views compared to video posts, Glucose - about 2 times more.
View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Ivan Dorn (@dorn_ivan)
However, it is worth noting that in the case of Niletto, the number of views of 5 out of 13 Reels videos exceeded the number of subscribers.
So Reels is now a key tool for increasing personal brand awareness for artists and other content creators on Instagram. Through interesting content in Reels, new people will learn about you, and if they like what you do, they will subscribe to your page. Once you have an audience, you can convert it into sales of your music and merchandise using all available Instagram tools (posts, stories, live streams, IGTV and Reels).
How to promote music through Instagram Reels
The first thing to do is make sure your music is available on Instagram. Most distributors deliver music to Facebook and Instagram automatically, but there are also companies that charge a separate fee for this service or ask you to take additional steps. Keep this in mind so that at the time of the launch of a new release, your music will be available on Instagram and users of the application (including you) can use it in their videos.
There are three main ways to promote music through Reels:
- Create Reels by yourself by adding your music to the videos. You can choose any section of the track under which you will shoot a video. This will allow you to test different pieces of music and see which ones work best in Reels.
- Negotiate with other authors to create Reels for your music. This is a common TikTok promotion method, and Reels is no different. Learn how to promote music on TikTok here.
- Ask your followers to create videos in Reels with your music. This strategy works well when releasing new tracks. You can come up with mechanics (certain movements or actions) that your subscribers will use when creating their own videos.

Several rules for creating and placing Reels
- Decide on a theme for your videos before you start shooting for Reels. Firstly, it is easier to create a content plan. Secondly, the target audience is more likely to subscribe to an account dedicated to a specific topic. Thirdly, the Instagram algorithm will understand who likes your content and will make more accurate recommendations for your target audience.
- Check out the Reels feed. Spend time researching the content that makes it to the recommendation feed. This will help you decide on the music in the videos and choose the desired filming format.
- Try to hook the audience from the first seconds. To promote your content on Reels, it's important that it gets viewed. The greater the viewing depth of your videos, the higher the chance that these videos will be recommended to other users.
- Create content that people can share. For example, make a video about a topic or issue that brings your target audience together. If your videos are shared, it gives the algorithm a signal that you have interesting content and should be shown to even more Instagram users.
- Consistency and optimization is the key to success. Create a content plan and decide on a posting schedule. The more content you create, the more likely you will be in the eyes of your target audience. Once you've posted a few Reels, analyze which video formats are getting the most engagement and tailor your content plan accordingly. To get analytics, use the statistics tools that are available on Instagram for accounts of the "Business" and "Author" types. You can change the account type through the settings.
- Use hashtags in your video descriptions. Now Instagram is pushing content from Reels to the top of the results for a particular hashtag, which will also help to get even more coverage.
- Add captions on top of your videos. Instagram users often watch content without sound, so video captions can help grab the attention of the target audience and engage them in the video. Keep in mind that the captions should be visible when users view your Reels from the News Feed. The fact is that in the feed, videos from Reels will be displayed in proportions of 4:5 instead of 9:16.
- Designate covers for your Reels. You can choose a screenshot from the video or create a separate cover and upload it from your smartphone. Clip art will appear in both the News Feed and the Reels Feed. If someone visits your profile, the cover image will help to attract attention and increase the number of views of already published Reels.
- Post Reels in your newsfeed. This way you can remind your audience of yourself. In addition, if your subscribers support the video with likes, comments and reposts, this will increase the chances of a particular video getting into recommendations.
- Post Reels to stories. This will give even more coverage to the video. In addition, Reels can be placed in stories directly from the news feed. And if you add one of the stickers (for example, "Poll"), this post will get even more coverage.
- Adapt existing content. If you have any video content (a music video or a recording of your live), you can adapt it for Reels and publish it.

Tagging popular pages like Parker, Warby, WestElm, and others, as long as you use their product, can also quickly make you famous. However, you should understand that different realms have different hashtags that should be used. For example, popular hashtags for fashion are #jewelry, #fashion and others. Popular fitness hashtags are #gethealthy, #eatclean and #getfit.
In addition, you also need to know that the best number of hashtags in one post is 5-6, although you can use up to 30 hashtags as a maximum.
4. Post regularly
Posting content on a regular basis is necessary to gain followers and increase popularity on Instagram. Whenever you are thinking about how to become popular on Instagram, always remember to post at least one quality post on a regular basis.
When you reach your target number of subscribers, you will be able to post fewer posts, but while you are still trying to achieve fame and increase your number of subscribers, you need to post new quality content regularly. When you post more, you generate more engagement and may end up in the top content list with the hashtags you use. This can help in increasing the number of your followers.
5. Engage with influencers
Once you've identified influencers in your space, try visiting their profiles and "turn on new post notifications". Whenever your designated influencers post content, you will be notified. You will be able to enter into correspondence with influencers and become one of their most preferred brands or individuals.
You also need to interact with subscribers. Nowadays, more and more people care about emotional connection. In other words, your followers love to interact with you. During the interaction, you can also get feedback on what you can improve in your posts. On the other hand, subscribers will also feel like a part of the community.
6. Post your account on "viral" sites
Do you have unique content that could go viral outside of Instagram? Sites like Reddit, Buzzfeed, and Cracked post several Instagram stories that go viral within seconds of being posted.
So create fun and attention-grabbing content in your niche, look for an author highlighting your niche on blogs that go viral, use hashtags around the news, and constantly try to interact with them to get featured on viral sites. Content at a royal wedding is one such example.
7. Don't forget to add a call to action
Instagram is not a broadcast platform, but a medium for communication. What do you want your followers to do after reading a post? If you don't know for sure yet, you can find out by discussing it.
This will help grab attention and let you know exactly what you want your people to do. A call to action is a smart move that can get people to take a specific action on your post, share it, and make your content go viral.
8. Your own style
You definitely won't like it if your content style and theme is similar to those of other bloggers, travelers or food lovers. Is not it? To stand out from the crowd, it's important to stick to a particular color palette, font, or image style. Never try to copy others. Instead, come up with some unique style (@juliusise) to visually differentiate your channel from others.
9. Determine the best time to post
If you want to become famous on Instagram, then you need to know that posting time is vital. Choose the time period when your followers and users are most active on Instagram. It is important that you have enough time to interact with your audience. Thus, you need to know when you should be online in order to make the most of your time on the platform. Also, when deciding to post content, try to understand your audience.
The best time to post is between 8 am and 9 am. The best days to post are Monday and Thursday, which are generally recommended to post new posts. However, given the large number of different topics and areas, you need to determine your best posting time yourself. If you are not able to post at the same time every day, you can also schedule posts according to your needs.
10. Seek local information
If you find out what's going on in your area, region, or district on the search page, using the search tab and typing in the name of a place in the places tab, you can see all geotagged posts for those places.
You may ask why use this method? By posting something about local news, it will be easier for you to communicate with your followers. In turn, they will generally like your posts. And this, in turn, will help to quickly gain fame.
11. Don't forget to update your profile
Nobody likes old and fake profiles so you need to make sure you provide the latest information. You should know that the profile is the first thing people will see. A great profile is like a great look or outfit. This way people will be able to know what your posts are going to be and what your style is (@meatzilla_la).
People want to know the real you behind your account and posts, which means a profile is a place where you can express yourself. Therefore, before gaining popularity, you need to set your own photo, thus telling people who you are, and even what you can give them.
12. Plan your content
Everything needs a plan, including content creation. It is recommended to make a calendar in which you should indicate what needs to be done next in order to become famous. You can put every big event and idea on a calendar.
With prepared content (@denaragonmx) you become more confident because you know what it takes to be famous. In addition, you will have the opportunity to correct your plan if something goes wrong. In particular, if you are a beginner and have very little content to use, making a plan will be especially helpful to you.
13. Set small goals first
Sometimes the desire to become famous overnight can scare you. Therefore, it is more practical to start by setting small goals. For example, you can say that you want to reach the first 1,000 subscribers, which sounds quite reasonable. Or first collaborate with the brand.
This way you will know what you can do next, step by step.
14. Take it easy on the haters
We all know that there are a lot of haters online. They are on every corner, waiting for the opportunity to insert their comment. To attack you, they mainly use rude and offensive words. But you need to learn to ignore them.
It's hard to completely forget about haters, but you must remember to never let them get in the way of your fame.
15. Try to connect with microbrands
Microbrands are also a great way to get famous, but people sometimes forget about it. If brands like your style, you can start working with them to get them noticed. In addition, you can also become even more famous by getting sponsored on Instagram.
You won't get any answers at first. This, of course, can undermine your desire to do anything. However, if you keep trying to make contact every day, it may one day bear fruit.
