There’s no shortage of on-demand video streaming services today. From Netflix, to Hulu, to Amazon Prime — there are so many alternatives to cable out there, it’s becoming difficult to pick just one. If you’re on Facebook a lot, you might not need to make the choice, since the site has its own streaming platform called Facebook Watch.
Facebook Watch is a free video-on-demand service that Facebook users can use for streaming premium content, as well as sharing their own videos with the community. Facebook Watch also allows you to throw virtual parties with your Facebook friends.

Facebook Watch is a streaming service integrated with Facebook, like Messenger or Marketplace. It exists separately from your News Feed, however, you can access it through the main Facebook site.
Facebook Watch is free to use and is available on both the mobile app and the Facebook website. You won’t find a lot of network material on Facebook Watch. Instead, you can expect a lot of user-generated content mixed with the professional content produced specifically for Facebook, including original drama and comedy series, talk shows, and lots of fiction works.
One downside of the service being free is the abundance of ads. If the creator of the video you’re watching has monetized it, you’ll have to sit through a few commercial breaks during the video.
The only requirement that Facebook Watch has is that you need a Facebook account to use Facebook Watch. You don’t need to download or install any additional apps, as all Facebook Watch content can be accessed through the main Facebook’s site.
To start streaming content on Facebook Watch, follow the steps below.
Facebook Watch is organized like YouTube. There aren’t any channels, but instead there are different content creators who have their own pages with videos on Facebook Watch. Facebook Watch also has a number of its own Originals and series — each of them will also have a dedicated page with the description of the show, users ratings, and episodes.
Here’s how you can navigate Facebook Watch and find the content to stream.
The easiest way to find a video on Facebook Watch is by using the search bar. You can find it in the upper-left corner of the Facebook Watch main page.
Type the name of a video or a show you’re looking for into the search bar and see if it’s on Facebook Watch.
If you don’t have the name of a specific show or a video you want to watch, you can just scroll through the Facebook Watch Top Picks. They’re videos chosen for you by Facebook based on your interests, hobbies, videos you’ve watched on Facebook in the past, and your location.
Depending on what type of video content you’re looking for, you can use the Facebook Watch menu to find it. In the upper-left corner of your screen, you can select to search for Shows, or Live streams of sports games.
You can also find a section with Gaming videos on Facebook Watch. It’s similar to live streams on Twitch or YouTube gaming. To find live game streams or pre-recorded game videos, select Gaming from the Facebook’s menu on top of the screen.
Facebook Watch allows you to save your favourite video content to your Watchlist where you can access it later. When you select your Watchlist for the first time, you’ll see that you already have all the pages you follow listed there. You can add and remove them from your Watchlist any time.
If you want to add a video or a show to your Watchlist, select Follow or Save Video on the video’s page. The video will then appear in your Saved videos and Latest videos lists, so you can quickly access it next time.
Hosting a Facebook Watch party is a great way to watch your favorite videos with friends when you can’t physically be in the same place. Thanks to the Facebook Watch party feature, you can sync your videos and watch them at the same time, while also discussing it using the Facebook Watch party chat in real time.
You can start a Facebook Watch party from your timeline, in a group that you’re a member of, or on a page that you’re managing. To host a Facebook Watch party, follow the path Create post > More > Watch Party. Then add videos to the queue and you’re all set to start.
Any Facebook user can upload videos to Facebook. However, if you want your video to show up on Facebook Watch, you’ll need to upload them using a Facebook Page and not your personal account.
Even if you post your videos from a Facebook Page, there’s no guarantee they’ll show up on Facebook Watch. All you can do is try to make sure your content looks professional, has a certain message for the audience, and that you’re consistent with your content production. The more videos you post, the more followers your page will have, and it will boost the likelihood of your content on Facebook Watch.
While Facebook Watch might seem like a mixed bag, it’s still worth checking out since the service’s completely free. There are quite a few privacy settings for your page hidden in different tabs on Facebook. Let's talk about the main thing.
Who can see my content? There are three interesting settings here.
1. Who can see your posts in the future? This option allows you to specify who can view your posts: your friends, friends of friends, all Internet users, or some specific people. The specification "in the future" means that these changes will not affect already published posts - only new ones. It is worth noting that there is a separate button for quick access to this setting: you will find it under the window for creating a new post, to the left of the "Submit" button.

Review all your publications and those objects in which you are marked . By clicking on this link, you will be taken to the "Action Log". If you liked something, left a message under a friend's post or tagged someone in the photo, then this data will go to the "Journal" page. 3. Restrict audience for all posts on my timeline . This setting allows you to hide old posts from your friends' friends or from all Internet users in general. Remember, you can change the permissions for individual posts at any time by simply selecting "Edit Post", then clicking the button to the left of "Save" and selecting the audience from the drop-down list.
Who can contact me? This setting allows you to choose who can ask you to be friends: all or only friends of your friends.
Who can find me? You can search for people on Facebook by phone number or email address. Here you can allow or block social networks from showing your account to users who try to find you using these contact details.
Also here you can hide your Facebook account from the search results of Google, Yandex and other search engines.
Who can post on my timeline?
Who can post to your timeline? This setting allows you to control who can post on your page: just you or your friends as well. The first (and often only) thing people use this feature for is to post birthday greetings. But if you have strangers as friends, we recommend that you restrict access to your timeline.
Submit tags made by friends before they are posted to your timeline? Turn on this option so that nothing gets into your timeline.
Then all posts in which you have been tagged will automatically be sent for consideration to "Chronicle Review" . Never heard of this page? Not surprisingly, many do not know about it at all, although they visit it regularly. Users go here by clicking on the alert icon, a red number that appears on the globe icon.
You can activate this option either in the Timeline Overview (upper right corner, Notifications button) or in the Timeline and Tags settings.
Remember, this setting only affects posts on your timeline. Posts you're tagged in will still be available in search results, the news feed, and other places on Facebook.
Who can see posts on my timeline?

Who can see what others post on your timeline? In the previous paragraph, you were prompted to set access rights to posts in which you were tagged. Here you can also choose the privacy settings for the posts that your friends have published on your page - the same birthday greetings (not tags).
How can I manage other user's tag settings and tag recommendations?
Check tags people add to your own posts before they appear on Facebook? Sometimes friends tag people in your photos that aren't actually in them, or people you don't want to tag.
For example, this way you can attract the attention of a person who is personally unpleasant to you to your post. By activating this option, you will check other people's tags on your posts before they become visible to all other users of the social network, including the person tagged in the post.
When you are tagged in a post, who can see it other than the people it's already open to? When you are tagged in a post, you can add it to your timeline or hide it. But even if you hide a post, it will still be available on the page of the person who created it, as well as in the news feed, in search results for mutual friends, and in some other places. If you want to hide such posts from everyone, select the "Only Me" setting.
Who sees tag recommendations when photos of people like you are uploaded? Facebook uses its facial recognition system to guess who is in a photo. When users upload photos of their friends, the social network invites them to tag these people in the pictures.
With this setting, you can prevent Facebook from doing this.

Limited list. This is another way to separate publications into private and public. By adding a friend here, you hide posts that are available to the Friends audience from him. They will still be able to see your posts set to Public, your posts on a Mutual Friends Timeline, or the photos you tagged them in. Facebook doesn't let friends know that they've been added to the Restricted list. More about this option here.
Block users. If you want to end all contact with someone, block them. They will then no longer be able to see content posted to your timeline, tag you, invite you to events or groups, write to you, or send you friend requests.
Block pages. The same can be done with a page owned by a shop, newspaper, or other organization. If you block such an account, the store will not be able to write to you.
However, you won't be able to interact with him either - make posts on his timeline or send him messages. If you liked this page before, then after blocking the "Like" mark will be deleted, and you will unsubscribe from all updates.

You can subscribe to my updates. Here you can allow other people to subscribe to your publications. Then your posts will get into their news feed.
Public Posting Comments, Public Posting Notices, and Public Profile Information.
Here you can choose who can comment on your public photos and posts, and decide whether you want to be notified when people outside your friends list subscribe to your updates, share, comment on or like your public posts .
Facebook collects data about what you like, what you do on the social network, on which sites you log in with it. It uses all this information to show you ads.
If you don't like the fact that the social network is following you, forbid it from using the collected data to display ads.
The more options you have for collecting contacts, the better. Subscription forms rank first among customer acquisition channels and it's good to have more than one. If you have a Facebook community, you can also use it to attract new customers by adding a separate tab with a call to subscribe (see how this is implemented).
