If someone other than you has gained access to your Fortnite account, we strongly recommend that you immediately take steps to ensure its security.


What should I do if my Fortnite account has been hacked or is at risk of being hacked?

If your account has been hacked or is at risk of being hacked, the first step is to change your password. When you change your password, users who are logged into the Epic Games website with your account will be automatically logged out. To change your password, do the following:

  • log in to your account;
  • go to the "Account" page;
  • select "Password and security";
  • Change your password in the "Change Password" section.

For the security of your account, choose a unique password that is different from the passwords of your other online accounts.

Now, if possible, it is necessary to unlink the associated console accounts. When you complete this action, users who have logged into the game on the console using your account will automatically leave it. To unlink linked console accounts, do the following:

We ask that you never share your Epic account information with anyone. We never ask you for passwords. People claiming to provide voiced special offers for Fortnite are actually scammers.


How can I find out about a possible danger?

There is a wonderful online service, Have I Been Pwned, which allows you to check if your email address has fallen into the wrong hands during data leaks. If you did, then you can assume that the corresponding password has become known to other persons. Change passwords for all accounts with this email address urgently (not just the Epic account!).

Even if your account information has not been stolen, this does not protect you from similar leaks in the future. Below we list the steps that will help you protect yourself from hacking. To get started, you can sign up for the Have I Been Pwned notification service and receive an immediate notification if your email address is included in the data uploads.
