Disadvantages of using Virtual numbers as second WhatsApp number

There are multiple disadvantages and frankly risks associated with virtual numbers. Let’s take a quick look at each one of them.

Retainability

Virtual Numbers are not associated with specific users for a long time unless you pay for them. So if you are planning to skip the payment then you should keep in mind that you will have to keep using the number constantly daily to keep it active and in your possession.

Reusability

As most virtual numbers get reused and assigned to new users, you run the risk of getting an already used number. If the previous user had signed up to Whatsapp then you won’t be able to use this account unless you can delete the previous one.

Risk of losing data

Another major risk involved is that someone else might gain access to your Whatsapp account. If you get rid of your virtual number and someone else signs up to Whatsapp using it then you won’t be able to get your account back. They will be able to see all your stored chats as well as your backed up data if any. Moreover, any contact trying to contact you will be redirected to the new user.

Risk of losing payment modes

Only a handful of virtual number services out there are from reliable sources like Google. Even then, breaches happen which could result in your data getting stolen. When you take into account that most of these providers are credit card dependent with no reputation to their name, then the prospect of disclosing your payment information to such providers becomes increasingly risky.

How to use your landline number to sign up to Whatsapp instead

If you are worried about solicitation calls or random numbers and advertisements, then signing up with your landline will help you bypass all these drawbacks. You will also be able to set up your second WhatsApp account with the same phone number. Let’s take a look at how you can sign up for a new Whatsapp account using your landline.

Download and open your second Whatsapp on your device. Tap on ‘Agree and Continue’ at the bottom.

Now enter your landline number along with your country code. Tap on ‘Next’ once you are done.

The app will now send you a verification code via SMS but as it is a landline, you won’t be able to receive it. Wait for 5 mins and the option titled ‘Call Me’ will be available to you. Once available, tap on it.

You should now get a call on your landline with the verification code. Once you enter the code in your Whatsapp, it will be activated and you can now set your profile picture and username.

You should now be able to use Whatsapp with your landline.

How to use WhatsApp on Android from two numbers at once

Despite the fact that just a few years ago, smartphones with two SIM cards were practically absent on the market, over time they have become the absolute norm. Thanks to the ability to use two numbers, millions of users have been able to separate their private and public lives, using one SIM card for personal issues and another for work. But the life of a modern person is not limited to phone calls. Many communicate exclusively through instant messengers, but at the same time they do not have the opportunity to use two accounts that are independent of each other. We will tell you how to get around this limitation.

Use two SIM cards and only one WhatsApp? Not in order

How to reduce WhatsApp battery consumption on Android

First you need to install a second WhatsApp . Somewhere it is quite simple to do this, but somewhere more difficult. Some manufacturers add the ability to duplicate the same applications to the firmware of their smartphones. If my memory serves me, these are Huawei, Honor, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Asus. There may be others, but I don't know anything about them. We will analyze cloning using the example of my Honor View 20, which supports this function.

How to create a WhatsApp clone on Android

  • Go to "Settings" and open the "Applications" section;
  • Find the "Clone Application" tab here and run it;

Many smartphones allow you to run WhatsApp twice

  • In the window that opens, find the WhatsApp application and enable the duplicate function;
  • After that, a second WhatsApp will appear on the desktop, where you can log in from another number and use it as an alternative.

Huawei introduced a service to install WhatsApp, Instagram and other prohibited applications

However, if your smartphone does not support duplication of applications by default, you can use a third-party utility that serves the same purpose. In fact, there are quite a few programs that create a copy of already installed applications and allow you to run them separately from the main one. However, I chose DualSpace because of its simplicity and convenience. It is implemented in the format of a folder where you can add clones of all installed applications. That is, in fact, a virtual area is created on the device, from which copies of third-party or standard software are launched.

How to install a second WhatsApp on Android

  • Download DualSpace from Google Play to your smartphone;
  • Run it and grant the required privileges;

If your smartphone cannot duplicate applications by default, download a special utility

  • In the window that opens, click "+" and create a WhatsApp clone;
  • Launch WhatsApp and log in with a new number.

DualSpace is free by default, but you can purchase a paid version if you wish. It allows you to create several accounts even within the virtual space in order to be able to quickly switch between them and have access to several application clones, and also removes all ads, which I personally found completely unobtrusive while using DualSpace. However, if you are not interested in these benefits, I see no reason to pay.

Duplication of applications is a completely banal feature that many have not even heard of

Yes, everything is really very simple. Now, in order to access WhatsApp clone , you will need to open the DualSpace folder and launch the messenger from there. After you pass authorization in it, you will no longer need to do this again at each start. In this case, notifications will come in the same way, both from the main application and duplicated, appearing in the notification shade. You will only have to behave carefully enough so as not to confuse the addressees and not send the message “by”.

We collected all the ways

Due to the fact that over the past six months a large number of applications have disappeared from the Google Play branded application store, users have logical problems with updating them. Moreover, new functions are not the most important thing that smartphone owners have lost. With each update, banking applications enhance the security of user funds and close old vulnerabilities. And these updates are seen as the most important for everyone who uses such programs. But Android, unlike iOS, has one interesting feature that will make it very easy to find a way out of this situation.

How to get 2 WhatsApp numbers with WhatsApp Plus

To have two WhatsApp numbers with WhatsApp Plus, you will need to install other WhatsApp mods or use any of the options to clone or duplicate existing applications on that operating system. However, any of these methods require to have two working phone numbers, either on a mobile phone with two SIM cards or on two smartphones.

Method 1: WhatsApp Plus and another mod

The first method is to use WhatsApp Plus and another WhatsApp mod, such as GBWhatsApp or OGWhatsApp. Unfortunately, it is not possible to use two numbers with WhatsApp Plus and the official WhatsApp Messenger app because the system does not allow you to install both apps at the same time.

Download and install WhatsApp Plus first. You can do this through the green Download button available at the end of this tutorial. After that, run the installation as you would normally do with any other Android app.

WhatsApp Plus download button

With the app installed, you just need to register your first phone number to set it up and make it work.

Setting up the first phone number in WhatsApp Plus

Then you must repeat the procedure with any of the available mods. We recommend using GBWhatsApp or OGWhatsApp, although you can choose either. Although, we can't 100% assure you that it will work properly, apart from these two options that we offer you, and we have verified that they work. Start by downloading the APK file of the app you want through the suggested options right here below.

Configure a second client with your second phone number. Make sure the number is working to receive a confirmation message.

Setting up a second phone number in GBWhatsApp

From now on you will have two working numbers, one with WhatsApp Plus and the other with another mod of your choice.

Method 2: clone applications

The second method is to clone the application, in this case WhatsApp Plus. This can be done either from the phone itself (some manufacturers have their own tool for this), or through the operating system tools (latest versions of Android allow you to work with different user profiles), or using the third-party Parallel Space app, which basically offers the same functions, which is our first option for phones that don't come with this feature.

  • Built-in app cloning : Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, OnePlus or Oppo are phone manufacturers that have their own app cloning tool in the operating system. This tool is usually called Clone Apps or Dual Apps and is usually found in Android settings. If you have one of these phones, check if your operating system version has this option. If so, go to it: it should offer you a list of apps that you can clone, which should include WhatsApp Plus. Clone it. Returning to the application menu, you will see two WhatsApp Plus icons, the second one is new and with a padlock symbol. Open the app and you will notice that you have a second WhatsApp Plus in front of you which you have to set up. All you have to do is register your second phone number and enter a verification code to have two WhatsApp Plus with different numbers on the same device.
  • User Profiles : In Android version 5.0 Lollipop and above, it is now possible to create multiple users for a single device. Navigate to the notification menu from Home by swiping from top to bottom and repeat the action to extend the display of the notification bar and quick settings. Among all the icons, you will see the classic bust of a person, that is, the user icon: click on it. A new menu will appear where you can see the user you are using... as well as Add guest and Add User . Create a new user by clicking the + button. To set up a new user, you will need a Google account, not the one you use with your main account. Now download WhatsApp Plus and install it as usual. Register your second phone number, this means you have completed the setup of two WhatsApp Plus. Of course, when using this method, you need to switch between accounts in order to be able to read and send messages from one or the other.
  • Parallel Space : This app allows you to clone apps by itself, being the best possible alternative to the manufacturers options we mentioned in the first case if your phone doesn't have this feature. It duplicates an already installed application, such as WhatsApp Plus.
