When you add posts to your Instagram archive, where do they go? Here's how to view them...
If you're like most people, you have a few posts on Instagram that you would rather not have anyone see anymore. Maybe they're from a time in your life that you'd rather forget, or maybe they just aren't very flattering.
Luckily, Instagram makes it easy to hide these posts from view without deleting them thanks to its archive feature. But what if you want to revisit these images and videos later?
In this article, we will show you how to view posts that you've archived on Instagram.
When you archive a post on Instagram, it means the post is no longer visible on your profile.
However, the post is not deleted, and you can view it at any time by going to your archive. You can also choose to unarchive the post, which will make it visible on your profile again.
The archive feature allows you to hide these posts without having to delete them. This can be useful if you want to keep the post for sentimental reasons.
The archive feature is only available on the mobile version of Instagram, so you'll need to use the Instagram app to view your archived posts.
That said, here's how to view posts you've archived on the gram:

You will be able to view all of your archived posts here. We've earlier covered how to archive and unarchive posts on Instagram. If you're not sure how to do that, be sure to check out our guide.
When you archive a post, it's only visible to you. Not even people tagged in the photo can see it. The only way for someone to see an archived post is if you unarchive it.
The Instagram archive feature makes it easy to hide posts without deleting them. Revisiting them is also simple, as long as you know which menus to access.

The post archiving feature was added to the Instagram app in 2017. Since then, it has become even more convenient to manage the content of the account, to put things in order in the feed. In this post, you will find out where the archive is on Instagram, what innovations this feature has brought and how to use it. If you are too lazy to read the text, go straight to the video.

Let's say you decide to revise the posts on your Instagram page and while browsing you find unnecessary posts that have lost their relevance.
Deleting posts and photos is not a good idea: over time, content may be needed again.
Actually adding to the Archive is hiding the story / publication from the feed. It should be emphasized that this is not a deletion, as it used to be on Instagram. By archiving content, you hide it from the eyes of other users, while it is actually available through your account. See also other archive functions.
The archive is located in the Instagram application section of the same name. In turn, it consists of two subsections - Archive of stories and Archive of publications.
You will need the latest version of the Instagram mobile app (you can download and install it for free on both Android and iOS).
Let's say you changed your mind and now you want to return a photo from the Instagram archive to your feed. Actually, it's very easy to do this. To restore a post from the archive, follow these steps:
As soon as this feature appeared on Instagram, not all users appreciated it and did not understand its purpose.
We offer several ways to archive the function.
Of course, the possibilities of the archive are not limited to this. This feature is useful if:
Just add questionable and unnecessary materials to the archive and see how it affects the “look” of the updated profile.
Instagram archive allows you to experiment by adding or deleting posts, photos with the ability to quickly restore to the feed.
If you don't like something, restore everything from the archive and experiment again after a while, with fresh thoughts and inspiration.
In fact, there are many reasons for deleting posts from Instagram.
If the content, in your opinion, does not meet the interests of the audience, it is easy to remove it, or rather, hide it. Why delete the works forever, if a newly opened post can gain new life. This is where the archiving feature comes in handy.
An additional advantage of such a "deletion" is that comments and likes to the publication are saved along with the post.
You can postpone a post for later publication / revision by creating it and immediately adding it to the Instagram archive. Through the archive, you can create drafts, edit them, and then publish them in their final form.
Be that as it may, the archive function is very useful. The main thing is that it allows you to do without accidental deletion, protecting the user from losing important photos and posts on Instagram.

After the next Instagram update, some users lost the archive from the settings.
If this is the first time you hear about the archive, a small note is a place where you can transfer posts, stories and live broadcasts so that they are visible only to you.
This article will tell you how to find an archive and how to restore a publication from an archive.

The archive is located in the profile menu. Click on the 3 horizontal lines, the menu opens. Between the settings and statistics there should be an item "Archive".
If not present, solutions:
1. Update the application. Usually this is enough for the "Archive" item to return to the menu.
2. For some users, the archive has moved to the "Your activity" item. Open the profile menu, go to the activity, scroll down - there should be an item "Archive". It can also be displayed simultaneously in the profile menu and in the "Your activity" menu.
3. If none of the methods helped, we make it easier. We go to the profile menu, then to "Settings". In the search bar, write the word "Archive".

There are 3 types of archive in the Archive section. By default, archived stories are displayed. If you click on the checkbox, all views will be displayed.
How to return stories. Stories cannot be returned from the archive, because stories are only stored for 24 hours. To keep them longer and be visible to other users, they can be placed in the actual. But a story from the archive can be shared with contacts in Direct, and it can also be posted as a new story memory.
To share a story, find it in the archive, open it, then click "More" to bring up the menu. To send to Direct, click "Send" and select a contact.
To place it as a story-memories, select the “Share” item in the menu.
Instagram automatically puts down the date of the memory, that is, when the story was posted for the first time.
How to return a post from the archive. Open the archive of publications, click on the post. Then 3 dots in the upper right corner, select "Show in profile" in the menu.
*You may find that the post never appeared on the profile, although it disappeared from the archive. What to do in this case is to exit Instagram, remove it from the background (that is, close it completely). Then re-enter the application. The post will appear on the account page.
You can download the recording of the live broadcast from the archive to your device or upload it to your profile.
The temporary disappearance of the archive on Instagram from the menu is due to the update of the application and the fact that for some users this item has moved to another section (Your activity).
