How to hide your likes on Facebook

1. Log into your Facebook account and navigate to your personal page.

2. On the toolbar under your cover photo, hover over "More" and then click "Likes" from the dropdown menu.

3. Click the pencil icon, then select "Edit the Privacy of Your Likes."

4. For any category in which you wish to hide your Likes, click the arrow at the right side of the tab and select "Only me" on the dropdown menu. Now, only you can see your Likes in that particular category.

1. Open Facebook in a desktop browser, then navigate to your profile page and click 'More.'

Different types of likes on Facebook

First, you must understand that there are several types of likes to be found on Facebook. There is currently no option to hide individually liked pages.   5. Scroll down to the "Like" area and inside the banner on the far right, find the "Manage" button.
    • The Manage button has a pencil icon and is next to the + Add button.
  6. Click the "Manage" button and select "Edit the privacy of your likes" from the menu.
  7. A list of categories appears. To the right of each category is a globe with a drop-down arrow. For each category you want to make private, click the appropriate drop-down list and select Just Me.
    • The Only Me badge will be a hidden lock. You can also allow only friends to see your likes by selecting the Friends option.
    • You can also choose the specific people you want to share or hide likes from by selecting "User's Choice" from the list.
  8. Once the privacy level has been selected for the categories you selected, each of them should now have a corresponding icon visible. This lets you know that it has been installed correctly.
  9. When you're done editing who can and can't see your likes, click the Close button at the bottom.

Your likes in these categories are now privatized. As mentioned earlier, hiding likes for individual pages is currently not available in cards. However, being able to choose different restrictions for each of the nine categories is still a decent way to maintain privacy.

Hide your timeline

Another way to remove your likes from the public is to prevent entire groups of people from seeing what's on your Facebook timeline. Do this:

  1. When you're already logged into Facebook, click the drop-down arrow at the top right of the page.
  2. Select "Settings" from the menu that appears.
  3. From the left menu, select Timeline and Markup.

On this page, you will have three different options that revolve around who can see your timeline, who can tag you, and if you want to review these posts before they are published. This means that any posts you like or participate in can be hidden from view while you give the floor.

If you backed off and instead chose "Privacy" in the left menu, you can edit "Your Activity". This means that all past and future messages can be made invisible to the public, to all friends or specified, or to everyone except you.
