How to Link Instagram to Facebook
If you have a Facebook profile and an Instagram account, linking the two is easy. Then, you can share content seamlessly between the two networks without losing formatting or impact. Here’s how to do it.
- Open “Instagram” on your phone.
- Log in, select your profile, and then select the “Settings” menu.
- Choose “Account” then tap on “Sharing to Other Apps.”
- Select “Facebook” and log in with your Facebook account details if you’re not logged in on your phone. Give the app permissions when requested.
- You will then get asked to setup your Accounts Center. Choose your Facebook account or tap “Not you?” to change the account, then select “Continue.”

- Go back to the Accounts Center. Under the “Manage connected experiences” section, ensure that “Story & Post Sharing’ and “Logging in with accounts” are both enabled.
If you find this isn’t working out for you, all you need to do is go back to the Accounts Center menu on Instagram. Select Facebook and select Remove from Accounts Center.
How to Log into Instagram through Facebook
Logging into Instagram with your Facebook credentials is easy:
- For new accounts, skip to Step 4. For an existing Instagram account, open “Instagram” on your phone.
- Select “Log In With Facebook.”
- If you’re already logged into Facebook, you will automatically get logged in. If you’re not, add your Facebook login when prompted and select the blue Login button.
- For new Instagram accounts, select “Log In With Facebook.” Your account gets created and then links to your Facebook account.
- Your new Instagram account now has a random, precompiled username and password. To change it, log into Instagram using the “Log In With Facebook” option.
- Select your “Profile icon” at the bottom right and tap on “Edit Profile.”
- Select your “username” and change it to something more personal.
- Head back to your “profile screen,” tap on the “hamburger icon” (Menu) in the upper-right sectoin, then select “Settings.”
- Tap on “Account” then select “Personal Information.” Check the “Email Address” to ensure it is correct. Tap it to edit.
- Go back to the “settings menu” and choose “Security.”
- Select “Password” from the list to change it.
- You should see a notification that says something like ‘We sent an email to [ADDRESS] with a link to reset your password’. That email address will be the one you have in your account.
You can also edit your Instagram profile in a browser or change your Instagram password. The principle is the same, as is the result.
You can still log into Instagram through Facebook, but now, you have set up your account to be accessed independently too. You can change your profile image, add a bio, and modify your Instagram account as you like, and it will not affect that login.
How to Unlink Your Instagram Account
So, you’ve linked your Instagram account to Facebook, which means you can cross-post your content. But, what can you do when you no longer want to have the two connected?
Whether you’re deactivating your Facebook account or just want to separate the two services, it is possible to do so without losing all of your posts. All you need to do is follow the same steps as above, then follow these steps: o

- Select your “Instagram profile.”
- Tap on “Remove from Accounts Center.”
- Tap “Continue” to finish the renmoval process, separating your Instagram account from your Facebook account.
Your Facebook profile will still hold your Instagram information until you remove that, and you’ll need to delete all of your Instagram posts from Facebook.

NOTE! If you are not registered yet, you will have to create it again. A short digression into the concept of social networks. Without registration, it is impossible to enter “my page” - because it simply does not exist. Registration is the creation of a page, it is done once at the very beginning. Authorization is an entrance to the page using a username and password. Some confuse these concepts and confusion occurs. Also, without a password, you can’t get there - for obvious security reasons.

NOTE! You can enter the address manually in the browser's address bar. Just be careful that there are no facebooks or feisbooks. Or you can enter a request in Yandex or Google. I will also answer the question about the old version with the “ru-ru” subscription - it no longer exists. - If for some reason the page is not opened in Russian, then scroll to the very bottom and click on the inscription: "Russian". If there is no such inscription, click on the plus sign (+).

I enter the password correctly, but I can't log in.
There are times when a person seems to enter the correct password, but it doesn't work. First of all, make sure that the Caps Lock key on the keyboard is turned off - it makes all letters capitalized. As you already understood, large letters are not the same as small ones. That is, for example, a large letter "A" will be perceived by the site not as a small "a". This key is on the left below Tab and above the left Shift.

After entering the password, to the right you will see the "Eyes" icon - click on it. After that, you will see what exactly you entered. Perhaps you accidentally pressed a key, or there is a physical sticking, from which the keyboard itself enters unknown letters and symbols.
ATTENTION! Make sure there are no spaces to the right and left of your password - if there are, remove them.
I forgot my password - what should I do?
It doesn't matter how you launched Facebook - the recovery procedure is the same. Just click on the "Forgot your password?" link.
Here you must remember what exactly you indicated during registration and is there a phone link? You need to enter either an E-mail address or a mobile phone number.
Now look to the right - is this your account and profile with the correct name? If yes, then click on the Continue button. If you have entered a mobile phone number, then check the SMS messages - you should receive a code that you will need to enter in the field on the site.
Now go to our mail and open a new letter. If it's not there, check your Spam folder. The letter will contain a digital code.
Enter it in this field. If, nevertheless, there is no letter in the Spam folder, then most likely they have a problem or you have a problem with the mail service - this happens.
Click on the link "Did not receive the code" and resend it. It happens that the letter is delayed, just wait 10-20 minutes.
After entering the correct code, you will be asked to create a new password and enter it here. If you are afraid to forget it, then write it down somewhere.
After that, you will get inside the account and see such a window with a message. If you are afraid that an attacker has taken over your password, then select the item "Log out of your account on other devices" and click "Continue". In this case, even if the hacker was sitting behind your account, he will simply be thrown out of there.
But that's not all, then you will be asked to scan your profile, after which suspicious publications will be deleted. For example, if the attacker tried to advertise something or wrote to your friends.
If such records are found, they will be deleted. Next, you can click on the “Turn on advanced security features” button.
You will receive notifications about entering your personal account by mail or in this browser.
I don't have access to my email or phone and I can't log in to Facebook
At the password recovery step, click on the "No more access?" link.
In fact, as I understand it, Facebook does not offer anything special - like, if you lose access to mail, then most likely you will no longer get to your Facebook account. This is not very pleasant, of course. Therefore, you need to try to access the mail to which you registered the account. Once you get access, log into your Facebook page, go to settings and change your mail to another one.
Facebook doesn't even have an email or form to contact the site's technical support. Unfortunately, the policy of all major sites like Google or Facebook is this - you can’t contact them in any way. A similar situation is with the phone - if you have lost access to it, then it will be impossible to enter the page.
