How to find out the phone number of an Instagram account owner: personal experience

I tell you how to break through a phone number using only social networks, Google and your resourcefulness. More precisely, how to find out the phone number, first name, last name, email address and city of residence, if there is only the name of the Instagram account.
In this article I will try to convey to you one simple truth - the Internet knows everything about you . I will show you how you can find out the necessary information about a person with just one nickname on Instagram. It so happened that I empirically figured out how to find out the phone number of the right person, without having almost any. Of course, this example is not an "instruction". It will simply show that with great desire and perseverance, almost everything can be found on the Internet .
I will not name specific accounts, names, services, so as not to disclose personal information. All names and nicknames are fictitious, coincidences are random.
1. Why did I need this?
Like many other people, at one time I got excited about creating an Instagram account that could be monetized. There was an idea to create a city account. First of all, I wanted to get a nickname in the form of @kyiv @moscow and so on. It seemed to me at the time that this was the path to “success.”
2. First steps
I started looking for accounts with names that were not used for commercial purposes, and I found one. We will conditionally call him @odessa
It was an account with the same name of one of the cities in Ukraine, which was practically not used. By all indications, the owner of the account lived in the United States. Photos of the streets, geotags confirmed this.
3. How to get in touch with the owner?
The first thing I asked in Direct was whether the account owner would like to sell his nickname. Messages were not even read.
Since the owner did not answer, I looked at who likes his posts most often, and wrote to these people, maybe they will tell you his name and how to get in touch with him.
A lot of people answered me within 2 days. Almost everyone said the same thing - I don’t know who it is, and I don’t remember why I subscribed to . But still, one girl gave an answer, which later was decisive in this story.
The content of the message was something like this:
Hello, I have been talking with this person for a very long time, his last name seems to be Galatyuk, or Khalatyuk, I don’t remember exactly.
4. There is a first clue
For the next few days, all I did was try to find this person in social networks. I searched on Facebook, Google, Vkontakte. Upon request, it gave out several pages of people who were inactive.
How to find exactly “Khalatyuk” or “Galatyuk”?
I did the following:
I went to Instagram -> chose - Forgot password -> Entered the name of the account that I was interested in -> I was offered to recover the password by mail, smearing almost all the letters, for example b******* n@gmail.
com
Why did I need this? I got a piece of the puzzle. After this procedure, I simply entered the combination of the owner's last name + @gmail.com into Google. For example, it looked like this:0003
And so dozens of different options. In the end, in the issuance of Google, I saw the text: Victor Halatyuk [email protected]. This data was posted on some site in the public domain.
As a result, the first and last names matched the intended mail ( b*******[email protected] - [email protected] ).
5. How do I know who owns the mail? Is this Viktor the owner of the account I'm interested in?
To find out the owner of the mail, I used one of the life hacks:
Go to Facebook -> Click "forgot password" -> Enter mail -> Gives out a page of a person with a vowel "this is not you"?
In the end, yes, it was Viktor Galatyuk.
I went to his page and found photos from the same places where the photos were taken, which were published in the Instagram account I needed.
There was no doubt that this particular person was the owner of @odessa.
6. What's next?
After all these manipulations, I had the following information:
- Name and Surname of the account owner
- His mail, which is linked to the Facebook and Instagram account that I was interested in.
I wrote messages to the owner by mail and Facebook with an offer to buy a nickname, but he did not answer anywhere, he was offline.
After these failures, I got back to Google.
Few people know, but you still need to be able to use a search engine is "correct" to enter requests . Write queries in “quotes” - this way answers with exact matches will be issued, interchange words in different ways, and so on.
In my case, I tried about a hundred options, and in the end I came across a site that had an exact match of the first name, last name, email that I entered.
( Yes yes, don't be surprised, this happens very often )
I understand that this site belongs to some government agency in America (tax, insurance or something like that). Most likely, this person many years ago moved from Ukraine to America for permanent residence and was entered in this register.
In addition to this information, the site indicated the state, city, street in which Victor was registered. So? How to find out the phone number of an unknown person? It is probably easier to find out the owner by phone number, but this task turned out to be feasible.
I continued to manipulate Google already with new information. As a result, I managed to get a mobile phone number, , which was posted by Victor on one of the bulletin boards in America.
7. End of story
In just a couple of minutes, I was convinced that this number belongs to him (how to find out who owns a phone number is a separate issue). I will write about how to search for a person by phone number in the next article: the fact is that it can be more difficult to find out whose number it is when it already exists.

In just a few days, after asking a few people one question, after a good "Googling" I found almost all the personal information about a person who lives 15,000 kilometers away from me. Ingenuity and perseverance helped to figure out how to find out the phone number of this person.
If it seems to you that this is an isolated case, and your personal data is securely protected, this is a delusion.
Having correctly “googled” my phone number, I found my personal data on a foreign website, namely, name, surname, country, city, place of registration. Although this information was indicated by me only at the time of registration in a major Internet banking in my country.
