There finally is one. With this one WhatsApp trick, you can finally say goodbye to all your regrets and moments of embarrassment.
Follow these steps to delete your WhatsApp messages for everyone
Step 1: First thing you have to do is to put your phone on Airplane mode. This is absolutely necessary.
Step 2: Go to Settings > Date and Time. For android users, this will be either under additional settings or general settings. For iOS users, this will be under general settings.
Step 3: Set the time so that it is before the message was sent. For example, if your message was sent today at 10 AM, set the date and time to yesterday, 8 PM.
Step 4: Now, without turning off the Airplane mode, head to WhatsApp. Open the chat or group where the message was sent and long press to select it. Then go to the delete option and you will see the ‘delete for everyone’ option.
Step 5: Delete that message. And now turn off the Airplane mode. Make sure that Airplane mode is not turned off before deleting the message because many smartphones automatically reset the date and time.
Step 6: Do not forget to reset your date and time manually if your smartphone does not do it on its own. And there you go. You have successfully deleted an old message.

New mode and deletion of any correspondence. What features will appear in WhatsApp
The creators of WhatsApp are actively developing the messenger, realizing the lack of some features compared to Telegram and Viber, two main competitors. The functions that are planned to be introduced in the application this year are in the material of Gazeta.Ru.
TikTok mode
According to the WABetaInfo portal, which specializes in app improvement news, developers are discussing a new mode in WhatsApp that is similar to TikTok or Reels (short clips with endless scrolling on Instagram).
According to unofficial information, a separate place in the application interface will be allocated for such content.
It is believed that users will be able to watch Reels directly from the application, and not content specially created for WhatsApp. Thus, such videos will be available without going to Instagram.
According to experts, the owner of the messenger, Meta (formerly Facebook), is introducing such features in order to complete the plan to unify all of its large applications.
Full logout from WhatsApp
Currently, WhatsApp messenger can only be logged out by deleting the account or application. But the developers are already working on a more convenient configuration of this function.
Updated logout of WhatsApp will replace the Delete Account button and will support multi-device mode. For example, log out on one device and continue working on another.
The option will allow users to log out of WhatsApp accounts from their devices, just like in Facebook and other social networking applications.
The feature is currently in beta testing. However, messenger fans have repeatedly criticized the platform for the extremely difficult mode of setting up the same account on different devices, so the introduction of the function is expected soon.
Unlimited deletion of any conversation
Many WhatsApp users have experienced that they sent a message and would like to delete it after some time. Messenger users have only very little time to delete a message in the chat for everyone, and not just in their own correspondence.
WhatsApp currently has a strict limit - after 68 minutes and 16 seconds after sending, the message remains in the chat forever.
The author will only be able to delete it on their own device, the other chat participant will continue to see it.
However, this restriction is planned to be lifted very soon. According to unofficial information, unlimited deletion has already been tested in beta mode and is planned to be introduced in official WhatsApp updates in the near future.
Hiding data from individual users
Currently, users can hide their last seen time on WhatsApp, but for everyone at once, not just for specific contacts or groups of users. However, developers are already working on this setting. It is expected that when you select "Show the last time of the visit", the option "All my contacts except" will appear.
By selecting the option, the user will be able to include in the personal ban those to whom he would not like to show his presence in the messenger.
It is believed that the development is carried out in connection with the company's plans to increase the number of privacy settings inside the messenger and promote it as a more secure messaging application.
Telegramization, or “Communities”
A separate new feature called “Community” is planned for groups within the application. It is a variation of its own social networks within the WhatsApp messenger.
The function will be close in meaning to how Facebook groups work. Several groups can be located within the same community, and it will also be possible to create a separate channel for administrator messages.
At the same time, community posts can also contain response chains, like those of Telegram. Pavel Durov's messenger allows you to send a series of replies to certain messages in your own channel.
Read Later
WhatsApp is coming with a Read Later feature that is rumored to be an improved version of Messenger's already existing archived chat feature.
According to testers, when a chat is moved to Read Later, WhatsApp will not send new message notifications for that chat.
In addition, the feature will include a "Vacation Mode", which will save messages in chats for a long time, so that the user can then easily retrieve and read them.
Read Later will also have an edit button that allows you to customize the message storage options. For example, users can select multiple chats at once to quickly unzip all of them.
One account on multiple devices
The ability to use WhatsApp on multiple devices without the need to constantly connect to a smartphone is highly demanded by users. This feature has already appeared in beta testing format. It is available in messenger versions for iOS, Android and computers. According to experts, the feature works quite stably on gadgets.
However, it still has flaws. Chats continue to take extremely long to load on computers.
When trying to open old conversations, it becomes clear that not all old conversations are synchronized correctly. Also, for now, the feature can be used on a maximum of four devices. However, in the official, public version, all these shortcomings will most likely be corrected.

Why the function is useful
If the message is sent to the wrong number, it will not be possible to cancel the sending. But if the user has lost the desire to share the message with the interlocutor or just needs to erase the history of correspondence in order to avoid leakage of important information, all participants can delete the sent WhatsApp message from all participants within 68 minutes. After this time, only the “Delete from me” function will remain available in the menu, that is, the messages will reach other participants and be saved in the chat history of the interlocutors.
Delete WhatsApp message from sender
Even if you managed to delete the message in the first minutes after sending, this does not mean that the message has not yet been read. The text of the messages may appear on the lock screen of the recipient's phone.
The scheme for deleting SMS in Vatsap is the same for the sender on all devices:
- Press and hold the message with your finger until the context menu appears.
- Select "Delete" or the urn icon.
After that, the interlocutor's chat will remain in the same form, and on the sender's phone it will be corrected. You can delete any number of letters in this way and at any time.
Can I delete a whatsapp message?
To begin with, let's answer this question - is it possible to cancel a sent message at all? Or delete it from yourself and from the recipient himself? If we are talking about whatsapp, then yes. And it doesn’t matter on which device you communicate – on a tablet, iPhone or Android smartphone.
True, there are a few “buts”. Firstly, you will definitely be able to delete the message only on your account. In whatsapp of another participant in the correspondence, it can be saved. Secondly, you need to know the removal procedure itself and take into account some points. Next, let's talk about it.
How to delete a message on WhatsApp from the interlocutor if less than an hour has passed
What you need to know before deleting messages from the recipient from the WhatsApp chat:
- It will not work to remove SMS only from the interlocutor - the server will delete them on your device too.
- You can officially remove "SMS" "Vatsap" both from yourself and from your interlocutor within the next hour after sending.
- The double clean function will work if you and your friend have the latest versions of the messenger installed. Therefore, if you haven't updated it for a long time, update it through the Play Market or the App Store.
- You will not receive a notification that the deletion was successful on the recipient's side. Therefore, you can make sure that the "sms" were erased only by asking the recipient about it.
- If you accidentally sent a message in the wrong chat and immediately deleted it from everyone, the other participant in the conversation may still see it before clearing it.
On Android
Let's describe the procedure first for the WhatsApp interface on Android:
- Expand the dialog in which you want to delete messages. Hold down the "sms" you want to remove.
Tap on the trash can icon that appears on the top bar.
Click on the basket to the right of the star on the panel aboveIn the additional window, click on the third item to delete the "sms" from all participants in the dialogue. A cleaning notification will appear. Instead of a message, the chat will contain the phrase "You deleted this message."
Confirm the deletion of the "SMS" from all devices of the participants in the dialogueIn the chat on the recipient's device, the phrase "This message has been deleted" will appear instead of this "SMS".
The interlocutor will receive a notification that you have removed the "sms" from the correspondenceIf you want to remove several "sms" at once, hold down one of them, and then tap on the rest to highlight them in blue too.
Long press one message and then select other SMS that you want to remove from the dialogTap on the basket at the top. Check the box to delete media files if they were in messages. And confirm the action by clicking on "Delete from all". In the dialog box, agree to the cleanup.
Click on the last option "Delete for everyone"On iOS
The principle of clearing messages in WhatsApp on iOS will be almost the same as on Android:
- In the chat section, select the message to delete.
Hold your finger on it for a while - a dark panel will appear. Click on the arrow on it - tap on "Delete". If necessary, select the rest of the "sms" that you want to remove with blue checkmarks. Click on the basket, which will be located in the lower left corner of the chat.
In the panel that appears, select "Delete"Click on the first item "Delete for everyone" in the gray menu.
Confirm the deletion of SMS from all chat participantsConfirm the action in the additional window.
Click on OK to confirm the clearing of the dialog for all interlocutorsOn the devices of all chat participants, a message about clearing will appear.
All participants in the conversation will receive a notification that SMS has been deletedHow to delete a message if the time limit has already expired
Now let's see how you can delete a message that was sent more than sixty-eight minutes ago, but has not yet been read. This is done like this:
- First, turn on “ Flight mode ” on your device.
- Then go to the smartphone settings.
- Go to section “ Date and time ”.
- Disable the automatic time detection option.
- Then manually change the time (and date if needed) to the time the message was sent.
- Now go to the chat and delete the desired message, as written in the previous instructions.
That's it, when you're done don't forget to turn auto time back on and turn off airplane mode.
Now you know how to delete a sent message from everyone in WhatsApp (whatsapp). Despite the fact that there are still some unpleasant limitations in its use, this feature will still be very useful for any WhatsApp user. Perhaps in the future these restrictions will be lifted, and you will be able to remove the message even from the phone of your interlocutor, but for now you will have to be content with what you have.
Non-standard solution
There is another cardinal way to clean up the history content at the messenger server level. The service is paid, but it allows you to delete the correspondence or, if necessary, restore it.
The service is called Whatsapp Printout. It allows you to copy all the dialogues by phone number and send them to e-mail.
On Android
Most phones have automatic time detection. Disable this feature and set the required data manually:
- Go to your smartphone settings (gear icon on the home screen).
Open the "Time and date" block.
Go to the section with date and time settingsUncheck the first item "Network date and time" so that the data is not set automatically.
Uncheck the first item to enable manual settingClick on the date first.
Click on the item "Date"Set the date when the message you want to delete was sent. And preferably 1-2 days earlier. Tap on OK.
Set the desired day, month and year and click on OKDo the same with the time, but so that the interval is at least one hour. If you need to remove several messages at the very beginning of the correspondence, immediately put the date preceding the start of your communication with the recipient. After that, delete the messages using the instructions above. When you clean up, do not forget to return the real date and time in the phone settings.
Option 1: Deleting messages and conversations
Sometimes users need to clear not only individual messages, but entire conversations. To delete entire correspondence or specific SMS, different methods are used.
Some messages
If you want to delete certain messages within one or more conversations in WhatsApp, follow these steps:
- Open WhatsApp and select the conversation in which you want to delete messages.
- Press and hold an SMS with your finger to highlight it. If you want to delete multiple messages, just tap them once.
- An urn icon will appear at the top of the screen, click on it and confirm your actions by clicking button 9 in the pop-up window0272 "Delete from me" .
By following the above steps, you will be able to delete any messages from different dialogs.
Full conversation
To delete an entire conversation, follow the same steps:
- Open the conversation you want to delete.
- Click on the three dots in the right corner to open the menu. Then click on the option "More" , and then "Clear chat" .
- In the window that appears, you need to confirm the previous actions with the button "Clear" . Sometimes you also need to get rid of photos and videos if they take up too much memory on your phone. To do this, check the box next to item "Delete media files from your phone" .
The correspondence has now been deleted. But this is not enough to remove the information in the history. In order to remove the dialog from the messenger window, follow these steps:
- Touch and hold a chat until it is highlighted.
- At the top of the screen, click on the trash icon.
- Perform the third step above.
Option 2: deleting specific or all conversations
If you need to delete several chats or the entire conversation, then the method of clearing each message individually will not work for you, as this is a very long process. It will be more convenient to delete all dialogs or some of them at once.
Certain conversations
You may have already figured out, after studying the steps described above, how you can clear the messenger from several conversations. To do this, perform the following actions:
- Hold the dialog with your finger to select it. Then tap the rest of the conversations to add them to the list of chats you want to delete.
- At the top of the screen, click on the trash icon. When a window appears on the monitor, click "Delete" , and if necessary, check the box next to the corresponding item to delete media files.
- All marked dialogs will be permanently deleted.
All conversations
If you need to remove all dialogues from WhatsApp, and there are not too many of them, you can use the method suggested earlier - select all correspondence and delete by clicking on the trash. But, if conversations have been accumulating for more than one month, then this method is not very suitable. It is better to do the following steps:
- Go to section "Chats" and click on the three dots in the upper right corner. From the context menu that appears, select "Settings" .
- In the displayed list, click item "Chats" and then "History of chats" .
- You need to choose which action to perform: "Clear all chats" or "Delete all chats" . If you use the first method, then all dialogs will be deleted, but their names are saved in section "Chats" . You can also use the option "Remove everything except favorites" . If you decide to choose the second option, then even the names of the people with whom you corresponded will be removed from the section "Chats" .
- Confirm your action by pressing the button "Delete all messages" . In addition, you can keep or remove all media files that have been saved to your phone.
After following the steps above, you can easily clear WhatsApp from conversations or delete individual SMS.
On iOS
Consider which sections to go to on the iPhone to change the time and date:
- In the settings, open the "General" block.
Expand the "Date and time" menu.
Go to the "Date and time" blockTap on the "Automatic" switch so that it turns gray.
Turn off automatic date and time detectionClick on the line where the current date and time are written in blue characters.
Tap on the line with the current timeUsing two "drums", set the required data - the date and time when messages for deletion have not yet been sent. Go to the messenger and delete all unnecessary "sms" from yourself and from the interlocutor. After that, set the automatic detection of the date and time again.
Manually change the day and monthMethod 1: deleting messages and conversations
The first option to remove unnecessary information from your smartphone is to clear some or all of the SMS in the conversation.
Some messages
In order to perform this procedure, you need to follow a few simple steps:
- Open WhatsApp and go to the Chats section . Open a dialog in which you need to delete some sms.
- Press your finger on the message you want to get rid of, and in the menu that appears, find the item "Delete" .
- Boxes will appear next to each item in the conversation. Check the box next to those SMS from which you want to clear the conversation. Next, click on the urn icon.
- To confirm your action, press the button "Delete from me" . Now marked messages will be destroyed.
Full conversation
If the dialogue has not been cleared for a long time, then the previous method will not work, since the process will take a very long time. In order to quickly delete the entire conversation, follow these steps:
- Enter the dialog and click the name of the person with whom the correspondence was conducted at the top of the screen.
- In the list that opens, find section "Clear chat" . Confirm your actions by pressing the key "Delete all messages" .
- When you reopen this dialog, you will find that there are no more messages.
Method 2: certain or all conversations
Almost every user has had to delete WhatsApp conversations. For example, when deleting a contact from the phone leaves an unnecessary dialog. Such a conversation will need to be erased separately. It is possible to delete both long correspondence and all dialogues in general. There are several options for this.
Certain conversations
To completely delete a conversation with a user, you don't even have to open it. You can use the cleanup function right in the "Chats" section. This method is very handy when you need to remove multiple dialogs at once.
- Open Chats, find the conversation you want to delete, tap its title, and swipe left. After that, the "More" button will appear.
- When you press this key, a list of possible actions will be displayed.
- In the event that you need to delete all SMS from the conversation, but keep the chat name, press the button "Clear chat" and then "Delete all messages" . If your goal was to delete all messages and multimedia, and even the name of the conversation, select the "Delete chat" line, and then click the same button again.
Full conversation
If you need to completely delete all dialogs, then the methods described above will not work for you. For iPhone, this method is used:
- Go to the messenger and click on the icon in the lower right corner. When "Settings" opens, select the section "Chats" .
- If you want to delete absolutely all messages from existing conversations, press the key "Clear all chats" . If you need to get rid of dialogs and even mentions of them, select the key "Delete all chats" . If you decide to choose the second option, then the main page of your messenger will become empty, as if you just installed WhatsApp.
If you decide to resort to the complete deletion of all created conversations, then to confirm this action you will have to indicate your number to which WhatsApp is registered and press the "Clear / delete all chats" button.
Step by step instructions for windows

- From the proposed list of actions, select the line "Delete message" .
- Now click the button "Delete from me" in the new window.
Method 2: Clearing a conversation

- In the tab that opens, click on the button "Delete" .

After reading this article, you can get rid of unnecessary messages in dialogs or completely delete correspondence that you no longer need. How to delete all or several conversations can also be read in the described methods. Using these instructions, you can complete the process of cleaning up unnecessary SMS, regardless of which device you visited the messenger from and which OS you used.
How to permanently delete a WhatsApp conversation
You cannot do this on your own. Requires admin-level access to the application with an encrypted login key.
Many people ask us: “if you delete whatsapp, will the correspondence be saved?”. Yes, even if you uninstall the program, the dialogue history will not go anywhere. Moreover, all participants in the conversation will have copies of them.
All that subscribers have at their disposal is the deletion of whatsapp correspondence for those dialogues in which you yourself participated, sent or received SMS. The top two options we have considered partially solve this problem.
Cleaning the WhatsApp printout forever without recovery
Each of you knows that all dialogs are stored on the program server and can be removed at the first request of the state. authorities, therefore, you must take care of your own safety in advance.
As they say, to get interested in you, you have to do something serious. If you are a law-abiding citizen, then there would seem to be no cause for concern. However, this is misleading. If you are a family man and sometimes behave like a free person, then your wife (husband) may suspect you. Buying a Vatsap printout via the Internet will not be difficult and all your text SMS will be in front of your eyes. And this is treason with proof. Previously, surveillance was carried out by a detective, now it is enough to go online and wait two hours. All information is sent by email. We do not ask about motives and goals. Complete anonymity, an outsider will never know about what is happening.
What you can get:
- read the dialogues of someone else's number (husband, wife, friend, colleague)
- get back your lost sms and calls
- Retrieve lost contacts from address book
- view sent and incoming media files (video, photo)
Or another situation, what to do with an interlocutor who threatens to distribute personal correspondence, audio messages or photos? You can't fight it on your own. All that is available to you is to go to court after the fact, however, such cases are often not even accepted.
The service for cleaning up archives of sms or calls from the application comes to the rescue. Our specialists connect to messenger servers that store user history databases. It cannot be downloaded or read in the public domain. To go there, you must have a key through the collection of information.
You can only order it for money. Given the large number of applicants, we have reduced prices to wholesale, now they will suit every client. You will be able to:
- delete audio messages, video recordings on the interlocutor's phone that were sent to him a few months ago. The maximum term is up to 3 years.
- delete the correspondence of all participants forever without restoring
- block all group chats you have joined
In a group
In a group chat, the file and text are deleted, even if one of the participants has already opened the message and it has the status “Read”. You can delete one or more messages in a group in the same way as in a chat with 2 participants. If messages have not been deleted due to network failures or other reasons, you will not receive notification of their deletion.
Ways to remove voice files
Today, the exchange of not text, but also voice recordings is very popular. The same rules apply to work with it.
Important!
Audio files in Whatsapp are stored not only in the chat messages, but also in a separate internal folder of the application (when a certain option is activated).
To prevent voice messages from disappearing from the chat in the program settings, you can enable the backup function to the cloud or a separate directory. In this case, even if the files are deleted, you can always listen again without any special recovery procedures.
Modern instant messengers are becoming user-friendly. The inept actions of inexperienced interlocutors can always be corrected. If there was a mistake, the wrong words were thrown, everything can be corrected. And if the interlocutor did not have time to read the message, then he will not know about it.
Voice messages
Audio recordings are removed from the conversation history in the same way as text. After holding down the desired voice message, click "Delete". But audio messages in WhatsApp may not disappear forever, since they are stored not only in the chat, but also in the internal directory of the application (when this option is activated). In order to activate the function of saving files offline, it is not necessary to make attempts to restore deleted recordings. It is enough to select the backup function and virtual storage in the phone settings, where audio messages will be duplicated.
Is it possible not to delete, but to recall a message in WhatsApp?
Finally, we note that the whatsapp + version has long had an option that allows you to cancel the sent message. It's simple to use it. It is enough to do this:
- Go to the chat.
- Press your finger on the message you want to delete. We don't let go right away. Hold for a few seconds.
- In the additional menu that appears, click on the icon of 3 dots. It is hidden in the upper right corner.
- Select "revoke". Then we confirm the command. That's all!
