About 31.8 percent of Facebook's 2.23 billion active users access the social networking site from their laptop or desktop, according to Statista data from January 2018. While the vast majority of users access the site from their smartphones, roughly 709.1 million computer users are nothing to scoff at.
If you're among the millions who like to browse that endless stream of baby photos and dog videos on a bigger screen and pound out status updates on a physical keyboard, you may find yourself at some point wanting to create a secondary Facebook account on the same computer. Setting up another account entails the same process as creating your first one. Bear in mind, though, that Facebook's Community Standards don't allow individual users to maintain more than one personal account. Instead, Facebook recommends creating a Page separate from your personal profile if wish to represent your business or if your position as a public figure. But if you have multiple people sharing the same computer, you're in the clear to have two Facebook accounts. Every user just needs to have their own unique email address or mobile number.
STEP 1: Get Started
If you're sharing a computer with another Facebook user, be sure to log out of the other person's account by selecting the arrow from Facebook's top control panel and clicking Log Out on the drop-down menu. Once you're logged out, head on over to the "Create an account" page at www.facebook.com/r.php to begin setting up your secondary account.
STEP 2: Enter the Basics
On the "Create an account" page, you'll need to enter some basic identification and contact info. In the respective blank fields, type in your first name, surname, mobile number or email address and a unique password. You'll be asked to re-enter your phone number or email address, either of which must be unique from any other users, and password to verify that they're correct.
Now select the day, month and year of your birth and check the box next to the gender that you identify with, if you'd like.
When you're ready for your household to have two Facebook accounts, click the Sign Up button. Remember, this indicates that you agree with Facebook's terms of service, so you might want to give those a gander (they're linked on the "Create an Account" page).
STEP 3: Confirm Your Contact Info
To finish creating your household's secondary Facebook account, you'll need to verify the mobile phone number or email address you entered to set up your new account. If you signed up with a mobile number, enter the confirmation code you received via text message in the "Confirm" box that appears after clicking Sign Up. If you used an email address, follow the link you received from Facebook in your inbox.
STEP 4: Add the Details
Once your account is confirmed, you'll have access to all of Facebook's features.
Though you're free to use the platform with just the info you entered, your first log-in takes you to a welcome page that makes it easy to flesh out your new profile and find friends. Click Add Picture or the "Take a photo" button to upload a profile picture from your computer's hard drive or take a fresh photo with your webcam. Enter the names of friends or family members in the "Find people you know" field to start adding friends and growing your social network.
To make further changes to your profile, visit your profile page by clicking on your name at the top toolbar and click Edit Profile. From here, you can change your profile and cover photos, create a biography, choose featured photos, customize your intro and add details related to your work, education, location, relationship status and more.

A more pragmatic reason is operating two Facebook accounts would clearly be a pain to maintain.
It could prove a logistical nightmare to know where to a draw a distinction between the two accounts.
So instead of having to partition both sides of your life, it is recommended to instead take advantage of Facebook's robust privacy settings.
How to create a Facebook business page:Although you technically cannot create two separate Facebook accounts from one email address, you can use Facebook as two or more separate entities from the same Facebook account.
Facebook allows you to create Pages for business, which can be managed from your personal profile account.
There are two ways to create a page on Facebook and both require users to log into their Facebook account.
Option 1: From your personal profile page, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the Advertising link.
You will be taken to a new page where you can then either click on the Facebook Page link in the text in the centre column or the Create a Page link.

Option 2: Begin by visiting the Facebook Page creation home page.
Next, select the type of page you want to create, from options including Local Business, Company and Charity.
You will then be presented with a drop-down menu of more options to help Facebook understand more about the type of page.
The Facebook page will then automatically be created for you, and you will be redirected to it.
How to log into your Facebook business page:Once your a Facebook business page is ready, it is to access.
Simply log into your main Facebook account and in the drop down menu on the top right side of your account select My Account and then select Use Facebook as Page.
If you have more than one page you will be shown the options to select from, just click on the particular page you want to access.
Although you can have only one Facebook account and personal page, you can have multiple business or other pages.

We all have or will have multiple profiles in social networks. The answer to the question "why" is individual. Someone separates personal and work information, someone needs it for other purposes - perhaps you are Batman and lead a double life.
It's not always convenient to use two profiles. Sometimes this requires downloading additional unofficial applications, and sometimes it's just inconvenient to log out of the main account every time to go to the second one.
The solution is much simpler than it seems at first glance.
Duplicate applications for Android
Android has provided the function of duplicate applications on most smartphones. It creates a similar application with zero settings. The name of the function on different smartphones may be called differently.
The function is located in one of the sections: “Accessibility”, “Additional functions”, “Applications”. It may be called “Dual Application Profile” or “Software Clones”, depending on the smartphone brand. Select an app to clone and wait for the download.
The application clone will appear on the smartphone screen. The icon will look like the original with a small addition - a clone icon in the corner. So you can easily distinguish the clone from the original application.
Second space for Xiaomi
Xiaomi owners will need a function - “Second space”. It allows you to create a parallel version of the operating system on your phone.
The second space works identically to the first. Initially, it is completely empty and you can reinstall the necessary applications and log in to them. With one click, you can move between the two spaces and even set a password.
Installing the second space is easy enough. Go to "Settings", then to "Accessibility" and "Second Space". Start the installation and wait for the space to form.
The Go icon will appear on the screen. Use it to change the space.
iOS didn't provide app clone or second space creation, so workarounds have to be found. There is no free third-party clone app, but some apps have taken care of managing multiple accounts on their own. You can use the same functions for Android.
Second Instagram account
The application allows you to use several instagram accounts at the same time and switch between them without having to constantly log in and out and enter passwords. You just need to go to the main page, click on the login above and add an account.
After that, you can easily switch accounts on instagram at any time.
Second Telegram account
The application allows you to have more than one Telegram account. Thanks to this, it becomes easier to separate work and personal life in the messenger. Go to settings, click on your profile and on the line "Add account". You will receive a code in Telegram to the number through which you authorize. The code can also be sent via SMS. After that, you can easily switch telegram accounts in the side menu. Also in the telegram, you can turn off notifications on individual chats, which makes it possible not to be distracted by unnecessary messages or notifications from telegram channels. Long press on an account when navigating to open a window with recent chats. So you can “peep” whether something important has arrived or not. Account management is carried out in the settings in the “devices” section. Here you can view active sessions and end your account on other devices.
Facebook accounts
Facebook added the ability to switch between accounts. To do this, log out of the main account and log in to the second one. The login data for both accounts will be saved and you can switch between them by clicking the “Logout” button.
Several accounts in Viber
The official messenger did not provide for the use of more than one account. On android, the problem is solved quite simply using the functions of cloning applications or the second space, which we described above. iPhone owners will not be able to install a second Viber without the help of a MacBook or paid apps in the App Store.

It is possible to use an anonymous account or work with business functions if you create a second Facebook page. The user does not have to provide real data, so such a profile can be used as a backup or for promotion.

How to make a second page on Facebook on Facebook is available on mobile and desktop versions. The user needs to log out of the main account in order to proceed to the section: "Create an account".
As in the first case, you need to enter registration data: phone number, password, fill in the basic information from the biography. Features of working with two pages:
- you need to use a different number and email address;
- it is recommended to immediately install a photo (you can not your own) so that the system does not send a warning or block the account;
- login without connected VPN or anonymous access services;
- It is forbidden to impersonate another person: a celebrity or a regular user.
In the social network, you can switch between pages. It is allowed to use the same photo and full name to confirm the identity.
With the computer version
Two Facebook accounts are convenient with the computer version. The user needs to log out of their account to switch. But the creation of an additional account is not prohibited by the social network.
How to:
- Log in to Facebook - log out of your account.
- Click: "Create an account" - fill in the registration data.
- Go to confirmation of information - enter the verification code.
- Send - go to the account.
Next, the user needs to fill in categories such as education received, place of residence, upload the first publication or photo. This is optional, but this way the system will not suspect automatic actions.
Data between pages is not synchronized. This means that you will not be able to read messages from the first account or see actions in the financial section.
Create a second account on a smartphone
You can log in to another Facebook account from the mobile version in the same way as from the computer version: log out and proceed to registration. Through the application, opening Facebook that is not connected, thumbnails with avatars and saved login data will appear on the screen. The user can choose which profile to enter.
How to make another page:
- Enter the application - click: "Settings".
- Exit - opens the main.
- Select: "Create an account" - specify the phone number to connect.
- Specify data: "First and last name", "Date of birth", "Gender".
- Confirm registration - enter code from SMS.
- Log in to your profile.
Along with the main one, the information about the second account will be saved on the main one. The profile owner will be able to switch by opening Facebook without prior authorization and entering a number, password.
How to switch to the second Facebook profile
By connecting several Facebook accounts, the user will be able to switch only if he logs out of the first one. In the settings there is a transition to a business profile only, where the owner does not need to enter additional data.
How to go to another page using the computer version:
- Open your profile - go to the section: "Settings".
- In the drop-down menu: "Exit" - confirm the action.
The screen will display the previously authorized account and an empty field where you can add another account to switch.
From the mobile version, you also need to go to the settings and click: "Exit". A notification will appear on the screen: "Are you sure", after - the main page. The owner cannot switch to different accounts while he is authorized in at least one. Unlike Instagram, where all connected profiles are shown in the top menu, Facebook can only be accessed by disconnecting from the first one.
Problem restoring another page in FB
Problems returning access can occur if the owner used the same phone number or email address. To create several pages, you need different information: a separate number, email. Otherwise, when restoring, the system will offer the wrong page or block the second one.
What to do if the same number is given:
- restore one of the available ones and change the phone number in it;
- change completely registration data: number, password;
- delete one of the accounts.
