How do you hide your facebook page

How to Hide Myself From Users on Facebook | Small Business

By Jason Spidle

Facebook provides a full range of privacy tools that enable you to control who can see your profile, pictures and status updates. With these privacy tools, you can completely hide your profile from other users on Facebook. Depending on your needs, you can either hide your profile from specific users or you can configure your profile to be invisible to everyone except friends or friends of friends. On the other hand, if you only want to hide your profile when you are signed out, you can do so by deactivating your account.

Hide From Specific Users

  1. Navigate to Facebook and sign in to your account.

  2. Click the arrow to the right of the "Home" menu and select "Privacy Settings" from the drop-down menu.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Manage Blocking" in the Blocked People and Apps section.

  4. Type the name or email of the user you want to hide your profile from in the "Block Users" section and then click "Block. " If you are blocking a user by name, you may be presented with a list of users with that name from which you will need to press the "Block" button beside the specific user you want to block.

Hide From Public Searches

  1. Navigate to Facebook and sign in to your account.

  2. Click the arrow next to the "Home" menu and select "Privacy Settings" from the drop-down menu.

  3. Click "Edit Settings" in the "How You Connect" section.

  4. Click the "Who can look up your profile by name or contact info?" drop-down menu and select "Friends of Friends" or "Friends" to limit the people who can view your Facebook profile. This hides your profile from being visible in public searches on Facebook or from search engines like Google.

  5. Click "Done" to save your settings.

Hide When Signed Out

  1. Navigate to Facebook and sign in to your account.

  2. Click the arrow to the right of the "Home" menu and select "Account Settings" from the drop-down menu.

  3. Select the "Security" tab and then click "Deactivate Your Account."

  4. Select "This is temporary, I'll be back" and then click "Confirm."

  5. Enter your Facebook password and then click "Deactivate Now." You will be signed out of Facebook and your profile is hidden from everyone on Facebook. Reactivate your account by signing in as usual from the Facebook home page.

How to Make a Facebook Business Page Private in 2 Ways

  • You can make a Facebook business page private by unpublishing it, which will make it invisible to the public.
  • To make a Facebook business page private, head to your page's settings menu using the Facebook app or website.
  • Making a Facebook business page private is especially helpful for when you need to make edits or update information, but don't want anyone to view the page half-finished.
  • Visit Business Insider's Tech Reference library for more stories.

To make a Facebook page private, you'll have to unpublish it — this will give you time to make changes without the public seeing. To unpublish a Facebook business page, you'll have to head to its settings on either your mobile app or desktop browser.

Unpublishing it will render it temporarily private, and you can publish it again at any time. You may find this feature helpful when you need to make edits — whether they are quick fixes or major updates to the page.

Unfortunately, there's no option to make a Facebook business page permanently private to only certain people, as the point of a business page is to promote something to the public. If you're interested in making a more exclusive space, you may want to create a private event or group instead.

It's also important to note that people who have roles on the business page will still be able to view it, regardless of whether it's unpublished or not.

Here's how to unpublish your Facebook business page using the Facebook website on your Mac or PC, or the Facebook app on your iPhone or Android device.

Facebook has launched a new feature for Ukrainians: hiding a profile from strangers

Ukrinform

The social network Facebook has given Ukrainian users the opportunity to hide their profiles from people who are not their friends.

According to Ukrinform, Nathaniel Gleicher, Head of the Facebook Security Policy Department, announced this on Twitter. nine0005

“This is a tool for people in Ukraine that allows you to close an account with one click, quickly applying existing and new privacy settings. When a profile is closed, people who are not friends will not be able to upload or share profile photos or see feed posts,” Gleicher said.

According to him, this feature was first launched in Afghanistan in the summer of 2021.

To close your profile, click the three-dot symbol below the profile owner's name, then click Close Profile. When a window opens asking you to confirm the action, click the "Close profile" button again. nine0005

Gleicher added that Facebook has also set up a special center to respond to the war in Ukraine. In response to the unfolding military conflict in Ukraine, we have created a Special Operations Center for real-time response. It employs experts - including native speakers - which allows us to monitor the situation and respond as quickly as possible,” said Facebook's head of policy.

As Ukrinform reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared war on Ukraine on February 24 and launched an invasion of the country. nine0005
