How to see who liked your post on instagram
How to View Your Own Likes on Instagram
Most users on Instagram have built up a long list of “Likes” they made to other people’s posts.
You can still see your own “likes” on other posts through your account, even though Instagram is gradually eliminating like counts on posts worldwide. So, how do you see what you have liked? This article explains why you would want to review your old “Likes,” how to view them, and what you can do with them.
Why View Your “Liked” History on Instagram?
There are many reasons why you may wish to revisit content you’ve liked. They may provide helpful information such as timetables and significant updates. You may want to go back and read all of the new comments because they offer exciting discussions. You may even want to remove your like based on current affairs or situations.
How to View Your Like History on Instagram
Viewing your “Like” history for other people’s posts is relatively simple. With a few taps in the app, you can see what you’ve liked, up to the last 300 likes.
View Instagram posts you’ve liked using Chrome, Opera, or Other Browsers using Chromium
As of June 19, 2022, no extension works for viewing likes in a browser because Instagram is undergoing changes that affect extension functionality. Whether or not they changed their APIs used by third parties or found ways to restrict third-party access is unknown. It could also be the recent useability changes.
In any case, we only found one that partially worked and now isn’t working, for the most part. The Chrome extension is Layoutify. Feel free to try it, but the latest comments say it doesn’t work for likes and saves.
“Layoutify” Chrome Extension for Chrome
The developer of Layoutify tends to keep up with any changes Instagram makes, but it does experience hiccups at random times. In other words, this extension is updated regularly, unlike many extensions that are well over a year old since their last update. Here’s how to use it, but remember, it may not work when you try it.
- Open Chrome and go to the Instagram website. Log in if needed.
- Open a new tab and go to the Layoutify extension page.
- Click on “Add to Chrome.”
- In the popup window, select “Add extension.”
- Return to the Instagram tab and click on the “Refresh icon.” The page now changes to the Layoutify interface.
- Click on the “three horizontal dots” in the top-right section to open your like activity. You may need to refresh the page or click on the “Likes” link at the top.
- To view a page you liked, click on the posted date/time link in the post’s top-right section or click the “heart icon” to unlike it.
If Layoutify doesn’t work to display the content you liked, leave it for a few days or click on “Remove from Chrome” on the store page.
How to View Instagram Posts You Liked from the iPhone App
You first need to install the app on your iPhone and sign in to see the posts you’ve liked on Instagram. The steps to see your likes include the following:
- Tap on your “profile icon” in the bottom right corner.
- Tap on the “three horizontal lines” in the top-right corner.
- Choose “Your activity” from the settings options.
- Tap on “Interactions” within the “Your Activity” menu.
- Choose “Likes” within the “Interactions” menu.
- You will see all the posts you’ve liked recently, and you can now tap on any of them to view the post or unlike it.
If you remember the username of the person that made the post you’d like to revisit, you could search for the username in the search bar, open the profile, and scroll until you find the post. Depending on your activity level, that might be a few days or a few years. This option comes in handy when the liked post exceeds the 300 count limit.
How to View Instagram Posts You Liked from the Android App
Soon after Instagram launched for the iPhone, the Android version came out. If you have the app downloaded and signed in, the steps to see the posts you’ve liked are pretty much the same as for the iPhone.
- Tap on your “profile icon” located in the bottom-right corner.
- In the top-right corner, tap on the “three horizontal lines” (Settings).
- Select the “Your activity” option from the settings menu.
- Tap on “Interactions.”
- Select “Likes” from the “Interactions” menu.
- All posts you’ve liked recently (up to the last 300) appear. Tap on any of them to view the post or unlike it.
Keep in mind that you can only see the latest 300 posts. Use the search box for older posts you’ve liked, but you need to remember who posted it or remember keywords in the topic.
How to View Instagram Posts You Liked from a PC
Most people use a phone for Instagram, but you can also view what you’ve liked from your PC, including Windows, Linux, Chromebook, and Mac. You can’t see the posts you liked in a browser directly. Still, you can potentially view them using a browser extension, assuming the developer keeps up with Instagram changes and updates. You can also see what you’ve liked if an Instagram app is available for your OS. In addition, you can view posts you’ve liked using an emulator that simulates Android or iOS.
View Instagram posts you’ve liked using Windows
Like iOS and Android, Windows has an actual Instagram app in the Microsoft Store, which is your best option to view posts you liked. However, you can also install an Android or iOS emulator like BlueStacks (Android) and install the app there. Regarding browser extensions, Layoutify was one Chrome extension that provided your history of liked posts on Instagram. Currently, the changes made to Instagram are causing the extension not to work effectively. When we tried it on June 19, 2022, the “Likes” and “Saved” pages displayed nothing, and the latest reviews state that it is not working to see the pages you liked.
View Instagram posts you’ve liked using Mac
When it comes to mac, you have several options to view your liked Instagram history, including browser extensions (see separate section on browsers above), App Store apps, and Android/iOS emulators. The best option for Mac is to use “Grids – For Instagram” from the App Store.
App: ‘Grids – For Instagram’ for Mac
- Click on your “profile icon” at the top.
- Select the “Liked” link in the navigation menu below the profile section.
- Browse through the posts you liked and click on them to view them or remove the “Like.”
View Instagram posts you’ve liked using Linux
Linux does not have an app store, but you can try using the Chrome “Layoutify” extension (see details in the browser section above). You can also try installing an Android or iOS emulator and installing Instagram there.
View Instagram posts you’ve liked using Chromebook
Chromebook obviously uses the Chrome browser by default. Therefore, you can try the “Layoutify” extension, but remember that it currently appears to not work due to Instagram updates (June 19, 2022). However, it is best to use the Instagram app if your Chromebook supports the Play Store.
In closing, it only takes a few simple steps to access posts you’ve liked in the past. Keep in mind that you can only see the past 300 liked posts. So, if you don’t remember the username of the profile that posted the photo or if you haven’t saved the post, you may not be able to find it easily.
FAQs: Instagram Likes
How can I see the Instagram Likes I’ve received on my post?
The steps to see the likes you’ve gotten are as follows:
1. Go to your profile.
2. Tap the post you would like to check.
3. Under the photo, you will see the number of likes you have, or you will see one username and “others” written depending on your location.
4. Click on the “number of likes” or “others,” whichever appears for you.
5. A list of accounts that liked your post will appear.
6. Now, you can scroll down to see all the likes or use the search bar to check if specific users have liked your post.
You will get a notification for every new like if you’ve just uploaded a new photo. On the top right corner is a heart icon. A heart will appear under this icon whenever someone likes your post. You can tap on it to see all the recent activity on your profile, including likes, comments, and follows.
How can I prevent somebody from liking my picture?
You can either block somebody’s account or set your profile to a “Private” account.
By blocking somebody, they won’t be able to interact with your profile in any way. To do so, go to the user’s profile, tap on the three dots in the top right corner, and select “Block. ”
Changing your account to a private one allows you to control who can follow you, and only your followers can see your posts. To change your profile to a private account, follow these steps:
1. Select the “three lines” in the top-right section of your profile page.
2. Go to “Settings” and then “Account.”
3. Tap on “Switch to private Account.”
Can I see what other users have liked?
Older versions of Instagram had a special tab to see what the people you follow have liked, but this feature got removed. Now, you can only see if somebody you followed has liked a specific post in the same way you can see if somebody liked one of your posts.
Can I delete someone’s like from my post?
There is no direct way to remove likes from your posts. The only thing you can do is block the user, and the likes will automatically get removed.
How to See Likes on Instagram in 2022 (even hidden likes)
Instagram is famous for the heart button users can double-tap posts to show content some love. Until recently, like counts were public throughout the Instagram app, but changes are already happening.
Instagram has taken its community’s feedback on board1 and decided to become a place where people can comfortably express themselves without feeling pressured to generate high engagement.
The decision is part of the platform’s founders’ efforts to transform Instagram into a place where users can focus on the media they share – not the number of likes that might set them apart from more popular accounts.
Let’s take a closer look at how, exactly, these changes have been rolled out, how they are going to affect marketing on Instagram, and how to see likes on Instagram regardless of those changes (including hidden likes).

What has changed?
You may be wondering – why can’t I see likes on Instagram?
The changes come down to the fact that Instagram will no longer publicly display the number of likes generated by posts if a user chooses to hide likes on his IG posts.
This means that the exact number of likes given to any individual photo or video will only be known to the user who posted it.
Prior to Instagram’s updates, this is how the platform’s users would see how many likes a post has generated:
The New YorkerThe post-rollout view is different: the information beneath posts with multiple engagements mentions that the image or video has been “Liked by username and others.”
Instagram hiding likes – source: Bon AppetitThe word ‘others’ is a link that, once tapped, redirects to a complete list of users who have liked the post. It is, therefore, technically possible to manually count the number of likes of any given post – but, in the case of large posts with thousands (or millions!) of engagements, it would be a ridiculously tedious task.
The rollout started in Canada in April 2019. The update was later introduced in Ireland, Japan, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil.
Why is Instagram hiding likes?
Instagram is currently one of the world’s largest social media platforms. Focused on visual content, Facebook’s sister app has proven to have an enormous impact on modern culture.
Over the last decade, Instagram has been instrumental in shaping fashion and beauty trends. It was the birthplace of original, sometimes odd phenomena (virtual celebrities, pet influencers, and even the Instagram face).
It brought fame and money to many – and sparked the dream to pursue fame and money online in many more.
Finally, the platform played a substantial role in the creation of high-quality and aesthetic standards for what people share online.
Every Instagram user knows the seemingly effortless yet stunningly stylish snippets of other people’s daily lives (#iwokeuplikethis), travels, meals, and so on.
Unfortunately, not everyone is able to tell that some – if not most – of them are meticulously staged and hardly representative of anyone’s real life. Thanks, Dan Bilzerian!
The fact that professional influencers coexist with ‘casual’ users on the platform and the lines between both groups are blurred was bound to cause some issues.
With all content ‘judged’ with one universal tool – likes – Instagram has, over time, become a popularity contest of sorts.
And since certain lifestyles, beauty standards, and activities consistently collected higher numbers of likes than others, large parts of Instagram’s user community eventually started feeling insecure and inadequate about their own content, and, in consequence, their lifestyles, resources, and overall wellbeing.
This brings us to the point. The decision-makers at Instagram name their concern for the platform’s users’ mental health as the main reason to give users the possibility to hide likes. Adam Mosseri, Instagram’s CEO, tweeted:
Our interest in hiding likes really is just to depressurize Instagram for young people. It’ll likely effect how much some people engage on Instagram, probably liking a bit less and posting a bit more, but the main thing we’re trying to learn is how this effects how people feel.
So, to sum it up: Instagram is changing the way users view likes to bring back the joy of posting to those who were negatively affected by the competitive implications of publicly displayed engagement scores.
The platform’s management is hoping to see more users post regularly and publish what they truly want to share without worrying about how their content will be received and how it will rank against popular posts on Instagram.
How will businesses on Instagram be affected?
The way Instagram decided to look out for the mental health of its users is a much-needed act of social responsibility that will hopefully inspire other social media giants. But over the last few years, the platform has become more than just an outlet for self-expression.
In 2019, over 25 million brands big and small were using Instagram as part of their social media marketing strategies. How will Instagram’s decision to hide likes affect their efforts?
1. Tracking competitors on Instagram will change
Likes are a social media marketing metric that has traditionally been used to measure the success of Instagram content.
Brands will still be able to apply this to their own posts – as we mentioned before, every Instagram account owner will have access to the exact number of likes their posts generate.
But success is relative. Without being able to check in on how activations similar to yours are going on competitors’ accounts, how will you know whether your campaign is actually going well?

2. Assessing Instagram influencers will become more difficult
Engagement is also an important metric that defines the success of Instagram influencers. Brands are willing to invest significant sums into influencer campaigns if they know that the person they work with has a loyal and interactive following.
Without public access to the likes metric, the process of scouting influencers for paid campaigns and negotiating rates will likely become a bit more complicated.
3. No more buying likes
As Instagram became a popularity contest, the desire to collect high numbers of likes got out of hand. Several businesses bypassing Instagram’s terms of service and selling likes popped up, and many personal and business accounts used such services to boost their visible engagement and appear more credible on the platform.
Since likes are going to be less visible on Instagram, fake engagement will no longer serve its questionable purpose, and the shady practice of buying likes is bound to disappear naturally. Yay!
The solution on how to see Instagram likes again
Instagram is doing what it can to protect its community – and that’s great news. But the platform is not turning its back on businesses in the process, even if the implications discussed above might seem like a burden to marketers.
Here’s the thing: you will still be able to view Instagram likes, just not on Instagram.
While the vanity metric is no longer going to be a concern of the general public, marketers will be able to still access it through specialized social media management tools.
Here’s how to see Instagram likes – tools like NapoleonCat still allow you to view the exact numbers of likes – and other engagements – for any public Business or Creator Account you follow.
You will be able to see the number of Instagram likes for each post, and you’ll be able to set a completely custom time period for your analysis, too.
This means that you can still conduct a proper social media competitive analysis as well as verify whether what influencers tell you about their social performance is accurate.

Wrap up
Instagram’s decision to hide likes is rooted in how influential the platform has become for modern culture. And while experts predict the changes will have a positive effect on the platform’s users, the update will also pose some challenges for brands using Instagram as a marketing and sales tool.
Influencer marketing will have to adapt to the new reality – but specialized social media management tools with access to Instagram’s API will allow for a smooth transition.

Hello again, dear visitors of the blog “Cho?! What?!" Today we will raise such a topic as how to see likes on Instagram through a computer. "Hearts" is an eternal theme for all users of social networks, because every person wants ....

How to see the likes I've been given on Instagram
You can view a detailed list of those who liked your posts only in the official Instagram application from your gadget. Unlike the browser version on PC, which only shows the total number of "hearts" under the photo, the mobile version shows all the users who liked your post.
So, to see who liked your post, all you need to do is:
- click on the photo you posted;
- below it will be the inscription "Like", and next to it - the number of the total number of likes;
- click on the number and you will see the full list of users who have rated your entry.
Also, all actions of third-party users in relation to your Instagram account are displayed in the " Actions " tab. There you can see who last liked your posts, left comments on them or subscribed to you.
By the way, all users without exception can watch and like your publications only when your Instagram profile is open. Otherwise, you will first have to add the user as a friend. News about subscription requests if your page is closed will also appear in the Actions tab.
You can also see what your friends like. To do this, go from the "You" tab to the " Subscriptions " section at the top of the page.
How to see my likes set by other users
If you want to review other people's liked photos, you need to do the following:
- open the “Settings” section, scroll it all the way down;
- there, in the "Account" tab, find the "Publications Liked" function;
- click on them and you will see the last fifty photos that you liked.
Also from the same section you can go to any user. Also, if at the time you left a like, the photo was in the public domain, and later the owner restricted it, instead of posting, you will see an image of the castle.
Is it possible to watch likes on Instagram from a computer
Unfortunately not. From a computer, all you can see is just the total number of hearts left under your photo. A detailed report on all likes is available only from the application. The problem can only be solved by emulators of mobile gadgets installed on a PC - for example, such as BlueStaks , with which you can control your own phone while sitting from a computer.
As you can see, it's very easy to see the list of those who liked your publication or even admire those photos that you once left "hearts" with. Good luck in interacting with Instagram (see all posts about the social network here) - and, of course, more likes!

How to see your own and other people's likes on Instagram
Good afternoon, friends.
We continue to dive into the rules and features of working with social networks.
And today we will figure out how to see likes on Instagram. On the one hand, we want to know how many likes our posts have earned, and who exactly appreciated our photo work.
On the other hand, sometimes we remember an interesting photo or video that we didn't bookmark, but definitely liked, and there is a need to return to them and review, reread.
Therefore, let's consider the question from two sides: how to get information about your own and other people's likes.
Why study what posts other users like
Perhaps when you want to know who tags and comments on your posts and other people's photos, you are driven by simple curiosity.
But for those who promote their profile on Instagram and want to make money on a social network, the number of hearts under posts can say a lot:
- what topics and format of publications are most interesting to subscribers;
- which photos and videos were ignored. This information tells us that such material should not be posted in the future;
- what people like in the accounts of your competitors are ideas for a content plan;
- the number of active subscribers helps to analyze the pages. This is especially important if you want to advertise on Instagram bloggers and in thematic communities.
Studying the interest of the public helps to promote the page, attract new subscribers and grow your business. Posts with a lot of likes appear at the top of the feed and in the recommendations section of members of the target audience who have not yet followed you. Therefore, while you are only on the way to popularity, it makes sense to gradually wind up likes.
How to see who liked my photos and videos
If you want to see who liked a particular photo, tap on it in your profile and click on the "Like" caption.
In the window that opens, all the people who liked the post will appear, you can search for a specific person if you need.
The same actions can be done on the computer, only you need to click on the word “more”.
You can also find out who tagged photos and videos by clicking on the heart icon in the bottom bar of the app.
In the window that opens, you will see all notifications about likes and subscriptions.
If you click on the heart on the web version of Instagram, you can also get information about the actions of other people under your photos and videos: hearts, subscriptions, replies to comments.
How to see other people's photos tagged
It's as easy as finding out the people who rated your photo. Open the feed or a specific entry and click on the word “Like” followed by the number of likes.
A window will open showing all network users who have flagged this publication.
You can do the same in the web version, but first you need to like the photo yourself, and then click on the word “more” or “Like”.
How to find out the total number of hearts to your posts for a certain period
If you are serious about analyzing and promoting your Instagram page, it makes sense to transfer it from a personal to a business account. In this case, the “Statistics” section will appear in the menu.
This feature helps to study the actions of users under posts: marks, comments, saving to bookmarks and much more.
In addition, there are special applications and services that provide detailed statistics on your and other people's pages on the social network. Here are the most popular ones:
- LiveDune,
- Zengram,
- Popsters,
- Iconosquare.
Using these programs, you can analyze competitors and your activities, find people for cooperation and advertising in a social network, and improve performance.
Where to find your likes
To find out who you liked and what photo you liked, open Instagram on your phone and go to your personal section.
Go to menu and then to settings.
Open the "Account" item and tap on the inscription "Posts you like".
A window will open with the content you liked.
