How to make all members of whatsapp group admin

How to add an admin in WhatsApp

Do you need some help in managing your group members in WhatsApp? Do you want another admin that can help you invite and remove users from the conversation? If so, you can promote one of your group members to an admin on WhatsApp. Follow our guide below, and we’ll show you how to manage your admins on WhatsApp.

Tutorial

Creating a group on WhatsApp makes you an admin of the chat automatically. You have the permission to manage the group settings and information, including removing and inviting new members.

As your group chat grows, you might encounter difficulties in filtering out content and group members. When that happens, you can assign a few more admins to the group to help you manage the group.

Here’s our guide about adding new admins to your group in WhatsApp.

How to add a new admin to your WhatsApp group

If you’re having trouble managing a group in WhatsApp, you can promote a member to an admin. In this way, the new admin can help you manage the members and remove unwanted users from the conversation.

You can add an admin to a group whether you’re using WhatsApp on your desktop or mobile device. In our tutorials below, we’ll cover the steps to do it on both.

On your phone:
  1. Launch WhatsApp from your home screen or app drawer and sign in to your account.
  2. Open the group you want to manage and tap its name on the conversation header. Alternatively, you can tap the three dots icon on the top right corner of the chat and select “Group info” on the menu.

  3. On the conversation info page, select Group Settings.

  4. Tap the “Edit group admins” option.

  5. Select the member you want to promote to an admin and tap the checkmark on the bottom right corner of the screen.

That’s how you add new admins to your group in WhatsApp. These new admins can invite or remove regular members from the group conversation.

When you create a group on WhatsApp, you automatically become an admin for the chat. No other admin can remove you from the conversation, and you’ll stay one unless you leave the group chat.

On the WhatsApp desktop app:
  1. Go to one of the group chats you want to manage and click its name on the conversation header. Alternatively, you can tap More options (three dots icon) on the top right corner and select “Group info” from the menu.

  2. Select Group Settings from the conversation info window.

  3. Click the “Edit group admins” option.

  4. Select the member that you want to promote to an admin and tap the check on the bottom right to save the changes.

As the group owner, you have permission to remove admin rights from any member of your group. Other admins can’t remove your status as the owner and admin of the chat.

To wrap it all up

Now that you know how to add more admins to your group on WhatsApp, you can bring more people to help manage your members within the chat. In this way, you can focus more on other stuff without worrying about removing and inviting group members all the time.

That’s everything we have on us! For more tutorials, visit our page and check our latest posts and updates.

WhatsApp Group Admins Can Delete Any Message for Everyone in Latest Beta

by Tim Hardwick

WhatsApp has rolled out a new group chat feature to beta users on iOS that gives group admins the ability to delete messages from other participants, reports WABetaInfo.

WhatsApp has been busy building out its group chat features in recent updates, and this latest feature aims to help group admins better moderate conversations, which can involve up to 256 people on the platfrom.

For beta testers who have received "group admin delete" privileges, they will be able to delete any recent message from a chat group in which they are an admin, courtesy of a new "delete for everyone" option in the delete menu popover.

When a message is deleted for everyone in the group, group members are notified in the thread that a particular group admin removed the message.

Also new in the latest beta is an optional ability to view Status updates within the chat list. Similar to WhatsApp Stories, Status updates let WhatsApp users post photos and videos within the app that disappear after 24 hours.

As usual, WhatsApp hasn't offered any details on when these new features will roll out to the public while it develops them under the aegis of its beta testers.

In the last major update, WhatsApp users received the ability to adjust the visibility of their "Last Seen" status on a contact-by-contact basis, and a way to silently leave group chats without all members of the group being notified when you do. WhatsApp is also developing an updated Mac app that features native Apple silicon support.

how to create and add a contact

We tell you how to create WhatsApp groups, what they are for and how to manage them.

Many people know about the presence of this feature, but not everyone knows about all the features of WhatsApp groups. And this applies to both basic functions and more rarely used features.

How do WhatsApp groups work?

They work in the same way as in other instant messengers. A common space is created in which several people can communicate at once at the invitation of the user who created this group. And exchange messages without explicit restrictions. You can share files, you can send links, voice messages, even calls, etc.

The only limit users of WhatsApp groups will have to face is the limit on the number of members. In total, no more than 256 people can communicate in a group at the same time.

What are WhatsApp groups for?

In general, there are several ways to put WhatsApp groups into practice. Often they are used when you need to simultaneously receive information from several sources at once. This applies to all kinds of family chats, as well as WhatsApp groups where colleagues gather.

Sometimes groups are used to convey certain information to a large number of people at once.

It's just a more convenient and faster way to interact with people on a variety of issues. A great alternative to e-mail, which is not at all up to the standards of modern interaction between users online.

A group to communicate with friends and family

The simplest way to use WhatsApp groups, and perhaps the most common. Discussion of family issues has long outgrown from interaction on the phone to interaction in chat rooms.

Communication of this kind helps to avoid confusion, allows you to "remember" everything said, and quickly convey information to the whole family at once. In general, the advantages of WhatsApp groups in comparison with the classic means of communication are quite a lot.

WhatsApp groups of friends can be classified in the same category. So for a discussion in the spirit of “how many kilograms of barbecue to take to nature”, WhatsApp is ideal.

Work group

The second common use case for groups is work teams. Here additional comments are unnecessary. People give directions, report problems at work, and so on. And more importantly, a group work chat allows you to share work documents and store all of them right in the chat. Thanks to the user-friendly interface of WhatsApp, you can easily find all the files stored in the chat.

Important Customers Group

Usually email is used to communicate with customers. But this is an outdated method of communication, and it also greatly slows down transactions. To make communication more efficient, you can immediately invite people to chat via messenger instead of email.

For this, WhatsApp even has a special feature that allows you to send a link to a WhatsApp chat directly by mail. And groups in this case help to make collective decisions or gather several clients in one chat at once, who are ready to use your services.

Group to promote products and services

Some companies use WhatsApp groups to promote their brand. People who are interested in the service are invited there and on a regular basis they publish chat records that could attract an audience.

In such groups, the right to send messages is often taken away from everyone except administrators. It turns out a kind of one-way communication channel, where hundreds of users silently watch the information from the admins. Channels in other messengers (for example, in Telegram) work in a similar way.

Good to know: How to transfer WhatsApp from one device to another.

How to manage WhatsApp groups

Creating and managing WhatsApp groups is easy. Just a couple of clicks and you already communicate not one-on-one, but the whole team. And there are several effective ways to create groups at once. For example, using QR codes so that others around them can join the chat at will. However, more about everything.

How to create your own group and edit its name

Creating your WhatsApp group is a fairly simple process. To do this, you need:

  • Open the WhatsApp client on your phone.
  • We allow access to the address book of our device (otherwise it will not be possible to create groups).
  • Click on the "New Group" button.

  • Select the contacts that you want to add to the group and check the boxes next to them (simply by touching the names of the desired users).

  • Then click on the "Next" button.

  • Choose a name for our group.
  • And then click on the "Create" button and that's it.

The group is ready. If you want to use it for marketing purposes, you can make a unique logo for it and change the name to anything related to your business in one way or another. To do this:

  • Open the chat of our group.
  • Click on its name in the upper part of the window.
  • Then click on the camera icon to add a logo.
  • Then click on the name of the group to replace it with a new one.

How to change the security settings of a WhatsApp group

One of the side effects of using groups can be too many invitations from strangers that you don't really need. There are security options in WhatsApp for this. Also, these parameters are needed in order to add users to the group who have prohibited third parties from adding themselves to groups for communication in WhatsApp.

To change security settings:

  • Open settings.
  • Go to the "Account" section.

  • Then open the "Privacy" tab.

  • Then go to the "Groups" menu.

Here you can select the user category that can add you to the group chat.

How to join an existing WhatsApp group

It is simply not possible to join a group on your own. This can only happen with the permission of the group administrator. Accordingly, he will either invite you to the group on his own, or must create a link that anyone can follow to become part of the WhatsApp group.

Links can usually be found on special sites whose administrators offer group communication. Sometimes QR codes are used instead (in the event that the link to the chat needs to be placed on some physical object, for example, on a store counter or business card). We will talk about how to create links and QR codes for WhatsApp chat invitations below.

How to manage WhatsApp groups

When working with WhatsApp groups, you should be aware of a number of mechanisms that make it easier to interact with a chat and individual participants in a conversation.

Organization functions

If you have to communicate in a group with a large number of members or with overly active people who write too many messages in a short period of time, then you need to become more familiar with the group management functions.

All group parameters are hidden behind its name. Click on it and immediately get access to a bunch of WhatsApp group settings.

In order not to get confused in hundreds of messages, you should start adding messages to favorites, as well as searching through messages and documents. And if notifications annoy you, then you can temporarily turn on the "Silent" mode in the same menu.

Group calls

One of the most requested features of WhatsApp. Groups can be used not only for messaging, but also for calls. It turns out a good alternative to the conditional Skype, Teams or any other similar applications.

WhatsApp can have up to 8 people talking at the same time.

To start a call in a group, just click on the handset icon at the top of the chat window. After that, it will be possible to select the number of participants in the conversation among those who are already present in the group.

How do I delete a group or turn off notifications?

To turn off notifications from group members, do the following:

  • Swipe in a group chat.
  • Select "More".

  • Click on the Mute button.

  • Select the period for which notifications will be blocked.

You can select periods of 8 hours, one week, or forever.

To leave the group, you need to do the same, but instead of the "Mute" item, select the "Exit group" item.

To delete a group completely, you must first exclude all participants from it, then clear the chat, and only then leave the group yourself.

TOP 7 WhatsApp group tricks

There are a couple more features to be aware of when using WhatsApp group chats.

Checking the read status of messages

To find out who from the group has read the messages and who has not yet had time, you need to click on the name of the group in the chat and scroll down the window that opens until the list of participants is displayed. And now, to the right of the participant, a standard set of checkmarks will be displayed, indicating whether the message was delivered and, if delivered, whether it was read.

Using tags to refer to users

If you are in a large group and need to address a specific member, you can use the @ tag. A similar one is used in social networks in the spirit of Twitter and Instagram. Just type @ followed by the name of the person you want to write to.

Even if he has notifications turned off, he will receive your message, and an icon will glow in the chat indicating that someone in the group has addressed specifically to him.

Search for messages in a group

Messages in a group can be searched at any time. To do this, you just need to open the group chat menu, and then click on the "Search in chat" button.

After that, the program will return you to the previous screen (directly with messages). A search box will appear at the top, where you can enter a word and the messenger will show all mentions of this word.

Show links and files in a group

To show all the media you have shared in a chat, you need to open the group chat management menu. That is, click on its name while being directly in the chat.

And then select Media, Links and Documents. You will see a list of files. They are divided into three different categories for easier filtering. The same files can be searched using the built-in search engine.

Group description block

To make it clear what a particular group is about, you can enter your own description. This will make it easier to navigate in groups and understand why you are in it at all.

Also in the description, you can leave important materials, notes, or links to content that members of the group may need. Applications are only limited by your imagination. To add a description, you need to open the chat management menu, and then click on the block with the description of the group.

Invite to a group by link

To invite a person or several people to a group by link:

  • Open the group chat control panel.
  • Scroll through the menu until you see a list of participants in it.
  • Above the list of members there will be an "Invite to Group" button. We click on it.

  • Then choose the easiest way for you to share the link. Just copy to clipboard, send via another messenger or generate a QR code.

There is also a button that resets the unique invitation link so that it is no longer active.

Grant admin rights to other members of the group

If you don't want to administer the group alone, you can open the group settings, scroll through the menu to the list of members, then click on the name of one of the people in the chat and select "Set as group admin". After that, in the same way, you can take away administrator rights from the user (in any case, you remain the main one).

Instead of a conclusion

That's it. We have analyzed literally all aspects of working with WhatsApp groups. If you have any questions, then feel free to ask them in the comments. And also share other life hacks.

How to create a WhatsApp group

March 28 Likbez Technology

A couple of minutes and you will have a comfortable place to communicate with friends, family or colleagues.

What is important to know

Group chats are convenient for joint conversations when you need to quickly inform several people at once of any information or discuss it together. The number of users in WhatsApp groups is limited to 256 people. While in such a chat, you will see all the messages that any of the participants will send. In the same way, all your messages can be read by anyone present in the conversation.

You can select members directly at the stage of creating a group and later through its settings. Special links are also used to invite new members. By clicking on them, anyone can join the conversation, so be careful and send an invitation only to those you trust. Everyone who receives your link will be able to forward it to other people, and they will also join. You can revoke the link if you wish. Then it will become invalid and no one else will be able to enter it.

After creating a group, you become its administrator and can add or remove members, as well as create invitation links and cancel them. In addition, it is allowed to appoint any of the users as an administrator, and then he will receive the same rights.
