Launch WhatsApp on your Android. Open the chat thread from which you want to delete the message.
Check and note down the exact date and time of the message when it was sent. You will see the time mentioned next to the message. For date, scroll up a bit and note down the first date that you find in the middle of the chat.

Whatsapp has a method to remove the time limit to delete unwanted messages. This tricky deletion method makes it possible to return to the past and clear the history of the dialogue.
Android
After 68 minutes after sending, voice messages can be deleted from the chat if you follow this algorithm:
- Go to the "Settings" tab on your smartphone, which has a gear sign.
- Turn off the Internet or set the flight mode.
- Select the setting “Network date and time” and deactivate automatic data update.
- Manually set the date and time before the first message to be removed. The time should be set earlier than the desired one by at least an hour.
- Send text, video and files from the application to the trash.
- Restore original date and time settings and deactivate flight mode.
You can remove text, an obsolete link, or an image this way.
Turn off the automatic time detection function on your smartphone.
iOS
A sent message on an iPhone will disappear from the chat history forever if you do the following:
- Activate airplane mode or turn off the Internet.
- Go to the "Basic" tab of your Apple account.
- Select date and time settings.
- Disable the “Automatic” option next to the “Date and time” item.
- Click on the current date and time.
- Scroll the drums with the date, hours and minutes and correct the time before the date of sending.
- Erase all unwanted messages, photos or media files.
- Restore network settings, date and time.

If the interlocutor performs such manipulations in a dialog or chat, the text, audio or video file delivered to the user will be deleted, and a corresponding notification will appear in its place.
Other conditions and features of this option in WhatsApp
We have already said about the need to install the latest version of the program for the option to work successfully.
But there is one more condition: the message must be sent no later than 60 minutes ago. Is it possible to delete a message in Whatsapp until it has been read, but on the condition that more than an hour has passed? No, in this case, you can only erase the text on your own. You also need to keep in mind that:
- If you delete messages in WhatsApp from the interlocutor before they have been read, there will be no trace of them.
- If the entire chat has been read, then the opponent's text you wrote will be replaced with "This message has been deleted." The same applies to correspondence in the group
- If the option did not work for some reason, then there will be no notification about this. That is, on your part, everything will pass in the normal mode, and nothing will change for the interlocutor.

Life hack for working with group chats
Sometimes it takes a lot of time to find what you wrote in a general chat. In order not to engage in endless rewinding of the dialogue tape, find your messages with a search. For this:
- Click on the “Menu” button (the panel above the general chat).
- Select the line “Search”.
- In the search bar, enter the word or phrase that is in the search text.
- Press the “Magnifier” icon (found on the keyboard).
The tape will automatically rewind and all matches will be highlighted. If you delete a message in Whatsapp in this way, will it be deleted from the interlocutor (s)? If less than a chat has passed, then yes.
Move messages between devices
In the event of a change of smartphone, you can easily copy all chats and messages to a new gadget.
To do this , install the messenger on the second device and log in (on both smartphones you need to log in to Whatsapp under the same cell numbers).
Then move the files from the Databases directory from the old gadget to the new one. Next, restore from an existing backup.

Retrieve deleted media files and attachments
The standard Whatsapp backup contains only text content, that is, simple messages and chains of related letters indicating the author and date of sending.
Attachments of media files and office documents are not saved, and often because of them there is a need to return chats.
Follow instructions:
- All attachments that you have ever received and opened on your device are saved to the memory card in the Whatsapp/Media folder. When deleting a letter with an attachment, the corresponding file is cleared from the directory. If you have deleted the chat, but have not yet closed the program, this file will still be in the Media folder - minimize the messenger and find a picture, video or office document through the PC;
