How to turn your photos into WhatsApp Stickers
Facebook-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp recently added a new feature called Stickers that allows users to send stickers other than the already existing GIFs and emojis. The feature is available both on Android and Apple iOS devices. While for Android smartphone users, there are some default WhatsApp sticker packs, they can also download third-party sticker packs directly from Google Play. Not just this, WhatsApp users on Android can also create their own custom stickers, including the ones with their own photos. Wondering how, here’s our easy-to-use guide. Before we get on to the guide, please note that there are two main steps: First, create an image with no background; and second, adding it to WhatsApp Stickers.
219
Make sure you have WhatsApp version 2.18 or above running on your smartphone.
319
Click your photos with the expressions you want
419
Convert these photos into PNG file format with no background
519
For this, open Google Play Store and download any background eraser app
619
Select the photo you want to convert them into Stickers
719
Erase the background using the Auto, Magic or Manual tool
819
Crop the image to make it look like Stickers
919
Save the image in PNG format (as WhatsApp only supports PNG format for Stickers)
1019
Once done, you will get your 'personalised stickers' as per your photo
1119
Create a minimum of three such 'personalised stickers'.
As WhatsApp does not allow users to add Sticker packs with less than three images in them1219
Now, go to Google Play Store and download ‘Personal Stickers for WhatsApp’ app and open it
1319
The ‘Personal Stickers for WhatsApp’ app will automatically detect all the 'personalised stickers' that you have created
1419
Tap on the ‘Add’ button located next to these 'personalised stickers'
1519
Again tap on ‘Add’ option when asked
1619
Once done, open the chat window on WhatsApp and click on the smiley icon
1719
Tap on the stickers icon, placed next to GIF icon
1819
Now, just tap on your 'photo sticker' and send
1919
Also remember that the 'personalised stickers' created will stay in your 'sticker bank'. You need not repeat some steps when you create your new 'personalised stickers' next time.

How to create your own WhatsApp stickers
Denis Cherkashin —
At the end of October, the WhatsApp developers added the long-awaited support for stickers to the messenger applications. Until today, only pre-installed sets were available to users, and now everyone can create their own stickers directly on their smartphone.
Google Play now has a free Sticker Studio app that allows you to turn any picture or photo into stickers that you can add to your own WhatsApp pack. Users can upload up to 10 sticker packs with 30 images each. The app is currently only available for Android, but will also be available for iOS devices at a later date.
In order to make a sticker yourself, you need to select the outline of a person or object in a photo uploaded to Sticker Studio. The resulting image will automatically be added to the set, from where it can be easily inserted into the chat.

How to make your own stickers from your photos in WhatsApp
In order to make WhatsApp stickers with your photos, you need to follow a set of guidelines that the people responsible for the application already clearly explain on their official website:
- Each sticker is an image with a transparent background.
- Stickers must be the exact size of 512 x 512 pixels.
- The size of each sticker must not exceed 100 KB.
To meet all these requirements, we will use the app called Sticker.ly, which will help us automate most of the process.

When we open it, the first thing we see is this:
Sticker.ly homepage
In this case, we're not interested in using any of the previously created galleries, so we'll click the cross button at the bottom of the screen:
Button for creating a sticker
A gallery will open in which we will have to select an album in which we will look for photos to create stickers:
Select the album and photo we are going to use
Next, look for the desired photo and click on it. The next step is to cut out the background to create the sticker itself, and Sticker.ly will do it for us if we click on Auto :

This is how the cropping of the photo will look like:

Using the controls at the bottom of the screen, we can complete the customization of the thumbnail or add text to the sticker if we deem it necessary.
