Even if you accidentally delete something from yourself, you will not have a backup copy of the chats, but you will remember with whom you discussed important information, then there is always a chance to receive the desired message from the interlocutor, which he will send you from his version of the correspondence.

But still, for greater reliability, set regular backups in the settings, or at least install Viber associated with one number on the maximum number of devices - at least on your computer - to increase the likelihood that all correspondence will be saved on two different gadgets. Backup is the creation of duplicate files in case master instances are lost. Simply put, a person copies important information and stores it on a more reliable drive, cloud, server. If the main files are lost, it will be possible to restore them. Accordingly, duplicates must be updated regularly. Viber developers have taken care of users by creating a function to protect information from deletion. Correspondence, chats, all messages are stored in one file located on the Google Drive of the owner of the phone or other smartphone, flash drive, computer.

To protect yourself from losing all correspondence, you need to enable backup in Viber. Step by step instructions for older OS versions:

1. Launch the Viber messenger on your phone.
2. Enter the menu (button "More" at the bottom of the screen).
3. Open application settings by clicking on the gear icon.
4. Find "Calls and Messages".
5. In the tab that appears, click on the "Send message by e-mail" option.
6. The program will create a file with information (this may take up to 5 minutes). Then a window will pop up with possible options for transferring the backup: email or Bluetooth.

Please note. On different versions of Viber, the names of the options are different. On Android 4.x operating systems, in the fifth paragraph of the instruction, instead of "Send a message by e-mail" there may be a "Message Log".

The previous guide is for older versions of Android OS. You can create a backup of messages and chats on modern shells as follows:

1. Open the Viber app. Click "More" on the bar at the bottom of the window.
2. Enter parameters.
3. Find "Account" or "Account".
