Home How To Read WhatsApp messages secretly! Know how to Turn Off Read Receipts or 'Blue Ticks
Since its launch in 2009, WhatsApp has grown by leaps and bounds. It has become one of the most widely used apps in the world. It has a special feature that is quite useful sometimes. This is the WhatsApp read receipts, aka 'Blue Ticks' feature. It allows senders to see when their message has been read by the recipient. This feature can be useful for ensuring that important messages have been received and read by the person they have been sent to. Although this feature is useful in most situations, it can cause some privacy concerns. For example, if a user doesn't want to respond to a message he has already read, he may feel pressure to do so knowing that the sender knows it has been opened and read.
Fortunately, WhatsApp allows users to turn off read receipts. Therefore, users will still be able to read the message without the sender knowing whether the message has been read. Users should note that this won't disable the read receipts for group chats or play receipts for voice messages.

WhatsApp has message status reports that allow application users to judge whether their message has reached the recipient and whether it has already been read. Most modern instant messengers also have such a useful feature.
WhatsApp users are used to the fact that if a message is read, then two blue checkmarks appear next to it.
They are a guaranteed sign of a read. But what does it mean if you know for sure that the message you sent was read by the recipient, but the checkmarks in the messenger next to them did not turn blue. In this article, we deal with the issue of not matching the status of messages to reality.
Contents
Such a false status can appear for several reasons:
And below we will look at this in more detail.
Above, we wrote that each WhatsApp user has the ability to turn off the read receipt. Surely, you wondered how to enable this report if it was previously disabled. Let's see how to do it on a mobile device.
Here everything is simple and done in a few steps:
This option can be controlled only in the mobile version of the application. In the browser web version, as well as in the version installed on the computer, this is not possible.
The second reason we discussed above is the lack of internet. If there is no Internet, then the report, of course, will not be sent or delivered.
The Internet can be lost for your recipient not only by accident, but also specifically at his request. For example, if he does not want you to know that he has read the message, and at the same time he does not want to fiddle with privacy settings.
He can temporarily turn off the Internet for himself, read the message, and you will not receive a read receipt and the checkmarks will not be blue.

As soon as the Internet appears on the recipient's device, you will immediately receive a read receipt, even if the WhatsApp application is closed.
In total, there are three statuses that indicate a particular status of the message in WhatsApp:
