How to post tap here on instagram story

How to Share an Instagram Post to Your Story

Being able to share an Instagram post to your story is a great way to boost engagement on your posts and easily share user-generated content.

But the tricky part is making sure your repost is aligned with your Instagram Stories aesthetic.

We’re covering how you can share an Instagram post to your story with a generous side order of design hacks to keep your aesthetic at the top of its game:

How to Share an Instagram Post to Your Story

Sharing an Instagram post to your story is a great way to gain valuable extra exposure for your content.

Whether you want to share your own post to your stories feed, or you’re reposting a cool piece of user-generated content, it’s super-simple to share:

  1. Tap the paper airplane icon (share button) underneath a feed post.

  2. Select “Add Post to Your Story”.

  3. Edit the post in your Instagram Story — you can move, rotate, scale, and tap to explore other sticker styles.

Posts shared to stories become clickable stickers — creating a direct link back to the original Instagram post.

Plus, the original poster’s username will be clearly displayed, which is great for fairly crediting the contributors of user-generated content (UGC).

The whole process takes less than 10 seconds.

Why Can I No Longer Share a Feed Post to Instagram Stories?

If you've recently discovered you can no longer share an Instagram feed post to your story via the paper airplane icon, you are probably part of a test group for Instagram's new "Reshare" sticker.

To add a feed post to your story, you will now need to create a story, tap the sticker tray icon, and select the "Reshare" sticker.

From here, you will be able to select a post you've recently seen, saved, or added to your Instagram grid.

6 Design Hacks for Sharing an Instagram Feed Post to Your Story

Searching for and sharing an Instagram post to your story may be quick and easy, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best thing for your brand aesthetic on Instagram Stories.

Thanks to the rise in easy-to-use design apps — such as Storyluxe, Unfold, StoryBoost, and Over — high-quality, branded Instagram Stories are rapidly becoming the norm.

Here are our top design hacks to help you take your stories to the next level.

Design Hack #1: Use the Brush Tool for a Quick Fix

One of the easiest ways to make your Instagram Stories feel more on brand is by integrating your brand’s color palette — and this little known hack is one of the quickest ways to do it!

Simply select the brush tool, pick any color (or use the color picker to sample a color from the feed post) and then tap and hold the background for 1-3 seconds.

This is a great way to quickly make your repost stickers look more uniform and on brand.

TIP: If your brand colors aren’t readily available in the stories color menu, tap and long-hold any of the default color options at the bottom of the screen to open the color slider.

Design Hack #2: Copy and Paste a Designed Overlay

Imagine if you could create a totally on-brand Instagram Story slide, and still be able to click through to the original Instagram post.

Well with this design hack, you can.

Here are just a few examples of this hack in action on the Later Instagram account:

Here’s how to do it!

Step #1: Take a screenshot of the Instagram post you want to share on your story.

Step #2: Using an editing app (like Over, StoryBoost, Unfold, Mojo, or Storyluxe) create an Instagram Story design to sit on top of the repost sticker. You may want to use the screenshot of the original post in this design. Once completed, save this design to your Camera Roll.

Here’s an example of a quick Instagram Story design template from Unfold:

Step #3: Open the design in your Camera Roll, select the “Share” icon, and tap “Copy”.

Step #4: Go back into the Instagram app, and follow the steps to share a feed post to your story.

Step #5: Tap on the story to open a text editor, and then hold down for a second until the “Paste” button pops up. Click “Paste” to import your design.

Step #6: Move and scale your design to fit the screen (covering the repost sticker) and add extra text or GIFs to really bring the post to life.

The finished story will still contain a link back to the original feed post — even if it’s hidden from view by the design you’ve pasted over it.

UGC TIP: Always credit the original poster in your design overlay (especially when it comes to user-generated content) and include text or a GIF to encourage more click-throughs, such as “Tap Here”!

Design Hack #3: Use Fun Instagram Overlay Stickers

Now you’re up to speed with the copy and paste hack, you can use it to add all sorts of cool design elements to your Instagram Stories.

Influencers and designers, like Mallory Joy, regularly add Instagram overlay stickers to their stories for an extra creative touch.

Once you’ve found overlay stickers that suit your brand style (check out this blog post for some killer examples) simply download a pack of Instagram overlay stickers (a PNG file) to your Camera Roll, and use the copy and paste trick to add them to a story.

Design Hack #4: Create a Collage Effect by Copy and Pasting Images or Using the Add from Camera Roll Sticker

Creating a picture collage on Instagram is a popular trend, with brands such as Summer Fridays regularly sharing them on their stories.

To create a similar effect on a repost sticker story, simply copy and paste several images around the post (or use the "Add from Camera Roll" Instagram Stories sticker) — making sure that the original post is still easily clickable and clearly credited.

Layering up images in this way is a quick and fun way to make repost stickers look more curated and on-brand — and you can also edit the background color (using Hack #1) once you’re happy with the layout!

Design Hack #5: Add Text, Brush Strokes, GIFs, and Instagram Stickers

Even without any secret design hacks, you can still get super creative with the tools available in the Instagram Stories editor!

Text, brush strokes, GIFs, and stickers can transform a simple post — making it more engaging and better aligned with your brand.

And you can even create custom Instagram Stories GIFs to add to your stories — making your GIFs even more on-brand.

At Later, we design custom Instagram Stories GIFs for different events and campaigns, making it really easy to make our stories more branded.

Design Hack #6: Fill the Whole Screen With the Repost Sticker

Last but not least, you can fill the whole screen with a repost sticker — removing the background element altogether.

This may seem like a quick and easy fix, but there are some things to keep in mind.

First off, it’s important to make sure the repost sticker looks good at a bigger scale — as low quality images can easily look grainy or distorted.

Take note of how Memobottle uses this hack with super high-quality UGC:

It's also a good idea to make sure the original poster is still clearly credited — even if it’s through a text overlay.

Sharing Instagram posts to stories is a great way to integrate more user-generated content into your content strategy — which can be a powerful tool for strengthening the sense of community on your channel.

Plus, by sharing your own posts as repost stickers on stories, you can drive even more traffic to your feed.

With these top design hacks, you’ll never have to compromise the aesthetic of your Instagram Stores again.

How to Share Posts From the Instagram Feed to Stories -

More than 300 million users now use Instagram stories daily and posting your feed content to stories is a great way to boost reach and engagement.

In the feature’s launch blog post Instagram explained:

When you come across something in feed that inspires you — like a post from a friend raising money for a cause or a photo of a new design from your favorite brand — you can now quickly share that post as a sticker to your story for your friends and followers to see.

How to share feed posts to Instagram Stories

To share feed posts to stories:

  1. Tap the paper airplane button below the post (like you would to send a direct message)
  2. You’ll then see an option on the following menu to “Create a story with this post”
  3. Tap it to see the feed post as a sticker with a customized background ready to share to your story. You can move, resize or rotate the photo or video. You can also use drawing tools or add text and stickers.

Any post shared to a story will include a link back to the original post and include the original poster’s username.

Only posts from public Instagram accounts can be shared to stories. If you have a public account and would like to opt-out from letting people share your posts to stories, you can do so within Instagram’s settings.

In a recent episode of The Science of Social Media, hosts, Hailley and Brian discussed this update (around the 4:45 mark in the below audio):

Want to stay up-to-date with the latest social media news and views? Subscribe on iTunes or Google Play.

How brands can use this feature

Many brands and influencers already use stories as a way to drive attention to their latest feed and promote their latest posts. This update will be a welcome improvement to this process by allowing users to directly link to their latest feed posts, rather than taking a screenshot of a post and manually adding it to stories.

As Brian mentions in the podcast, this could enable brands to use stories as a way to cross-promote their feed posts to their audience on stories — people who may have potentially missed the post in the feed.

“One of the reasons we love stories so much is that it can be used as cross-promote content and now users will be able to go from stories directly to your feed,” he explained.

Hailley also drew comparisons between this feature and Twitter’s quote tweet functionality, where users can share content from the feed, but also add their own thoughts and context around it.

This is another exciting update from Instagram — following the share to stories and live video chat announcements at F8 — and it helps to better connect the feed to stories as well as providing a way for users to re-share some of their favorite Instagram content in a more public way than sharing with a couple of friends via a direct message.

These updates now available on Android and will be coming to iOS in the coming days.

How to add a link to Instagram Stories: Post, YouTube, Telegram, Video

Update : Links in Instagram Stories are now available to all users.

A link in history allows you to direct the user to a website or another page. To follow the link you need to click on the sticker and select "Follow the link". Swipes are a thing of the past.

In the article, we will describe a new way to add a link to a story, and also share other ways to add links. As a bonus, we will tell you how to create a link sticker in your story so that people click on it more often.

How to make a link in Instagram Stories: all the ways

For greater clarity, let's introduce a few definitions. All links in stories can be conditionally divided into two types: external and internal .

  • External links lead outside the social network - to a website, YouTube channel, Telegram or WhatsApp. Since recently, all accounts can add external links to stories. Also, they can be added when launching ads. External links are shown as a sticker.
  • Internal leads to objects inside Instagram: account, post or rils. They can be added both in the form of an external link, and in the form of mentions and reposts.

Important : links are available to all users, not just those with more than 10,000 subscribers. At the same time, new accounts, as well as accounts that have repeatedly violated the Rules of the social network, will not receive access to the sticker with the link. Details of what counts as a new account in this context have not been released.

By the way, in order to get the maximum coverage of stories, the quality of your subscribers is very important. You need to understand who is watching you, how many% of live people, and how many bots and garbage, so we recommend that you conduct a complete analysis of the Instagram audience, for example, through the InstaHero service. And when you find out who is watching, commenting and liking you, you can start keeping stories tightly. And to increase coverage, engagement and activity, you can remove bots from Instagram followers.

External links in stories to a website, YouTube or blog

Let's talk about external links first.

Method number 1: available to all users

How to add a link to the story, we told in our video and further in the text.

To attach a link to a Story, follow a simple algorithm:

  1. Start creating a new story. Add a photo or video from your gallery, or take a photo or short video with your camera.
  2. Click on the sticker icon in the top menu.
  3. In the window that opens, select the "Link" sticker.
  4. You will see a field for adding a link. Copy the link you want to share and paste it here. This can be a link to a website, a landing page, a separate article or product in an online store, a link to a YouTube channel or video, and even to a Telegram channel.
To check the correctness of the entered url-address, click "Preview".
  5. Add additional elements and labels.
Many users don't know how to follow a link in History. Push them to the target action - add a call to the link on the photo or video to learn something interesting.

After the link is published, in the Stories statistics, you will see how many clicks were made on the link. To analyze navigation in web analytics systems, use UTM tags or other markup.

Method #2: Advertising in Stories

Adding a link when setting up an ad is a more time-consuming, but also more effective process. To set up ads, you must first go to the Facebook profile associated with your Instagram business account, and click on "Create Ads". Or go directly to the Facebook Ads Manager.

In your account, click "Create ad" and follow the simple algorithm of actions.

Select the purpose of the advertisement. There are 6 goals available for links in stories, including Traffic, App Installs, Conversions. Choose the appropriate goal depending on the format of the business account and the link being promoted.

Select the campaign objective. Clicks or views can be selected here. That is, you will pay either for clicking on the link, or for visiting the page when the user waits for it to load.

Set up an account. If you have not created an ad on Facebook before, you will be prompted to specify the time zone, country and currency of the ad account.

Set up audience . Choose the place where the link leads - to the site, application or messenger. Then specify the desired parameters of the target audience: gender, age, interests, and others.

Select the ad space. By default, the ad will be shown on three sites. If you only want Instagram Stories, click on "Edit Placements" and check "Instagram, Stories" only.

Set a budget and select a bid strategy . You can set a daily budget limit or an amount for the entire campaign, and the system will distribute it evenly. Then choose a bid strategy - by default, the system selects the lowest price. If you want, you can set it manually, to do this, click on "Set a bid limit". The lower it is, the less likely it is that the ad will be shown.

Select the ad format. You can select one image or one video. From a marketing point of view, it is better to use video - despite the fact that advertising has a time limit of 15 seconds, it allows you to better convey the idea to users and add a more prominent call to action.

After filling in the required fields, a preview will open in front of you. On this page, you can upload images or videos for your ad, add a call to action, add or edit a URL. After saving, your ad will start showing to the target audience according to the selected parameters and the set budget.

Instagram Stories ads are quite short. In addition, after viewing, they are closed automatically, and the user will not be able to view them again. Therefore, add a bright call to action, limited in time - this will increase the conversion.

Internal link in the story to a post, account or IGTV

Once again, please note that such a link will not be in the form of a swipe in the story, it will be just a mention.

Method #3: link to the Reels in the story
  1. Open the Reels you want to share in the story and click on the airplane icon in the menu on the right.
  2. Select Add Reels to Your Story.
  3. Add text, stickers and other design elements as you like.
Method #4: link to the story in the post
  1. Open the post you want to share a link to.
  2. Repost a story post: click the airplane icon below it.
  3. Select Add Post to Your Story.
  4. Add text, stickers and other design elements as you like.
Method number 5: link to the account
  1. Start creating a Story.
  2. Open the sticker panel and select the Mention sticker.
  3. Enter the name of the account you want to link to. Design your story and add other elements as you see fit.
Method #6: link to the video

After combining the IGTV format and the video, the link to the video is published by analogy with the repost of the publication.

How to create a link sticker in Instagram stories

As you already understood, now instead of swiping in stories, a link sticker will be displayed. Accordingly, the approach to design also changes. Now, instead of a pointer to a swipe, you need to select a link sticker and add a pointer to it or make a highlight. You can do this for free with Canva.

  1. Sign up on canva.com and activate your free 30 day trial ( don't forget to unsubscribe later if you want to use the service for free ).
  2. Select the Instagram Story template.
  3. Add any layout available in the menu on the left and change it to your liking. Or create a layout from scratch.
  4. Add a pointer to the layout. To do this, in the elements section, enter in the search [ here ] or [ here ].
Place the element you like on the layout, in the place where the link will be located (you don't need to add the text Place under the link , as in our example).
  5. Go to the story editor and upload the created layout. Then add the link sticker to the desired location and post the story.

If you're posting a live video, just show your followers what to do and point to the link with a gesture.

For internal links, use the story editor. Add text, arrows, and GIFs to show users where to click to navigate.

Conclusion

Link in Instagram story is another way to work with your audience. For bloggers, this is an additional way to monetize your account.

How to add publication to the history on Instagram and laid it out, to share post

Instagram has gained popularity among hundreds of thousands of users in just a few years. Every day, millions of people post photos and videos about their personal lives, while other millions of users look at other people's pages. Here everyone can become a star in a short time. Post videos that are stored on the page for exactly a day and catch likes. You can always see how many people and who viewed your story. If you want to join the ranks of famous people, then read how to add a post to your Instagram story. This is not difficult to do, you just need to take a few steps on the way to popularity.

Why post

Sometimes you want to share your favorite photos or videos with your followers. To do this, you can repost someone else's story on your Instagram. This can only be done from an open page from which reposts are allowed. Such an opportunity has appeared relatively recently. Many bloggers use stories for advertising.

To add a publication you like or place an ad in your own story, you need to find the necessary information. Under each picture or video on the open page is a special symbol in the form of a paper airplane.

By clicking on the footnote, a pop-up window appears, where the first line appears "Add to your story" or share information via direct. After clicking the airplane, the photo or video will appear on the blogger's personal page.

It is worth noting that the storage period of stories is limited - exactly 24 hours. In a day, storis will be deleted.

Moderators went to improve Instagram services and created the ability to save eternal stories. To do this, when publishing, you must indicate that you want to save the photo or video. Another point is the ability to combine the necessary into one topic and gradually add new photos there. Such innovations were greeted with enthusiasm by Instagram fans and bloggers.

Attention! The listed updates will become possible after updating the mobile application.

How to upload your story to Instagram

Stories are very popular on Instagram for absolutely everyone. They allow you to upload videos about recent and highlight events, talk about the event and share emotions. To post a story on an iPhone or Android, you will have to follow identical steps.

Log in to your mobile account. A special window will appear at the top, where the stories of the people who are following the account are displayed. Here, in a round window, a user photo and a symbol in the form of a “+” sign with the inscription “Your story” appear.

By clicking on the window, you will be asked to add a photo or video from the gallery on your phone, or take a photo again. After selecting a publication, click "Next". A window will appear asking you to share storis. To publish a story, you need to select the line publish a story.

After a while the information will be loaded and will appear on the personal page. Subscribers will be able to view the publication during the day, and the user can track information in real time. In addition, at any time, stories are deleted by the user himself. You can also add several stories at once, with time intervals.

For publication, Internet users and analysts allocate even the best time for publication. This is due to the fact that in some time frames more people appear on the Internet and, accordingly, more views.

Designing stories

To make stories look high quality and attractive, it simply needs to be designed. There are several ways to do this. Before the final upload, the application will prompt you to use:

  • boomerang - the uploaded episode will be repeated in reverse order;
  • superzoom - zoom function with visual and sound effects;
  • focus - portrait shooting mode;
  • and others.

The latest updates allow you to use various decorations in the form of masks, hearts and other curly frames.
