The more people you follow on Instagram the more posts you will see on your Instagram Feed. So, in case you are following over a thousand people on Instagram, you are probably going through hundreds of different photos every day.

Although this can make your Instagramming more interesting, it can easily backfire on you as you will most likely miss a couple of posts from your best friends.

Well, we have some good news. You can do just that, and here is how.

Setting Up an Auto-Liking Instagram Bot

Before we begin, you need to know that this tutorial involves third party downloads. The reason for that lies in the fact that Instagram doesn’t have the auto-like feature available. From the looks of it, they won’t include this feature in the near future.

So, if you don’t trust unofficial third-party downloads, you should skip to the alternative method, explained in the next section.

NOTE: The following method could be hard to understand if you aren’t familiar with Github and manual installations which don’t have a clear user-interface.

With that out of the way, let’s start with the first method.

Basically, we will be setting up an auto-liking bot which you can use for liking pictures as soon as they are posted. The bot is essentially a program you will install on your computer.

This program is created by gulzar1996 and you can download it for free on Github.

But how does this auto-like Instagram bot actually work?

The program is based on scripts that run the Instagram API every 15 minutes. The Instagram API checks for new posts from users that you have specified. In essence, the program will refresh your Instagram Feed every 15 minutes, scan through it, and look for specific user IDs. Once it finds a match, it will automatically like the post.

To make sure that you know which posts are liked, the program will notify you on Slack, so you must also have a Slack account.

Here is what you need to do in order to set everything up:

  1. Git clone the gulzar1996’s program to your computer.
  2. Install npm (Node Package Manager).
  3. Create a .env file.
  4. Set up the accessToken, user_id (the profile that you want to use this program on), and your slack URL.

You should enter your configured Slack channel in the Slack URL field. That’s where you will be getting notifications from the app.

After you have done that, run the app by starting the npm, and your job is done.

The Alternative Method

If you aren’t that good with these sort of installations or just don’t trust them, you can try out the alternative method. Although this method doesn’t automatically like Instagram posts, you can use it to get notified when your friend has posted something. That way, you will never miss your friend’s pictures or videos, and you’ll be able to like them as soon as they get posted.

To do this, we will be using Instagram’s built-in feature, so no downloads are required. Here is what you need to do:

  1. Open your Instagram app.
  2. Navigate to your friend’s profile.
  3. Tap on the three dots – located in the upper right corner of your screen.
  4. Tap on Manage Notifications.

Once you’ve done that, you will be presented with the options you can set up for this specific Instagram user. In this case, you should enable the Posts option by tapping on it.

If you want to also get notified when that specific Instagram user posts an Instagram Story, you should enable the Story option as well.

To get absolutely all notifications from this user, tap on Get All Notifications.

So, once you’ve done that, you will get notified whenever that Instagram user posts something. Click on this notification and you will be taken to your friend’s newest post.

The answer is yes, of course. If you’re on Instagram, likes matter as much as ever.

In case you missed it: in mid-2019, Instagram started experimenting with not showing the number of likes a post has received (a.k.a. ‘like counts’) in the feeds of certain regions.

According to Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, the move was part of the company’s efforts to protect the mental health of the platform’s community. The idea was to make the whole experience healthier and less competitive for users. Instagram explained: “We want your friends to focus on the photos and videos you share, not how many likes they get.”

Instagram doesn’t show posts chronologically, but its algorithm does favor “recency.” This means that if you want to get in front of eyeballs, it’s important for you to know when your audience is actually looking at the app.

On Instagram, it's easy to accidentally like something by double-tapping on a photo. And every like that you didn’t want to put is stress. In order not to be afraid to put a “technical” like with a double tap, open the account you need, wait for the photos to load and put your phone into airplane mode. Photos can be opened and tapped on as much as you like, but you can’t accidentally like without access to the network. Hello ex tape!

2. Hide, delete or make invisible comments on your posts

The Instagram page is your home. Or even worse, the representation of your brand on the network. Therefore, urgently engage in moderating comments. To filter comments by keywords, go to the settings, open the "Comments" tab and enter stop words manually.

By the way: to delete a comment, just swipe it to the left and click on the icon. And to completely turn off comments for a particular post, when creating a new post, go to the advanced settings menu and turn off comments using the slider.

3. Clear your browsing history

Yes, even on Instagram it can be useful to clean up the story. Go to your profile settings, select "Security", then "Search history" and then "Clear everything".

4. Change the order of filters in edit mode and hide unnecessary ones

Highly-liked, you have a few favorite Instagram filters, and some you never use. To make photo editing easier, you can rearrange the filters in the edit window and hide the ones you never use.

To do this, start editing a new post. When you get to the filters page, scroll the filter selection all the way to the right and find the "Manage" button. And there you can tick the filters you need and drag them to the top.

5. Sell with Shoppable Posts

You can tag in posts not only people, but also products that you sell. To do this, you need to create an Instagram business account. Go to the "Account" section of your page settings and select "Switch to business account". You can also make an author account there, this is a slightly different story.

Next, link your Facebook business page to your Insta business account. You must have it, and you must first create a product catalog in the Facebook business manager and set up the Shop theme from templates. Also, you must have the "Shop" menu option active.

In general, if you already have a store on Facebook, connecting it to an Instagram business account and tagging your physical goods (not services or information products) in posts is not difficult.

6. Pin Instagram posts to Pinterest

Instagram is having a hard time integrating posts into other social networks. Except for Facebook, of course. There is an option to "pin" your Pinterest posts. Tap on the post on Instagram and click on the menu (three dots) in the upper right corner, then click "Copy Link".

Now open Pinterest and it will prompt you to paste the image from the clipboard. And if it doesn’t offer, then click on the plus sign in the upper right corner and there you will see the insert option.

7. Add another account to your bio

If you have nothing less than an umbrella brand on Instagram, you can add links to other accounts. Here is an example link in the Hubspot bio:

8. Use Instagram as a photo editor without posting

Many people love Instagram filters and easy editing, but do not want to post any photos in public. And don't: edit the image by putting your smartphone in airplane mode. Important: the "Keep original publications" option must be active in your settings. It is located here: Settings - "Account" - "Original publications".

Now take or upload a photo, play with the filters and editor, and hit Share. An inscription will appear stating that the photo will be published automatically when connected to the network. Reset the publication, and take the edited Instagram-style photo in the folder with images on your smartphone.

9. Two filters for the price of one

Open the photo on Instagram, apply a filter. Want to add another filter, but the application won't let you? We use the power of airplane mode again. Turn it on, post a photo, get a no network error, pull the photo out of your saved images folder, apply the new filter, and post. Don't forget to turn off airplane mode.
