How to not be seen on whatsapp

How to Hide Your Online Status in WhatsApp

Want to restore some privacy to your instant messaging? Here's how to hide your online status in WhatsApp.

It's hard to look back and remember a time when the world operated on SMS. Services like WhatsApp have made chatting with your friends and family easier than ever.

However, that ease of communication has come at a price. We now expect to be able to see whether the recipient is online and reading your messages at that very moment.

Unfortunately, we've all heard of arguments breaking out over whether messages were sent/received/seen/read. If you'd like to restore a bit of privacy to your instant messaging, here's how to hide your online status on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp makes it fairly straightforward to disable your online status, but there's a trade-off that we'll discuss later in the article.

For now, to hide your WhatsApp online status, follow the steps below:

  1. Open WhatsApp.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Tap on Settings.
  4. From the Settings menu, select Account.
  5. Next, tap on Privacy.
  6. Choose Last Seen from the list of options.
  7. In the pop-up window, choose Nobody.

So, what about that trade-off? Disabling your online status means you will not be able to see other people's online status either. It prevents people from snooping on other users while simultaneously masking their actions.

Sadly, there's also no way to set the visibility of your online status on a user-by-user basis. For example, it's impossible to let your family and friends know that you're online while stopping your boss from seeing the same information. The only way you can do that is to block them on WhatsApp, but you won't be able to contact each other.

Other WhatsApp Privacy Options to Change

While you're in the Privacy menu, it's worth paying attention to a couple of the other available WhatsApp privacy options.

You can restrict the visibility of your profile photo, about page, and status. The final setting is to disable read receipts. Like your online status, disabling read receipts is reciprocal. Disabling yours means that you won't be able to see receipts from other people.

Keeping Your Online Privacy

It's possible to hide your status on WhatsApp, but by doing so, the app will hide the status of your contacts from you as well. While this might be an inconvenience, it's well worth the price for those who want some control over how and when people can see them online.

How to Hide Your Online Status on WhatsApp

  • You can hide online status on WhatsApp — known as Last Seen — in your Privacy settings.
  • Choose whether only your contacts or nobody should see your Last Seen status.
  • You can also choose to exclude certain people from seeing your Last Seen status.

If you use WhatsApp regularly, chances are you've spotted the login status next to the name of some of your contacts.

Though WhatsApp makes your online status visible to everyone by default, you can easily change it.

WhatsApp online status

WhatsApp online status allows users to see the last time their contacts were active on the platform and whether they are currently using the app.

When someone is online, it doesn't necessarily mean they've seen your message — it simply means they're currently using the app.

Last Seen refers to the last time the person used WhatsApp and also doesn't mean that they have seen your most recent message. The only way to tell if someone has seen your message is the blue check marks beside the message.

If you don't want your WhatsApp contacts to know your Last Seen or online status, you can easily hide your status from everyone, make it available to only your contacts, or exclude certain contacts from seeing it through the app's settings.

Note: When you hide your own WhatsApp online status, you also can't view other people's statuses.

The steps to hide your Last Seen or online status on Whatsapp are simple:

1. Open WhatsApp on your phone and head to the settings.

2. Open the account settings, and then head to the privacy settings.

3. Go to the Last Seen settings.

4. Tap either My Contacts, My Contacts Except, or Nobody to choose how you want to hide your Last Seen status.

Here's the full guide on how to hide your online status on WhatsApp.

6. You have two options to hide your online or Last Seen status — you can choose for only My Contacts to see your status or for Nobody to see your status.

You can also choose My Contacts Except and select people from your contacts list who you don't want to see your "Last Seen" status. Then, tap Done in the top right corner on iPhone or the check mark in the bottom right corner on Android.

Note: While hiding your Last Seen means people won't be able to see when you were last online, it will still show them when you're currently online.

7. Once you've made a selection, your online or Last Seen status will be visible to just your contacts, no one at all, or the contacts you didn't exclude, depending on your selection.

How to reply to a WhatsApp message without appearing on the Internet

Each of us has had to hide our presence on the World Wide Web from time to time. Maybe a person is too busy to answer annoying calls, or simply does not want to waste time on pointless lengthy correspondence. But if at the same time there is a need to urgently respond to an important message, an awkward situation can arise when the rest of the users from the contact list, whom the person decided to ignore, will be offended by his silence when they see that he is online.

The reasons for the desire to remain unnoticed can be very diverse, but be that as it may, the WhatsApp messenger provides several ways to do something like this at once.

So how do you reply to a WhatsApp message without appearing online?

  • Reply from notification panel
  • Reply offline
  • How to turn on incognito mode for WhatsApp
  • Conclusions and tips

devices through the notification bar. This feature is available in both the iOS operating system and the Android operating system.

On iOS devices:

  • You need to swipe on a WhatsApp message that needs a response right from the notification bar.
  • Press the Reply button.
  • The next screen will display a field for entering a message.
  • Press the "Submit" button.

The message went away, but the sender was not detected.

Android devices:

  • Click the arrow next to the WhatsApp message you want to reply to.
  • Then click on the "Reply" button.
  • If prompted for a password, enter it.
  • The next screen will display a field for entering a message with a "Submit" button.

A message sent in this way will also keep the sender's presence on the network secret.

For the iOS operating system:

In order to reply to a WhatsApp message on a smartphone or tablet with the iOS operating system while working offline, you must strictly adhere to the following procedure:

  • Turn off WI-FI and mobile data in the Settings panel.
  • Open the desired chat in the WhatsApp messenger.
  • Type a message and click the "Send" button.
  • Close WhatsApp.
  • Go back to "Settings" and turn WI-FI and mobile data to the "On" position.

As soon as the Internet connection is restored, the message will be sent to the recipient, and the rest of the contacts will not suspect anything.

For the Android operating system:

For mobile devices running the Android operating system, the procedure is as follows:

  • In the Settings panel, open the WI-FI item.
  • Turn off WI-FI.
  • Similarly, turn off mobile data.
  • Open the necessary chat in the WhatsApp messenger.
  • Write a message and click the "Send" button.
  • Be sure to close the WhatsApp messenger.
  • Return WI-FI and mobile data to the "On" position.

The Internet will turn on, the message will be sent to the recipient. Again, no one will notice.

In addition to the features described above, the WhatsApp messenger allows you to read received messages, monitor activity in all chats, while remaining invisible using the "incognito" mode.

The official version of the WhatsApp application has a stealth feature without the need for any third-party applications. To activate it, you need to follow a few simple steps:

  • Click on the three dots available on the left side of the top bar.
  • Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
  • Select the "Account" line.
  • Go to "Privacy" (in another version "Confidentiality").
  • Select "Time of visit/Stay" from the opened options.
  • Select "Nobody" from the three available options.

After performing these manipulations, neither users from the contact list, nor anyone else will be able to track the last activity of someone who does not want to be noticed. True, there is a certain drawback in this mode - by hiding his last visit, the user will lose the ability to track the time of the last visit by other users.

So, if a user wants to remain unnoticed in WhatsApp, and at the same time respond to messages that are important to him, there are several ways to do this at once. You can use the notification panel on the lock screen of your mobile device. If this method is not suitable for some reason, it is possible to send messages after disconnecting the Internet connection. Or use the invisibility feature, also known as incognito mode.

How to read WhatsApp messages incognito

Most recently, we discussed with you the intricacies of using the very popular WhatsApp messenger, but today I would like to take a closer look at one not the most obvious function. WhatsApp by default "tells" the sender whether you have read the message. And some users don't like it. Now we will tell you how to bypass this limitation and read your WhatsApp messages in secret from everyone.

It is worth noting that in fact, in order to read messages in incognito mode, there are several ways at once.

Content

  • 1 Disable WhatsApp delivery report
  • 2 Enable toast notifications on the lock screen
  • 3 Use high-severity notifications for WhatsApp messages
  • 4 Read WhatsApp messages in the notification bar
  • 5 Read WhatsApp messages in the widget Android

Disable WhatsApp delivery report

This is probably the easiest way. The catch here is that it works both ways: if you don't let others know when you've read their messages, then you won't be able to see when they've read yours. Everything is fair.

  • Launch WhatsApp and tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen
  • Enter Settings
  • Select your account
  • Go to Privacy disable this feature.

Enable pop-up notifications on lock screen

You can also view pop-up WhatsApp message notifications on the lock screen. And if the messages are short, then you don’t even have to open anything. You can read them in the preview window.

  • Launch WhatsApp and tap the three dots at the top right corner of the screen
  • Enter the Settings menu
  • Select Notifications
  • Select Pop-up notifications
  • Select the option "Only when the screen is off"
  • 90581 901 high priority for WhatsApp messages

Like the toast notifications on the lock screen, high priority notifications allow you to read a WhatsApp message without being noticed.

    • Launch WhatsApp and tap the three dots at the top right corner of the screen
    • Enter Settings
    • Select Notifications
    • Turn on the switch next to Use high priority notifications.

Read WhatsApp messages in the notification bar

Using an Android smartphone, you will be notified of new WhatsApp messages located in the notification bar at the top of the screen. Instead of tapping on them to open the app, swipe down to read the message. Your message will not be marked as read.

Read WhatsApp messages in an Android widget

Almost all Android phones support widgets. If WhatsApp messenger is installed on your smartphone, then you will also find the WhatsApp screen widget in a special repository.
Touch and hold a WhatsApp widget to drag it to the home screen. Any incoming WhatsApp messages will be visible in this widget without having to launch the app and open them. And that means without options that your presence will be noticed.

How to uninstall an app update on Android and why you need it

The average Android user installs dozens of apps on their smartphone. Each program is regularly updated through Google Play and often does it automatically. Therefore, your device always has the latest version of the program, and sometimes it even refuses to work without an update. At the same time, sometimes it is required not to update, but to roll back the application. At first it may seem that this is a completely unnecessary and useless undertaking.
