Fortunately, for the majority of devices, deleting an app on the home screen won’t delete the app itself. However, it depends on your device, the version of the Android OS you’re running, and which type of app you would like to retrieve.

As long as you didn’t accidentally delete the app itself, restoring any deleted Android app icons on your home screen won’t be a problem. To help you, I’ve compiled tips that have worked for me. No matter what Android OS you have and or what type of icon you need to get, this should help.

1. Check Your App Drawer

The “App drawer” is usually the best place to start if you’re missing essential icons on your device. If you’re not sure, the app drawer is the icon in the middle of your bottom dock, that opens a menu containing most of the apps found on your device. Here’s how to add app icon from app drawer.

Step 1: Tap the “App drawer” icon on your device. (You can also swipe up or down on most devices.) Doing this should bring up a list of all the apps on your phone, and you can scroll across pages to view more.

Step 3: Hold down the icon, and it will open your Home screen.

7. Check if You’ve Deleted the App Drawer Icon

If you’ve accidentally removed the app drawer icon on your Android, there’s no need to stress. It should be easy to recover the app drawer icon, but the steps may differ slightly depending on your device.

Here are a couple of ways to get the app drawer back:

Step 1: Head to the static bottom panel on your device, known as the “Lower Dock”. (This is the one that stays the same no matter which home screen page you’re on.)

Step 2:You will have to move one of the apps on this panel to make space for the app drawer if there isn’t one. You can delete one of these features by holding it down, and confirm delete, or move it to an unused hole on your “Home screen“.

If an app has disappeared from your Home Screen, you should first check your App Library and then look for any hidden Home Screens. If those solutions don't work, check the app's installation status through Siri Search or the App Store. Whatever the reason you can’t find an app on your iPhone, we'll show you how to get apps back on the Home Screen of your iPhone.

Fix #1: How to Get Apps Back on Home Screen Using App Library

If an app disappeared from the Home Screen on your iPhone, the first place you should look is the App Library. Every app on your iPhone can be found in the App Library, even if you’ve removed them from your Home Screen. Here’s how to put apps back on the Home Screen of an iPhone using the App Library:

  1. First, find your App Library by swiping left until you've gone one screen past your last Home Screen page. Your App Library is made up of groupings or folders of apps that auto-sort.

  2. If you don't immediately notice your app in the App Library, the fastest way to find it is to search for it. If you do see it, skip to step 4. Tap the bar that says App Library with a magnifying glass to search.

  3. Type the name of the app.

  4. You should see the app icon appear in the results list. Press and hold the app icon until a menu appears and tap on Add to Home Screen.

  5. If you don't see the option to Add to Home Screen, it likely means the app is buried in a Home Screen folder or on a hidden Home page. In this case, you can press and drag the app icon back onto your Home Screen. 

If you searched but can’t find the app in the App Library, it means the app isn’t on your iPhone and you’ll need to redownload it from the App Store.

Fix #2: Reveal Hidden Home Screens (If ALL Apps Disappeared from a Home Screen)

If several apps disappeared from your iPhone but are still installed, it might not be the apps that are disappearing, but the Home Screen itself! Apple has made it possible to hide multiple apps at once by hiding entire Home Screen pages. Similar to a butt dial, this can happen accidentally. If all your apps have disappeared from your Home Screen, this is the likely culprit. Here's how to get apps back on your iPhone Home Screen by checking to see if you have hidden Home Screen pages:

  1. Long press the background of your Home Screen until the icons jiggle.

  2. Tap the dots at the bottom of the screen.

  3. You will see all of your Home Screen pages. If a Home Screen doesn’t have a checkmark, that means it is hidden.

  4. Tap the empty circle to make the Home Screen page visible.

  5. Tap Done to return to your regular Home Screen view. 

Now when you swipe between your Home Screen pages, you should see the missing Home Screen that was previously hidden.

Fix #3: How to Restore App to Home Screen by Checking Installation Status

There are two ways to check whether an app is installed on your iPhone: by searching for the app name via Siri Search or searching for the app on the App Store. I recommend using the Siri Search method below, since you cannot add an existing app back to your Home Screen from the App Store if it is still installed. 

How to Find an App Not Showing on iPhone with Siri Search

If you’ve checked the App Library and any hidden Home screen pages and you still can’t find the app on your iPhone, it may be hidden in an app folder. Here’s how to find missing app icons on the iPhone and find the name of the folder where the app is.

  1. If you have iOS 16, tap Search above your dock. If you have an earlier software version, you won't see the Search icon. In this case, swipe down from the center of the Home Screen to activate Search. 

  2. Type the name of the missing app in the search field; try to match it exactly if possible. 

  3. If the app icon appears with a download icon, the app isn't on your iPhone. But if you tap it, the app will start downloading.

  4. If the app is on your Home Screen but hidden in a folder, you'll see the folder name listed on the right. You can return to your Home Screen and open the folder to find the app.

  5. If the app is on your device but not hidden in a folder, the app icon will appear at the top of your screen. If you want to put the app back on your Home Screen, press and drag the app to the right to place it back on your Home Screen.

Download Deleted Apps from App Store to Add Them to Home Screen

If you've tried the methods above and your iPhone app is still not showing, there's a good chance your app has been accidentally deleted. In this case, we'll use the App Store to check whether the app is installed and redownload it on your iPhone. Here’s how to find hidden apps on your iPhone using the App Store and how to get those apps back on your iPhone once you’ve located them.

  1. Open the App Store app and tap Search on the bottom menu.

  2. Next, type the name of your missing app into the search bar.

  3. Now, tap Search and your app will appear! 

  4. If there is a download icon next to the app, tap it to download the app again. Once it has downloaded, it will appear on your Home Screen.

  5. If Open appears, the app is still on your iPhone. You can tap the app to access it immediately, however, you cannot move an existing app to your Home Screen from the App Store. To do this, return to the App Library section above.

The application itself must be installed first.

For Android:

  2. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.facebook.lite&hl=ru&gl=US – Lite version, takes up less space.

For Apple:

Follow the link and click "Install", once the download is finished, click "Open". When you first log in, the application will ask you to enter your mail (or phone) and password. In the future, it will remember you and will not require you to log in.

As a rule, the program itself automatically creates an icon on the desktop of the phone. But on different phones everything is different.

If the icon is not missing?

If the icon does not appear on the home screen:

  1. Open the smartphone's internal menu (Home button or swipe up on the screen).
  2. Find the facebook icon among all installed applications. Hold your finger on the icon and move a little (don't let go).
  3. The desktop will open, select a location and release your finger. The icon will be in this place.

For those who use the browser

To enter Facebook through a browser, you need to open the mobile version of the site

m.facebook.com (or enter facebook in the search engine, the link to go will be the first in the results).

  1. Log in to the site, enter your email or phone number (depending on what you specified during registration).
