On Thursday, Instagram launched a feature that lets users add clips of songs to their stories.
Instead of playing the songs through their speakers while recording a video, users can include up to 15 seconds of a song in their video and photo posts to their stories.
There's a few genres and moods to choose from, and a search feature for anything that's not included on the front page. Instagram says there's "thousands" of songs included, but the list isn't as extensive as what can be found on apps like Apple Music and Spotify.
Here's how to jump on Instagram's latest trend and add music to your stories:
Step 1: Tap on the smiley-face icon in the top right of the screen after you take a photo for the story. This will open up the page of stickers you can add to the story.

Step 1. Open your Instagram app, tap the plus icon with a square and then click the Story from the pop-up below. Or swipe right anywhere in the feed.
Step 2. Click the Record button at the bottom of the screen to take a photo or choose a photo from your phone's gallery or camera roll.
Step 3. Tap the sticker icon at the top, then click the Music sticker from the pop-up screen to open the music library. Or just click the Music icon at the top. Then browse and select a song.

If you want to make the music longer than 15 seconds on Instagram story, you can record multiple 15-second clips at once and then add music to them.
Step 1. Open your Instagram app, tap the plus icon with a square and then click the Story from the pop-up below, and hold the Record button to record 2 or 3 15-second clips. When you’re done, release your ginger.

Instagram announced the launch of new features in Russia.
Users will have access to a TikTok-like Reels video service and a music sticker in Stories. With it, you can add music to your stories and answer questions with songs. Russian Facebook users will be able to pin it in the profile header so that it plays when the page is opened
Starting June 23, Russian Instagram users will begin accessing Reels, a short video site, the company said.
