How to Send a Photo on Facebook | Small Business
By Carolyn Luck
Facebook members use the social network to connect with friends through status updates, comments and shared photos. Members are staying connected throughout the day using computers, mobile phones and tablets. To accommodate a variety of user preferences and technologies, Facebook has created several options for photo sending. Whether you prefer to upload, email or text your photos, you can share them within the Facebook site, or externally, in just a few clicks.
Send Photos Via Upload
-
Log in to your Facebook account using your email address and password.
-
Select the “Add Photo/Video” link that appears near the top of any page. To send one photo, click the “Upload Photo/Video” option to select a photo from your computer or mobile device and click the “Browse” button to locate and choose your photo. To send multiple photos from your computer, click the “Create An Album” option and follow prompts to select multiple photos.
-
After photo selection, use the drop down menu in the lower-right corner of the dialogue box to set photo privacy to “Public,” “Friends,” “Only Me” or “Custom,” or select a friend list if you’ve set up that feature. Click “Post” to send the photo(s).
Send Photos Via Facebook Mobile Web Email
-
Go to m.facebook.com and log in to your Facebook account.
-
Click the “Photo” option that appears under the status update field at the top of any page. Find your unique “Post-By-Email” address, which appears below the “Post It By Email” heading.
-
Open your email application and follow prompts to compose a new email. Enter your unique “Post-By-Email” address in the recipient field and include a photo caption in the subject line, if desired. Send the email.
Send Photos Via Text
-
Activate your mobile device if you haven’t already done so. Log in to your Facebook account and click the “Account Settings” option that appears in the drop down menu under the triangular symbol at the top of any page. Click the “Mobile” link in the left column and follow prompts to add a phone, which include composing a text message and receiving a confirmation code.
-
Access the text message function from your mobile device. Compose a message containing the desired photo and enter “32665” in the recipient field.
-
Include a photo caption in the subject line, if desired, and send the photo.

Tips
- Your unique email address can also be used to update your status. Compose a message to “32665” containing only your status in the subject line and send. Share an entire album on external sites using the customized URL that appears at the bottom of the album’s main page. When you “Tag” someone in a photo or photo comment, it is likely to be sent to that person via News Feed, notification, email or text message, depending on established privacy settings.
Warnings
- Note that photos uploaded via email have a default public privacy setting, which can be adjusted after receipt.

How Do I Put Pictures From My Email To Facebook?

It is relatively simple to upload photos to your Facebook page from your email. The first thing you need to do is to log in to your email account and select the photos you want to put onto Facebook. Save the photos from your email account onto your computer so you have them stored. Then you should open up your web browser and log in to Facebook and head to your profile page.
If you want to upload photos to a new photo album then what you need to do is click on 'create a photo album'. It will then ask you to type a name for the photo album and you can also enter the location and description as well as whom you want to view these photos. Then you can upload the photos that you want to add.
To do this you click on 'upload a photo' from the drop down menu and then you just follow the steps and locate the right photos from your computer files and then click 'choose' or 'upload'. You can also add a single photo to display as your profile picture by following the same process. Moreover, if you want to add a photo to an album that already exists, then all you have to do is click on the album in question at the bottom of the page.
Once you have uploaded your photos you can edit them by choosing which photo features as the front of the album as well as write captions next to the photos you wish. You can also move the order of the photo album by dragging and dropping them with your mouse to whichever order you want.

- Sign onto your Facebook account.and look at the top menu items.
- at the top, choose SETTINGS
- from there choose the MOBILE tab (even if you don't have a mobile phone, I believe this will work.)
- look in the upper right hand corner for 'Go to Facebook Mobile>>' and click on it.
- Look to the first heading on the left which says, Upload Photos via Email
- under that heading, click on "Send my upload email to me now"
- a window will pop up that says "send me my personal upload email" and you will be provided a text box containing the external email address that facebook has on file for you -- this is where they will send you your personal upload email address.
- click on SEND EMAIL
- facebook will confirm that they sent an email to you
- NOW, open up another browser window or tab and check your email for the one facebook sent to the address you indicated
- inside the email from facebook will be an email address just for you to use to send pics and vids straight to your profile.
- if you have some pics in an email that you want to forward on to your profile, after you click FORWARD, you will put this new weird little email address in the TO section.
- delete whatever is in the SUBJECT section and call the pictures whatever you want.
- I would also suggest you delete any other forwarding headers that are in the email.
- leave it to where the email contains only the pics you want to post to your profile, and any descriptive text. (facebook will publish whatever text is there, so just an fyi)
- when you're done, click send.
- give it a few minutes to post on your wall.
IF facebook requires you to set up a mobile account before you can do this, then let me know via email and I'll help you out.

If there is a way to do this directly, I don't know about it, but I don't think there is. You can post a link to a picture you've found online, but Facebook wants to make sure the pictures you put in albums are really yours, not something that you took from someone else. So if you want to post a picture somebody sent you in an email, the best way to do it is to save the emailed picture in a file on your computer. Then go on Facebook to upload the the picture from your files (either by creating an album or simply uploading it to your wall).

Copy and then paste the picture and after that go to new profile picture and paste it but if you can't do that all you do is save it inst ed of coping and pasting.

How to use Facebook from your email
Facebook's post-email feature, released in 2010 and described below, has been discontinued. This article has been kept for archival purposes.
You can use Facebook with desktop website , mobile site and mobile app .
How did posting to Facebook from email work?
You can use your email account to post updates to Facebook and upload photos and videos to your Facebook account. Using Facebook via email was an alternative if you didn't have access to the app or website.
One of the circumstances in which you may have changed your Facebook status via email or sent photos from email to Facebook is when you were offline, such as away from Wi-Fi or out of service area. Anything you email to Facebook will be posted online when you get a strong enough signal.
Perhaps you just wanted to avoid logging into Facebook to update your status or share a photo you just took. All you had to do was send an email to your personal account @ facebook.com .
Note that the following steps no longer work.
Updating your Facebook status via email
When this feature was supported, you could update your Facebook status from an email with your subject status.
- Start a new email to your secret Facebook status email address.
- Enter the desired status update in the subject line of the email.
- You can leave the message body empty or not; it doesn't really matter because Facebook will ignore anything in the message body.
- If you leave the "Subject" line blank (and don't attach a photo or video; see below), your update will be completely ignored.
- Default privacy settings will be applied to updates sent via email.
- Send an email.
Post images to Facebook via email
Uploading videos and photos to Facebook from your email account was as easy as updating your status, but instead of describing a status update, you would attach files to an email just like any other the attachment.
- Create a new email to your secret email address to upload to Facebook.
- Optionally, enter a title for your photos or videos in the Subject line.
- You can leave the subject line blank if you like, and images and videos will still be published.
- Attach any images or videos you want to upload to Facebook.
- The title from the "Subject" line will be used for each uploaded image or video.
- Files other than images or videos will be ignored by Facebook.
- All photos and videos you upload via email use Facebook's default privacy settings.
- Send an email.
How to send or forward Facebook messages to email
Can you forward messages to your work email address and follow them outside of Facebook? Can you backup Facebook messages?
Backup Facebook messages
Although you can no longer forward chats and messages to your work email address from Facebook, you can download copies of all your chats. It's very simple and only takes a couple of minutes. I find it easier to do this from a desktop computer than from a phone, but the process is much the same.
- Log in to Facebook and select the menu icon with the down arrow at the top.
- Select "Settings" and then on the left side select your Facebook information.
- Select Upload your information in the central panel.
- Check or uncheck the options depending on your needs.
- Select "Create File" at the top.
The download may take some time and will be downloaded in HTML or JSON format. For your posts, you can uncheck all boxes except posts on this page. It will then download all of your messages for safekeeping. If you need something specific, you can select a date range at the top of the download screen instead of downloading everything.

After downloading, open index.html or index.json from the file and scroll to "Messages". Select a text link and you'll see copies of all messages in the date range you choose. You can save it in its original format or, if necessary, copy and paste it into another program.
Manual backup of Facebook messages
Of course, you can manually back up your Facebook posts. Just open a conversation, scroll up to load everything up to the point where you need to start to save it, and Control A and Control C (Windows) or Cmd A and Cmd C (Mac).
