How to Connect Facebook and Your Calendar
Even though Facebook has been facing public and political scrutiny recently, the fact remains that it remains the social media network. Facebook has 1.45 billion active users per day. It’s such a popular communication channel; it’s no surprise that you’ve probably received many social invites on Facebook. But — here’s how to connect FB and your Calendar.
Think about the last time someone emailed or you sent a card inviting you to their birthday party or wedding. Many invites are accomplished through Facebook; but are you sure everyone got the message? I’ve seen quite a few analog-type invites this summer, and it’s been fun to see those old-fashioned announcements come in the actual mail. But the fact is: we still need to move forward digitally, getting away from the mess of paper and it’s other obvious drawbacks.
Much communication is done through Facebook. When you are looking to learn more about an individual or a business or business person or leader — where do go besides their website? Mostly it’s probably on their Facebook page and maybe to LinkedIn for information. On FB, you get a better idea of their personality.
While inviting people to events and presenting communication through Facebook may seem like the thing-to-do –and it’s definitely convenient; this does present a problem with two-ends.
The Problem with Facebook and Scheduling
First, Facebook events aren’t automatically connected to your calendar unless you’re proactive. Proactive means taking an extra action. If you receive a birthday invite on Facebook, you have to consult and add the event to your Google Calendar. Not the end of the world — but it does make scheduling a bit tricky.
For example, you may agree to attend a party but then notice on your Google Calendar you already committed to another event. This problem of double-booking wouldn’t have happened if everything was synced.
Secondly, if you run a service-based business or you must (you’re required) attend meetings for work, some tools allow people to schedule an appointment or event with you directly on Facebook.
Allowing people to schedule is super convenient — if they don’t stand you up. Be sure and double-check before your appointment, or have your assistant confirm so that you have no skipped appointments. If someone likes what they see on your Facebook page, they can go ahead and schedule an appointment, meeting, or event for themselves.
But, you may run into that first problem again. The event is added to Facebook, but not necessarily to your master calendar. Keep checking for the double-booked problem — and don’t forget entirely about your Google Calendar events. Just stay alert and active on this channel to avoid problems.
The good news? There ways to eliminate these problems by connecting Facebook and your calendar together.
Syncing Facebook Events to Your Calendar
Adding your Facebook events to Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, or iCloud Calendar is relatively straightforward.
Login into your Facebook account then head over to your Events page.
Next, click the Settings drop down and select Export. Within here you’ll want to right-click on Birthdays or whatever even you wish to add to your calendar. Choose Copy link address for Google Chrome users. It will be. Copy link location for Mozilla Firefox. Copy shortcut for Internet Explorer; or subscribe if using iMessage.
Now, open up your calendar and paste the Facebook link. In Google Calendar, you would add your Facebook Calendar by going into Other Calendars.
If using Outlook, click the Outlook icon in the popup dialogue box. You’ll be asked if you want Outlook to subscribe to updates, click “Yes,” and you’re all set.
For iPhone users, tap on Settings > Mail > Contacts > Calendars > Add Account. Next, go to Other, locate the ‘Calendars’ section, and tap on Add Subscribed Calendar. Finally, paste the Facebook link into the Server box, and then tap Next and Save.
Syncing Your Calendar to Facebook
What if you want to share your calendar with your Facebook followers?
Most online calendars allow you to share them publicly.
For example, Google Calendar and Outlook; Outlook Calendar; have unique URLs. In Google, you select the calendar you want to share by going in Settings and sharing. Scroll down, and you’ll see the link. Copy and paste it to a Facebook page.
However, why not just automate the process? Once you trust a process — automation is better for work — or try ScheduleOnce.
With tools like IFTTT and Zapier, whenever a new event is created in Google Calendar, the details will automatically be shared on Facebook. Since IFTTT also integrates with Office 365 and iCloud, you should also be able to create a similar recipe.

Sync Facebook Birthday & Event Calendar To iPhone Calendar

Wishing someone a happy birthday on Facebook nowadays has become so common. But have you ever missed out on wishing that one, special person because you did not access Facebook that day, of all days?
In Facebook you have notification settings that help remind you of your friends’ birthdays but it will be easier to keep track of all the dates if you could add all your Facebook friends’ birthday to your iPhone calendar.
Doing it one friend at a time is a hassle.
Well, you do not have to worry about that anymore. In a few simple steps, I am going to tell you how to have your Facebook friends’ birthdays – and even your Facebook events – synced to your iPhone calendar.
Once you get this set up, you will never miss out on a birthday ever again. So let’s begin.

Export the Facebook Calendar
First, you need to export your unique Facebook calendar information:

Log in to your Facebook account and click on Events located on the left navigation panel.

Look for the gear located on the right side of the page and click on Export.

A small popup will be on screen with two links, one for Birthdays and another for Events. Copy the link for your friends’ birthday.
Right-click then select Copy link address if you use Google Chrome; Copy link location for Mozilla Firefox; or Copy shortcut for Internet Explorer.
Adding Facebook’s Calendar to Your iPhone
If you use iMessage on your Mac, send the link over to your iPhone. Tap that link on your iPhone. Hit Subscribe. And you’re done.
If you can’t use iMessage, email the links to yourself. Open the email on your iPhone, copy the link then follow the following steps:

On your iPhone, tap on Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account.

Tap on Other and under the ‘Calendars’ section, tap on Add Subscribed Calendar.

Paste the link into the Server box, and then tap Next. Then, tap Save.
Repeat the steps above if you want to add the Events calendar using the Events link instead of the Birthday link when you export the Facebook Calendar.
To Keep Track of Birthdays
To see the birthday calendar, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Subscribed Calendars.
In your iPhone Calendar App, you’ll notice that most of your dates are filled with names. If you enabled Calendar for the Notification Center, you’ll be able to see all the birthdays of today and the days to come.

Now, isn’t this a much easier way to have all your friends’ birthdays details stored in your iPhone? Best of all, the birthdays of your "new friends" will automatically be updated to your iPhone calendar. How to Add Facebook Events to iPhone Calendar
Facebook does a great job of sending reminders via notifications to wish your Facebook friends a happy birthday. But more often than not, these reminders get lost or ignored in a plethora of other Facebook notifications. As a result, you may miss important events and birthday reminders on Facebook.
This problem has a simple solution.
Add Facebook events to your iPhone calendar and you can forget all the hassle of checking Facebook and your iPhone calendar for event reminders or notifications for birthdays and anniversaries. Needless to say, manually adding each event to your iPhone calendar will take a very long time. Follow these step by step instructions on how to sync Facebook birthdays with iPhone iOS 12 calendar.
Step 1 Install and open the Facebook application. Sign in with your Facebook username and password. If the application is already installed, go directly to the next step.
Step 2: Open the Facebook app and click "Settings", it will include the calendar.
Step 3: Click on the calendar and turn it on. This will automatically add Facebook events to the iPhone calendar.
On a Windows PC:
Step 1. Log in to Facebook using the system browser.

Step 1. Log in to your Facebook account and click "Events" on the left side of the screen.
Step 2: You will be taken to the "Events" page, which will show all upcoming events. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you'll find a small box on the right that says you can add your events to another calendar like Outlook and the Apple calendar. You will have to add upcoming birthdays and upcoming events separately. You have the option to add one and not add the other if you don't want to. Step 3: Click the Upcoming Events or Birthdays link, depending on what you want to sync. A popup will appear asking "Allow this page to open "Calendar"?" Click Allow.
Step 4: In the next pop-up window, the URL will already be entered, in the field of which you must click "Subscribe".
