5. Reset the MS Store Cache

  1. Press Windows key + R.
  2. Enter wsreset.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. A Command Prompt window will briefly open to reset the MS Store cache.
  5. After that, restart Windows.

6. Modify the hosts file

  1. Press Windows key + S and type notepad. Right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator to launch it.
  2. Click File and then Open.
  3. Then navigate to the following directory: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\
  4. Change Text Documents to All files and select hosts.
  5. Then add 127.0.0.1 ads.viber.com to the last line of the hosts file.
  6. Save changes.

7. Turn off Windows Defender Firewall

  1. Press Windows key + S and type firewall. Choose Windows Defender Firewall.
  2. Select Turn Windows Defender Firewall on or off.
  3. Now select Turn off Windows Defender Firewall for both types of connections and click OK.

Check if Viber still opens and closes immediately on your Windows 10 PC. If the issue doesn’t appear anymore, your firewall blocks the application. So, enable the firewall and adjust your settings accordingly.

1.1 How to Install Viber on Windows

Installing Viber on a laptop or computer is a fairly easy process even for an inexperienced user. After all, the official website of the messenger contains all the necessary files, and the installation of the program is accompanied by clear tips and instructions.

The presence of a smartphone and the Viber application installed on it will allow you to quickly download it to any other device, since the program account is linked to the number. To do this, you need to follow these steps in several steps:

  • Go to the official Viber website and select for which operating system you need to download the application - Windows or Mac.
  • Find the downloaded document on your PC and open it. In the installation window that appears, click "Run" and then - "Install". The application icon will appear on the taskbar and on the desktop soon.

  • Download the emulator from the official website. Run it and click "Next" to accept the terms of the license agreement. Select the folder where the program will be installed on your PC and click "Next" again.
  • Before the final stage of installation, make sure that opposite the items "Access to the application store" and "Application communications". Click "Install" and click "Finish" to complete the process.
  • Run the program, click "Sign in with Google" and enter the application.

The first stage is over, now you need to use the program directly to install Viber on a PC without a smartphone.
