In addition to various cheaper or organic methods, all sizes profiles utilize the potential of Instagram promotions to reach their goals from time to time. For our two cents on the issue, check out our blog – Are Instagram Ads Worth It.

In this blog, however, we’re not going to talk about whether or not you should run a promotion on Instagram but rather how to delete one once it’s already on. The reasons for this can vary – you can either decide to adjust some details and edit the ad, or you may want to delete the promotion entirely. Here are our 6 simple steps on how to do it.

  2. Select Current
  3. Find the promotion you want to delete, and tap View Insights
  4. Scroll down until you see the Delete or Pause Button

This problem only occurs when there is a Facebook Business Page linked to your professional Instagram account and you do not have admin privileges.

To correct this, either request admin status from the owner of the Facebook Page, or sign in to Facebook and give your account Admin permissions.

3. Your ad has been rejected

Solution: Check your email for a notification from Meta and follow the provided instructions

If your ad or promoted post is rejected, Meta will almost immediately notify you which of Instagram’s Advertising Standards your content is not complying with.

Once you know the problem, simply edit your post or Reel to correct the issue. Then, republish it.

Keep in mind that your content will go through the approval process again before being published.

Alternatively, you can also request an additional manual review of your post if you think it has been rejected in error. Here’s how to do it:

Step 1: Visit Meta’s Account Quality center and select your account. Here you’ll see a dashboard overview of your account and any rejected, under-review, reversed and/or unchanged ads.

Step 2: Select your rejected ad, ad sets, or ad campaigns.

Step 3: Click Request review, then click Submit.

Keep in mind that these manual reviews can take some time, but you can check on the progress of your review in the Account Quality center.

4. Your account hasn’t existed for 30 days

Solution: Wait until the 30-day minimum has been reached

There’s no way around this one. Instagram, like most social media platforms, places restrictions on brand-new accounts to discourage account spamming and other malicious activities.

Solution: Remove the copyrighted material from your promoted post

If Instagram has detected copyrighted material in your content, you won’t be allowed to boost it.

Usually, music is the culprit, but any copyrighted material will need to be removed to resolve this issue.

If you have started advertising on Instagram, you can disable it at any time. This is easy to do, knowing step by step what actions you need to take.

When to stop promoting content

You can stop advertising if you decide to allocate your marketing budget differently. But there are also situations in which you will be forced to quickly take action and turn off the promotion. These include:
1. Violation of Instagram rules. If you notice that the ad contains prohibited materials, it is better to immediately cancel the placement. Instagram will most likely do this for you. But a few of these cases can lead to a shadowban or profile block. Prohibited materials include scenes of violence, promotion of an unhealthy lifestyle, pornography, insults and slander.

Remember: Phrases like “You are without money and risk remaining in poverty” can also be regarded by a social network as an insult. If the promotional material contains a photo of a baby in a diaper or a man with a naked torso, the application will not miss it. The chest should be closed for everyone, regardless of age and gender. nine0023

2. Use of other people's materials. You cannot overlay music of many popular artists on the video, this is a violation of copyright. You can use remixes or look for allowed tracks. Other people's photo and video content is also prohibited. Please be aware that copyright infringement can result in litigation.

Tip: If you're getting pictures from the Internet, use free stock images.

3. An error has been made in the publication. Any branded content must be free of errors, as this may negatively affect the image of the entire company. Any omissions or inaccuracies must be corrected promptly.

If you launch a post and don't get a response from the audience, you should remove it and use other content for promotional purposes.

Advice: There are times when the promotional activity is zero. This may be a system error. Try uninstalling the Instagram app from your device and reinstalling it. nine0023

3 steps to disable promotion through the Instagram app

If you only have a mobile phone at hand, you can disable ads in the app itself:
1. Find the desired publication.
2. Click View Promotion under the selected content.
3. There will be a trash can icon in the upper right corner. By clicking on it, you will disable the publication.

This method will result in complete removal of the material. If you just want to temporarily pause impressions, use the methods below. nine0003

Please note! If the balance for advertising payments is replenished automatically, it will not be possible to completely pause impressions through the "Account Overview". In this case, use the shutdown using "Billing".
