1. How to Search for GIFs in Telegram Chats

On an iPhone, tap the sticker in the chat bar. If using Android, tap either the smiley, sticker, or GIF icon in the chat bar, depending on which one you used last. Next, select the "GIF" tab if it's not already open, and tap in the "Search GIFs" field (if you don't see it, pull-down to reveal it). Telegram's GIF search will appear, so use the keyboard to type in a keyword for whatever you need. Results appear right away, so no need to tap a search button or anything.

Now, before you tap on a GIF you like, know that once you do, it automatically sends to the person or group you're chatting with. Additionally, it will save the GIF to your list of "Saved GIFs" below the search bar. Before committing, you can preview the GIF in a larger form by long-pressing on it, and with your finger still on the image, slide up where you can tap on "Send" or "Send GIF" if satisfied.

Using the long-press-and-swipe-up gesture on a GIF, you can also reveal the option to "Save GIF" or "Save to GIFs" on iOS and Android, respectively.

How to Remove GIFs from Your Saved List

Saved GIFs, whether saved manually or automatically, appear in the "GIF" tab. It can be convenient to save GIFs for later use, but sometimes a GIF is only good once. If you want to get rid of any, you can easily do so by long-pressing on the GIF. Once you see it "pop" above the page, swipe up, and tap "Delete." Poof — your GIF will disappear immediately, no need to confirm.

2. How to Search for Stickers in Telegram Chats

Searching for stickers is a tad more complicated than GIFs, although it doesn't seem like it's meant to be. To find stickers on iOS, tap the sticker in the chat bar. If using Android, tap either the smiley, sticker, or GIF icon in the chat bar, depending on which one you used last. From here, things are a little different from Android to iOS.

Method 1: On an Android Phone

Tap the tab with the sticker icon, if it's not already there. If you don't have any saved sticker sets yet, you can only browse trending sticker packs or perform a search by tapping the magnifying glass icon in the bottom left. If you do have sticker packs already, you can hit that magnifying glass, but you can also pull down the current sticker pack to unhide the "Search sticker sets" field.

Type a keyword, then when you find a pack you like, tap "Add," and it's instantly added. You can browse your sticker packs at the top of the stickers menu — select an icon to view that pack or hit the sticker icon with the + (plus) sign in it to browse trending sticker packs.

Once you have a sticker pack or two, when on the stickers tab, you'll see them as new options up top by the trending stickers option. Tap one, then on the sticker you want to send. Like GIFs, stickers will instantly send when tapped.

Method 1: On an iPhone

You need to have a sticker pack already added to search for other sticker packs. Tap the tab with the trending sticker icon (a circle with a zig-zagging arrow), if it's not already there. Browse and add one from the trending packs by tapping "Add" (you can delete this later).

Next, tap on the new sticker pack tab that appears. Swipe down on the list, and you'll find the "Search Stickers" field. Now, just search as you would for a GIF, and tap "Add" when you like one.

Once you have a sticker pack or two, when on the stickers tab, you'll see them as new options up top by the trending stickers option. Tap one, then on the sticker you want to send. Like GIFs, stickers will instantly send when tapped.

Method 2: On Both Android and iOS

Additionally, you can use emojis in the "Search Stickers" field, but more importantly, you can just type in emojis in the regular chat box without entering the stickers tab, and sticker suggestions will appear above the keyboard. If this doesn't work for you, from the sticker tab, tap on the cog icon to bring up the chat settings, then select "Suggest Stickers by Emoji," and choose whether you want it for all sets or just your added sets.

Tap a sticker to add it to a chat right away, or long press on it to see the "View Sticker Set" (iOS) or "View Pack" (Android) option where you can see the rest in the pack. If you do the latter, you can tap "Add # Stickers" to add them. You can also long-press on a sent sticker to bring up the "View Sticker Set" option (iOS only) or tap on it to get "Add # Stickers" right away.

How to Archive & Delete Sticker Packs

If you want to delete that dummy pack you used on iOS, or if you just want to remove any stickers you're tired of on either platform, you can do so easily. First, tap the settings cog from the stickers tab.

On an iPhone:

On iOS, swipe slowly left on or tap the red button next to the sticker pack you want to delete and tap "Delete." Alternatively, swipe-left quickly on the sticker pack to get rid of it. Either way, you need to confirm with "Delete" on the action sheet, but you can also select "Archive" which hides the pack but keeps in on file.

On an Android phone:

On Android, tap the vertical ellipsis on the right side of the sticker pack you want to delete, then tap "Remove," and it'll disappear right away. You can also select "Archive" which hides the pack but keeps in on file.

How to Manage Your Archived Stickers

If you archived the sticker pack, you'll find it under "Archived Stickers" in sticker settings. You can restore the sticker pack by tapping the slider (Android) or the plus button (iOS). On iOS, you can delete the pack by swiping left quickly on it, by swiping left slowly and hitting "Delete," or by doing either of those after tapping "Edit" where you can also tap the red button followed by "Delete. How to use GIF animation in Telegram

GIF animations are special animated images saved in the GIF graphic format. Unlike ordinary static pictures and photos, they can be used to convey more different emotions due to the fact that the image will be moving, like a video. Such animated pictures are very popular and most often are of a humorous nature. Naturally, messengers could not bypass them either. Millions of GIFs are sent through these messaging programs every day.

In today's article, we will look at how to use GIF animation in Telegram. We will learn more about how to find the desired gif using the application's regular tools, how to send and save animation to the memory of your device. We will also talk about the features of working with GIF animation on the iOS operating system.

Features of GIF-animation in Telegram

GIF could be sent via Telegram from the very first day the program was launched, just like any other file. Since such a picture can weigh quite a lot, and very often it is created on the basis of several ordinary photographs, at first they heavily loaded Telegram devices and servers, and also consumed a lot of traffic.

But relatively recently, a new algorithm for working with GIF files has been developed, due to which the speed of their processing has increased by 20 times. Due to what? The file began to be converted to the MPEG4 video format, due to which it began to take up 95% less memory space while maintaining the original quality. Isn't it wonderful? In addition, the capabilities of the program provide for the simultaneous viewing of many GIFs without the need to download them first.

How to find and send a GIF file

If you already have a lot of GIF animations stored on your device, sending one of them through the Telegram messenger will not be difficult. You can simply add a file to the chat by clicking on the paperclip icon. But if there is no such file, you can search for it on the Internet directly through the program menu. Depending on the platform you are using, the steps for submitting will be slightly different. Let's take a closer look.

On mobile devices

  1. In any chat, group or individual, press the paperclip icon to launch the file type selection menu. In addition to media files, you can use this menu to send a contact and location, and launch the camera.

    File type selection menu

  2. Select "Gallery", then either select a file stored in the device's memory, or press the "SEARCH GIF" button.

    Select a file to send

  3. In the search bar, enter a search query, preferably in English. Practice shows that in Russian the search practically does not work.
  4. Select the desired GIF and click the "Submit" button. One send allows you to transfer multiple files at a time.

Any platform

  1. In any chat, type @gif followed by space. The application will immediately open all system animations.
  2. If these are not enough for you, after the @gif command, enter your search query.
  3. Select the GIFs you want and send them to the chat.

How to save a GIF

In addition to instantly sending gif animations, the files you send can be saved for later use. Let's look at a few ways how this can be done.

Method 1. Save to GIF

This method allows you to save a GIF sent or received from another user in the program menu for further use without the need to search. In the future, you can get quick access to them in the stickers and emoticons selection menu.

  1. After you send or receive a GIF message, click on the three vertical dots if you're using the mobile version, or right-click if you're using the desktop version, and select "Save to GIF".
  2. To use the saved gifs later, in the text input bar, click on the sticker selection icon, after which you can see the saved gifs in the corresponding section.

Method 2. Save as

This method allows you to save any gif in your device's memory and use it in any other application if necessary.

  1. After you send or receive a GIF message, click on the three vertical dots if you're using the mobile version, or right-click if you're using the desktop version, and select Save As. The file will be saved in MP4 format.
  2. Select a folder in the device's memory and click the "Save" button.

How to save GIFs to iPhone

With the release of iOS 11, Apple has resolved a perennial problem where the default gallery was unable to play animated images. Yes, the gif could be added to the gallery, it was stored and displayed in the feed, but instead of enjoying the moving image, the user could only see the static picture. Now that's all behind us, and the saved gifs are stored in a separate "Animated" folder. If your iPhone does not support the latest version of iOS, you have no choice but to use third-party GIF viewers to see the files that have been saved to your iPhone normally.

Conclusion

The developers of the Telegram messenger have made life much easier for lovers of animated pictures. Now, to quickly find and send an interesting GIF, just use the standard tools of the application. Please tell us in the comments how often you submit animations.

GIFs for Telegrams | How to send GIF to Telegram

Telegram GIFs are cool! We will tell you how to send, save and add new Gif pictures to Telegram!

Let's start! Thanks to GIF compression in Telegram, animations can be sent much faster and easier: no complicated actions or big efforts are required.

All files were recoded by Telegram to mpeg4 format - this greatly affected the speed of their sending and the amount of traffic required to complete this action.

A notable feature is that, despite minimizing the speed, gifs do not lose their quality. Let's figure out how to add GIF files to Telegram.

A real revolution in GIF technology in Telegram

First you need to open a common dialog box with all Telegram contacts and chats displayed in it.

  1. Having opened a dialogue with a certain interlocutor, you must enter the query “@gif” in the search bar. Please note that you need to put a space and then "Search GIFs" will appear. If you want to find a specific gif, then just enter a query, for example "cars"
  2. GIF files will be provided in the window that appears. You can attach them to the message by clicking on the "Save" button. In this case, the gif you selected in Telegram is automatically moved to the dialog and sent to the recipient.

Features of sending gifs in Telegram:

  • A package with multiple gif attachments. It is noteworthy that now it is possible to add several GIF materials to Telegram at once. To send such a message, you must select several materials at once and attach them to one message;

  • Convenient location. For the greatest convenience, attaching gifs can be done from your saved materials or gallery. To select the required gif, you will be provided with both a general gallery and a package of Telegram system animations;
  • Facilitate the selection of requested content. Now you don't have to open each GIF individually, spend time studying and viewing it in detail. In the Telegram attachment menu, where all system animations are located, you can view several gifs at once. Also, if this function seems inconvenient to you, you can get rid of it by changing the data in the “settings” column;
  • Large assortment of gifs. When entering a particular request, Telegram provides a huge number of gif files on all topics;
