that in the Facebook Messenger app you have enabled the option to hide your active status? No, you are not crazy and are not at all alone: this happens to many and today we will tell you how to solve this problem.
And the problem is that if your smartphone or tablet, in addition to the messenger, also has a regular Facebook application, then their settings may conflict with each other.
In addition to the fact that the messenger has the ability to disable the display of your status on the Web, the same setting is available in the Facebook application itself, which can notify everyone separately from the messenger that you are online. This option is hidden deep enough in the settings and can easily be overlooked.
By now, you probably guessed it, solving the problem of showing your status is very simple: all you need to do is go to the Facebook settings menu -> “Settings and privacy” -> “Settings”:
Here, scroll through the list of options to the “Online Status” item, tap it and switch the “Show me that you are online” switch in the window that opens to the “Off” position.
Of course, you will need to make sure that Facebook Messenger's online status mode is turned off.
To do this, open the application and click on your profile icon in the upper left corner of its main screen to enter the application settings. Find the “Online status” option in them and click on it to open the corresponding section. Here you just need to toggle the "Show when you're active" switch to the off position.
That's it, from now on your status will be completely hidden from everyone and no one else will know when you were online, chatting with someone or just browsing the news.

Where it appears
The "online" mark on facebook looks traditional: a glowing green dot next to the user's name.
However, it is not visible everywhere.
When you open an account, you can't find any mention of the time of the last visit, this can only be determined indirectly: when the last post was made, a new friend was added, or reactions were left (but only if the user made this information public).
You can definitely see if there is a person on the social network at the moment, only in chats on the site or in the messenger:
