A week after the head of Instagram announced that the app is testing three new feeds for its users, the social network could receive another important feature with the ability to edit the profile grid so users could create their ultimate personal aesthetic feed.

According to leaker and reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is working on the ability to edit the profile grid allowing users to rearrange posts in any order they like. So, instead of deleting a photo that no longer works with your feed’s aesthetic, you could just rearrange it rather than deleting or archiving the post.

This new feature could be especially helpful for brands, business accounts, and personal bloggers. As shown by Paluzzi, this feature would be available in a section called “Profile information. ” When you select “Edit Grid,” Instagram would show you your feed with the information “Drag and drop to reorder.”

With that, just select where you want to insert each photo or video for a clearer view of your profile feed.

It’s important to notice that this feature is completely different than the one Instagram announced last week, with the ability to rearrange your home feed in three different options.

According to the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, the company will launch three different views on the user’s home screen, with two of them giving you the option to see posts in chronological order:

  • Home: Home is the experience users know today, according to Mosseri. The app ranks content based on how interested it thinks you are.
  • Favorites: It’s a list of accounts that you want to make sure you don’t miss things from. Mosseri says he uses this feed to see what his siblings are doing, his favorite creators, and a few of his best friends.
  • Following: Just like the old Instagram, you’ll see posts from all your followers in chronological order.

Although the new feed option is set to launch in the first half of 2022, it’s unclear whether Instagram will ever release the ability to edit your own grid. Are you excited to try these features? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

How To Change Your Instagram Feed & See What You Want

Social Media

Beat the algorithm.

If you’ve ever wondered how Instagram decides what to show you on your Explore page or what factors influence how certain posts show up in your Stories or Feed, the tech giant has some answers. Instagram users have been sharing their own theories about what influences the app’s algorithm — but in a June 8 blog post, Instagram head Adam Mosseri shed some light on exactly how Instagram decides what you see. Here’s what to keep in mind if you want to change your Instagram Feed or Explore page.

One of the biggest revelations from Mosseri’s blog post is that there’s no one algorithm that influences the content that shows up on your Instagram or the order in which posts appear. While this might be disappointing for users who want to crack the Instagram code, Mosseri explains you still have a lot of control over what you see. The app picks what you see and don’t see based on how you use Instagram and the kinds of content and profiles you interact with.

Instagram ranks Feed and Stories posts separately from Reels and Explore content, but in general, it takes into account how popular a post is, your past activity, how much you interact with certain accounts, and user information determine how likely you are to interact with any content. However, Instagram also revealed it tinkers with its algorithm to avoid showing too many posts from one account in a row, and the app also steps in when it comes to accounts that share misinformation or regularly violate the app’s community guidelines.

If you want to have more control over what you see, you have to be more intentional about what content and accounts you choose to interact with on the app. More specifically, Instagram recommends you pick a list of Close Friends for your Stories, as this will help bring up these users’ content earlier in both your Instagram Feed and Stories. Similarly, if you don’t want to see someone’s content (but don’t want to unfollow them), you can mute their Story or posts — or both without them knowing.

Instagram

To do so, go to their Instagram account, and tap “Following,” which is on the left side of the screen with a little down arrow icon, and then tap “Mute.” From there, you can choose exactly what content you don’t want to see.

When it comes to your Explore page, you can also show you don’t like a recommendation and want to avoid similar content in the future by tapping the three dots at the top right corner of the post and select “Not Interested.

Instagram will let you edit the post order

The most interesting in the reviews

In recent years, Instagram*, although somewhat inferior to giants like TikTok, is still one of the most popular social networks in the world. Meta* is not stingy with new features - the company recently announced Take a Break for those who stay too long on their smartphones, and soon it looks like it will be possible to edit the feed of posts.

Many users may have regretted not being able to arrange their previous posts in a different order - sometimes this would have created a completely different feed, affecting the impression of the profile produced by third-party visitors and loyal friends.

Instagram* is preparing something new, according to well-known network whistleblower and developer Alessandro Paluzzi, who likes to dig through application code to find undocumented features. Judging by the screenshots posted on Twitter, the social network will add a feature that allows you to edit the "grid" of the profile, lining up posts in exactly the order you want. Currently, there is no way to change the chronological order of publications.

Based on the images, the Edit Grid feature will appear in the Edit Profile section. The user will be able to drag and drop posts in any order. The option cannot be seen yet as it is still under development.

The release date of the new version will be announced later. For now, Instagram* prefers to remain silent about the new feature. It is very likely that a limited number of beta testers will be the first to be able to use it.

* Included in the list of public associations and religious organizations in respect of which a court has made a final decision to liquidate or ban activities on the grounds provided for by Federal Law No. 114-FZ of July 25, 2002 “On countering extremist activity”.

Instagram has started testing feed customization - you can switch to recent posts and content from your favorites

Instagram has started testing feed customization. This was announced by the head of Instagram Adam Mosseri and shared how the feed will look now.

Reduce the budget of targeted and contextual advertising with click.ru

Click.ru will return up to 15% of advertising costs.

  • Transfer your advertising accounts to click.ru.
  • The more you spend on advertising, the more percentage of the expenses we will return.
  • This is real money. And click.ru will pay them to the card, to electronic wallets, or you can reinvest them in advertising.

Cut the budget >> Advertising

Recall that these changes became known before the New Year, when Instagram confirmed in its Twitter account that there would be a feed with selected subscriptions, and also announced a return to the chronological feed.

We want people to have meaningful control over their experience. We’ve been experimenting with Favorites, a way for you to decide whose posts you want to see higher up, and we’re working on another option to see posts from people you follow in chronological order.

— Instagram Comms (@InstagramComms) December 8, 2021

The video shows that now users will be able to choose which feed to watch: the main feed with recommendations, "Favorites" - content from users whom you have added to favorites, "Subscriptions" - content from all users you follow by publication date.

In addition, Mosseri notes that more and more publications will appear in the main feed.

The only downside is that you can't select the default feed and the application will always open from the main feed. And to see the posts in chronological order, you will need to switch the feed.

It doesn't seem too difficult to press the tape selector.
