From the beginning, Apple is a whole lot better in organizing the files, applications, storage, data, and more.

Fortunately, after updating the iPhone to iOS 14, we don’t need to do anything; the App Library will automatically appear at the end of the app pages. Here’s how to hide Instagram from the iPhone home screen.

  1. Touch and hold the Instagram app icon.
  2. Tap Remove app.
  3. Confirm by selecting, Remove from Home Screen.

Later, if you change your mind and want to bring back the Instagram app again to the home screen, then navigate to the App Library, find the Instagram App, long-press the Instagram app, and choose to Add to Home Screen.

  7. Choose 12+ from the list. Keep note that when you select 12+, all the applications with age restriction 12+ will vanish from the iPhone.

Store Instagram App in App Folders

This is not a safe method to hide the application, but if you think, it’s okay if someone gets access to the Instagram app, then create an App Folder or move the Instagram app into the existing app folder. Here’s how it can be done.

  1. Long press the Instagram app and choose Edit Home Screen.
  2. Drag the Instagram app onto another app, this will create an App Folder for two of these apps.
  3. Rename the App Folder.
  4. In the same way, drag and drop the applications to remove from the App Folder.

Your Instagram App is not yet completely hidden, follow the next section to remove Instagram from Search.

How to hide an app on iPhone and close it from iOS search

The very ideology of iOS provides for quick access to the installed application. For this, it is placed on one of the desktops. But users do not always need this - sometimes the label is too intrusive or it is generally undesirable to show it to strangers.

But on Android, you can hide the application in quite regular ways, on iOS, the programs will still be displayed where they are supposed to be - on the desktop. To make the icon disappear from there, you need to delete the application itself. Is the situation really that hopeless?

It is actually possible to hide pre-installed apps like Safari. Third-party programs can be slightly masked so that they are not so easy to detect.

How do I hide a third party app and close it for searching on iPhone or iPad?

The easiest way to hide a third party application is to put it in a folder.

Although this method does not seem to be reliable, it is the one most often used by users. To create a folder, simply drag and drop one application onto another. You can group the maximum number of programs and hide the desired one among them. The name for this collection is better to give some neutral - "work", "utilities", "other" or something similar.

In our example below, we have hidden the WhatsApp messenger in a folder, removed it from iOS search, and disabled its notifications.

Notifications from this application will also need to be turned off so that it does not inadvertently signal its existence. What's the point of hiding the messenger in a folder if the program will signal new messages? You will have to go to the settings and pay attention to section "Notifications" .

You will also need to hide the app from search and Siri suggestions. To do this, in the settings in section "Siri and Search" scroll down until you see your app.

Click on it and turn off all available options: "Analyze this application" , "From application" , "Suggest application", "App in search" and "Use. with Ask Siri" .

If you don't see your application in the settings "Siri and Search" , it means that it has already been disabled earlier in "Screen Time" .

How to hide apps on iPhone and iPad: several methods

How to “hide” apps on your iPhone or iPad

photo: blog.ikeymonitor.com

When working with applications, Apple devices do not have the function to hide these same applications . You can't do this on both your iPhone and iPad, at least not in the same way as it is provided on Android gadgets. It is said that this may have been done for security reasons. Fortunately, there are a couple of tricks to help you make the app more difficult to find when searching on a smartphone with a bitten apple.

You can't completely hide an app on iOS

Apple has never provided the ability to hide apps on iOS and iPad OS. The only legal (in the sense - proposed) way to remove an application from your iPhone or iPad is to completely remove it. To uninstall an app, tap and hold its icon until the icon starts shaking and an "X" appears. To delete, simply click on the cross, and the application will be erased from the device's memory very quickly.

But what if the application needs to be hidden and not deleted? As we said, we have found several tricks that will allow you to hide the application from the eyes of third-party observers without deleting it. With the help of life hacks, applications can be removed from shortcuts and Siri suggestions, disabled from features such as notifications, and placed in a folder away from prying eyes.

Exclude an app from search and Siri 9 suggestions0027

Siri makes suggestions based on your daily tasks and app usage information. The problem is that when you regularly use Search to find apps (to do this, just swipe down on the home screen to open the search box), an app that you want to hide from strangers may be suggested from time to time. Or it may also appear when you search for other applications.

The more you use an app, the more often Siri will recommend it. And many apps will allow iOS to index searchable databases so you can quickly find documents or notes in native iOS searches. These manipulations can provide much more information than a simple Siri suggestion.

To exclude SIRI access to the application

Setting to Settings > Siri and search , at the bottom of the page you will see two sections, with the switches to the right of them:

Supply in search of
Supply in "Find"

By turning off one or both toggle switches at once, you will cancel the search for all applications through Siri. And by scrolling down the list of applications, you can find those that you want to "hide" individually. Turn off the first option on this screen: Search and Siri Suggestions to open another one: Show program. We remove the toggle switch from it.

Turning off the "show app" option will exclude the app from all search results and suggestion screens. To find an app, find its icon somewhere on the home screen or in its folders and launch it from there.

Hide the app in the folder

In the next step, you'll probably want to strike a balance between hiding the app icon and making it easy to use. How to do it? Not difficult.

The fact is that on iOS you can create folders. To do this, you need to long-press the application icon until it starts to shake, and, while holding the icon, move the icon over another application icon. A folder will appear, which will prompt you to immediately rename it to your liking. To get rid of the folder, "take out" all applications from there - the folder will disappear.

To make sure the app is well hidden, hide the icon in a folder with boring apps like utilities. No one will definitely find it there, unlike the folder with games ...

Turn off app notifications

App notifications will still appear even after you exclude them from Siri search. To stop them from reappearing, go to Section Settings > Notifications , then scroll down until you find the app you're looking for. Tap it and then turn off the option "Allow notifications" so that the application does not show any notifications on your phone.

Hide downloads from your app store history

If you delete an app from your iPhone or iPad, the Apple app store will still remember that you downloaded it. It will appear on the "purchased" tab, even if the app was downloaded for free.

Fortunately, the only area where Apple officially allows you to hide apps is in your purchase history. To view a list of previously purchased apps, first launch the App Store , go to the Today tab. Tap the user icon in the upper right corner, and then tap Purchases .

You can now scroll through the list of free and paid apps you have previously downloaded. To hide one of them, swipe left and press "Hide" to make the program disappear from the list. You can also search for any specific apps you want to hide using the Search box at the top of the screen.

Use dummy apps to hide files and notes

If you're trying to hide files and notes, you can use a dummy app to hide content in plain sight. These applications can be disguised, for example, as a calculator. However, their true goal will be to keep files and information important to you safe without arousing suspicion. And without hiding anything in folders and so on.

Bogus, or if you like, fake apps are hard to spot and easy to download from the App Store. This is a real virtual cache that a random third-party user will not guess to get into.

Application examples:

Calculator# ;
Private Calculator ;
Turbo Vault ;
Secret Folder Vault

Secret Folder Vault is a private folder that can store photos, passwords and more.

All of these apps allow you to hide content from spyware, even if they gain access to an unlocked phone or tablet.

Hide photos and videos in the Photos app

If you want to restrict an app's access to your photo library, you can do it without additional software. Unfortunately, this is not a very secure way.
