You can typically recognize a suggested post in your Instagram feed because it's posted by an account you don't follow. A suggested post will also feature a reason above the post for why it's appeared in your feed. If you don't like suggested posts interrupting the content your friends are posting, you have two options: You can customize posts suggested to you or you can snooze suggested posts for 30 days. Until Instagram unveils the option to turn off suggested posts, that's the best you can do. We will walk you through both ways to manage suggested posts.

How to customize your suggested posts:

1. Tap the three dots in the right-hand corner of a suggested post

You can identify a suggested post because it will be labeled "Suggested post" or it will have a description of why it is on your feed above the post. The username that posted the suggested post will also have the follow button next to it.

Step 1: Open the Instagram app on Android or iOS.

Step 2: Tap on your profile icon on the bottom right corner of the app.

Step 3: Now, tap on the burger menu icon on the top right corner of the app.

Step 4: At the bottom, tap on the Settings option.

Step 5: Now tap on the Security option.

Step 6: Under the Data and History section, look for the Search History option and tap on it.

Step 7: Now tap on the Clear All option.

Step 8: Now, you will get a prompt asking if you want to clear your search history. Tap on the Clear All option.

How to change the Explore section on Instagram

Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your Android or iOS smartphone.

Step 2: Tap on the magnifying glass search icon in the bottom row of the app.

Step 3: Next, select a post that you do not like.

Step 4: Now, tap the three-dot menu icon of the particular post.

Step 5: Now, tap on the Not Interested button and the post will be removed from the feed.

The “Recommendations” section on Instagram is a list of users who may be of interest to the profile owner. The system selects prospective subscriptions and friends who are similar in Interests, hashtags and geographic location.

How to clear recommendations

The Recommended Users and Links category is based on search queries, pages visited and interests. There are two types: promoted posts and pages.

The category of Instagram profiles that appear in Featured are:

Facebook contacts. If the second profile is connected, the system will recommend subscribing to friends and acquaintances;
users who are followed by one of the "Best Friends";
subscribers without reciprocal subscription.

"Recommended" is needed by those who are engaged in promotion on the Internet: looking for potential customers, studying competitors. You cannot remove a section without business consequences, but you can clear the list of suggested pages.

To clear recommendations on Instagram, you need to get rid of previous requests:

Log in to Instagram.
Go to the section " Search " - click on the input line.
