Instagram's Groups Feature For Accounts You Follow Helps You Understand Your Feed

Instagram is rolling out a new feature that is about to give you some insight into your Feed. You can stop wondering why some accounts show up all the time while others seem to never pop up when you check out Instagram's new groups feature for accounts you follow. Yo might not be able to do too much once you see which accounts show up more often than others, but you can get a better understanding about what's going on in your Feed.
The groups feature in the "Following" list began rolling out on Thursday, Feb. 6. This update now shows you two groups of accounts you follow: "Most Shown in Feed" and "Least Interacted With." Not all of the accounts you follow will be listed in each group, but it's meant to show you which accounts are getting the most and least face time, respectively. If you don't see it yet, make sure your Instagram app is up to date, and if that doesn't work, you can always try deleting and reinstalling the app entirely.
To find the new groups feature, follow these steps:
- Go to your profile on Instagram.
- Tap on Following.
- From there, you should see the two groups: Least Interacted With and Most Shown in Feed.
Once you see the groups, you can select a list to see which accounts are in it. The Most Shown in Feed group will show you the accounts with the most posts appearing in your Feed from the past 90 days. The Least Interacted With list will display accounts that you've rarely liked or reacted to in the last 90 days.
There's no way to change who shows up in your Most Shown list besides muting or fully unfollowing the account. You can mute an account directly in your Most Shown list by tapping on the three dots next to the account name and choosing "Mute," which means their posts will no longer show up in your Feed but you'll still follow them. You can also manage what notifications you get from that account right in the Most Shown list. TBH, my Most Shown in Feed list didn't seem to jive with the accounts I usually see, but they are apparently the accounts with the most posts in my Feed over the past three months. The Least Interacted With group offers the same options as the Most Shown group, so if you find an account you haven't seen in a while, you could set up notifications to receive an alert whenever they post something new.
Courtesy of InstagramYou can also change way you view your Following list by choosing to see the accounts you followed most recently first or by choosing to see the accounts you first followed when you joined the app at the top. It won't change the way accounts appear in your Feed; it will just organize all the accounts you follow by "Date Followed: Latest" or "Date Followed: Earliest." To play around with it, you can go to "Sort by" under the Following tab.
None of these new features will let you change the way posts show up in your Feed — unless you mute any accounts — but you can have better insight as to which accounts get the most action on your Feed.
How To Find Groups on Instagram
Do you want to grow your Instagram following or need more engagement on your posts? Well, Instagram groups may just be the solution you need. Members of these groups like, comment, and engage with each other’s content to give it more exposure, and you can join the fun too.
The Instagram algorithm favors high interaction, and we’ve seen how big influencing accounts gain traction on the slightest of activity while small businesses, artists, content creators, and other regular folks can’t get their content in front of anyone, despite the effort. So Instagramers have found the solution to this in Instagram groups or pods.
We will be discussing what Instagram groups are, how to find and join them, and how to use them to your advantage.

What are Instagram Groups?
Instagram groups are communities where users band together to help each other with their activities on Instagram. Everyone in the group interacts with each other’s content, likes it, leaves comments, and shares it. This way, when you post something on Instagram, you get a bunch of activity on your post, which tells the algorithm that your content is good and should be shown to more people.
But these groups aren’t like Facebook groups, where members share content in a common feed that everyone can see. Instead, Instagram groups are moderated from other social media platforms like Facebook and Telegram or even through a single user’s DMs called pods.
These groups can be private or public and often have certain guidelines. Some groups are only for certain niches, while others are for a general engagement. Many of these groups work on specific posting times. There are also paid groups with strict moderators who make sure everyone follows the rules.
How to Join Instagram Groups?
The most important part is finding and joining the right group for you. While some of these groups are exclusive and you need an invitation to join, others may be more open.
A simple Google search of “Instagram Engagement Groups” should give you a decent list to start with. But here, we have four more methods to help you find Instagram groups.
Method #1: Use Hashtags
This is the most basic method, just go to the search bar on Instagram and look for relevant hashtags like:
- #engagementgroup
- #like4like
- #follow4follow
- #InstaPods
Or any other hashtag relevant to the kind of group you’re looking for. You can further filter these results by using niche-specific hashtags like:
- #MompreneurPod
- #TravelCommunityPods etc.
Method #2: Check Facebook Groups
Facebook is a powerful social media platform and is home to many communities of Instagram users. Do a quick search on Facebook for Instagram engagement or marketing groups, and you’ll find tons of results.
These communities are usually organized through Telegram or Whatsapp, so you can find invitation links for those groups as well.
There are many big marketing groups on FB, but if you want some real action, look for smaller and more niche-specific groups. They vet their members more carefully and ensure everyone is active, so you’re likely to get more out of these groups.
Method #3: Look on Reddit
Reddit is another great platform for finding groups, especially if you’re looking for something more specific. There are dedicated “subreddits” for just about everything these days, so you’re sure to find one relevant to your interests.
A popular one is IGPods, a subreddit for people looking for members to join their Instagram pods. So you can join their pod or post about starting your own.
Method #4: Ask around
Once you’ve built up a good relationship with some like-minded Instagrammers in your niche, you can ask them if they know of any groups you can join. These recommendations usually come with a personal vouch, so you know the group will be a good fit for you.
Conclusion
Joining the right Instagram group can do wonders for your engagement and jumpstart your growth. But you need to be active and follow the rules, or you’ll be kicked out and banned from the group. So take your time, look for the right group for you using the methods we listed, and start reaping the benefits.
Remember that just joining a group won’t do anything; you need to be an active and contributing member if you want to get anything out of it.
Hashtag search on Instagram - how to search for posts, stories, places and people
It seems that finding anything and anyone on Instagram* is not difficult at all. But this is not always an easy task, sometimes there is not enough data to search, or the desired result is hidden among hundreds of inappropriate ones. And if you need to find a post or a person without registration at all? And how do you search by hashtags? Let's figure it out.
How Search and Recommendations Work
You need to understand what you can find using the Search function. To get to the search engine, click on the magnifying glass icon. nine0003 Popular photos and videos for the last hour will open first
To start searching, click on the line at the top of the screen. The interface will change - a white screen will appear, in the upper part of which there are 4 search categories:
- accounts - user pages;
- audio - music on Instagram* is also available, yes;
- tags - search keywords;
- places - search by locations.
If you just enter a word by which we want to search for accounts, places or something else, Instagram * will search in all categories.
There are more popular accounts in this query, hashtags are not visibleTo start the search only by hashtags, you need to insert the # symbol before the search word.
Instagram* will search for what the user enters after the pound signSearch can be used both in the mobile application and in the web version. The only difference is that in the web version there is no division into accounts, tags, and so on. To find only accounts, you need to enter @ before the search word, and to search by tags, respectively, #. nine0003 As in the mobile version, if you just enter a word, it will search in all categories. And after going to the search, you can click on the "Tags" tab. And there already search without the # sign.
Among the options will be not only the words indicated in the search, but also similar ones. This is done in case the user enters a word inaccurately or incorrectly. So the search will be more successful, and you will have more options to view. nine0003 Among the answers of Instagram* you can see those that differ from the query
By clicking on any option, a list of posts marked with this hashtag will open. For example, let's open a search for the hashtag "promotion".
We open any of the hashtags and see different posts and Reels tagged with the tagThere will be a lot of materials related to this tag. They are divided into 3 categories:
- top - the most popular posts and videos by tag;
- recent - tags that have been released within the last hour; nine0014
- Reels videos are short videos marked with a hashtag.
Top opens first. If you switch between categories, you get into recent posts or Reels. You can click on any of the posts or videos, view the content, leave a comment or like.
Please note that there are prohibited hashtags. In the search, Instagram* may write that no posts were found for this tag. If old posts remain and have not been deleted, it will show old posts. nine0003
How to search people by hashtag
Some users and business accounts try to create unique tags to make their profile stand out from the rest. With their help, you can find people through the usual search box on Instagram*.
There are no special instructions for searching for users - we search in the same way as we search for posts. Just enter a hashtag for search, preferably not the most popular one, and look for the right person in the images found. It is more convenient if the user has a unique hashtag by which he adds his posts. nine0003
How to find stories on Instagram* using the hashtag
Since 2017, users have been able to search for stories by hashtags and geolocations. For example, business owners could find out what the situation is in their cafe or other establishment right now. Stories helped people who were going on a trip to understand what kind of weather and interesting places await them. It helped bloggers to get additional coverage.
In 2021, this hashtag or geolocation search feature has been disabled, possibly permanently. This is most likely done to protect privacy. nine0073 So it’s impossible to search Stories by hashtag on Instagram* in 2021, there is simply no such function.
How to search multiple tags at once
This feature is most often searched for by newbies on Instagram*. Agree, it would be very convenient to find posts with several hashtags at once. This would narrow down the search and the number of results, helping you find the right content right away.
This feature is not yet available in 2021. Developers are in no hurry to add it to either the mobile application or the web version. nine0003
You can try to write several tags at once. Previously, Instagram* combined them into one tag and offered options in which both tags occur at the same time. Now, after entering the second hashtag, the results disappear. Instagram* doesn't search for more than one hashtag.
Instagram* allows you to search only by one word or when several words are written togetherHow to find a post on Instagram* by hashtag without registration
Can you find a post by hashtag if you do not log in from this browser? The question is of interest to many who value their anonymity or do not want to create a profile on a social network for the sake of one search. You can search without registration, but there is a nuance. Below is the instruction. nine0003
If you just open Instagram* in a browser without registration and authorization in the social network, the main page will open. From here it will not be possible to go anywhere until the user registers or logs into his account.
There is no search bar on the main page, there is simply nowhere to enter hashtagsBut you can do it in a tricky way. In the search engine, we write any Instagram user account * that definitely exists. For example, take the profile of Buzova.
Whom to look for is not important, you can even Ivan IvanovWhen you go to the person's page, what we need will open - the full version of Instagram * with a search.
A line with a suggestion to enter or register will constantly appear at the bottom. But it can be closed by clicking on the cross in the cornerThese actions can be performed both in mobile and web versions.
Bonus: the most popular hashtags in 2021
Hashtags come in different frequencies: high-frequency, mid-frequency and low-frequency. We already talked about this in the article “Top 50 hashtags on Instagram * in 2021 and how to use them.” The highest frequencies are considered popular. If you attach a high-frequency hashtag to a post, the post will appear in the general search. nine0003
In 2021, the most popular hashtags in English were:
#love | #follow | #selfie | #smile | #instadaily |
#instagood | #followme | #picoftheday | #friends | #instalike |
#me | #photooftheday | #like4like | #fun | #swag |
#cute | #happy | #instagramanet | #fashion | #amazing |
#tbt | #beautiful | #instatag | #summer | #tflers |
In Russian, you can also easily collect the top 25 hashtags with different topics:
#photo | #sky | #smile | #selfie | #beauty |
#Instagram*_Russian | #life | #moscow | #likes | #nature |
#Instagram*of the week | #night | #girls | #insta | #Instagram* |
#my love | #me | #friendship | #super | #russia |
#life is beautiful | #day | #friends | #photo | #love |
We analyzed even more popular hashtags in the articles “Popular hashtags on Instagram*: top 2021” and “80 hashtags for promotion and promotion in social networks”.
But remember that such popular hashtags can lead to a lot of inappropriate content. These tags are used by millions of people, and the hashtag does not always match what is in the photo. In addition, in the search for such hashtags, the post does not linger for a long time and goes down the feed - it is displaced by fresh, just published ones.
We have an exciting article on our blog about how to choose hashtags to make them work. There are several types of them, and they should also be used correctly. More information in the article. nine0003
And if you want your posts to be sure to catch the eye of the target audience, use the Followers Hashtags tool in Pepper.Ninja - it collects hashtags that are followed by the audience of any open Instagram * account, yours or competitors. You will only have to use the popular tags that the service will collect in your posts.
We looked at how to correctly find a post, account, place or tag using a hashtag on Instagram*. We disassembled detailed step-by-step instructions on how to do this quickly. They even found a way to search for a hashtag on Instagram* without registration and SMS. Enjoy :–)
7 ways to find bloggers for advertising on Instagram - Kristina Gromova on vc.ru
Hello readers, I decided to share the methods that I use in my practice to find advertising for bloggers. I promote blogs of experts and author blogs on Instagram, and these methods will be useful for both smm-specialists and bloggers or experts who develop their Instagram account:
1. Telegram chats
60 568 views
The most popular are Otzovik and Instalogia. They publish reviews and discuss bad bloggers. How to search in chats: enter a keyword with your account subject, for example, "psychology", and see who is there from the list:
who indicated this topic as good for him
An example of an announcement with a set for advertising
b) from bloggers who have received a good review indicating their account subject
Positive feedback example
2. Subscriptions
a) your subscriptions
Look among your own subscriptions, which of them advertises, who might be interesting as an advertising platform
b) subscriptions of your active subscribers
See who is subscribed to your active subscribers are those whom you noticed in the comments at least 2-3 times under the last posts. It is important that the comments are within the meaning of the post, expanded
c) competitor's active audience subscriptions
The same - find active commentators from a competitor or a similar account of yours, see who they follow. And also choose the most interesting platforms for advertising.
3. Instagram recommendations
When you subscribe to any account, Instagram itself shows accounts similar to them. For example, you are looking for an advertisement from a blogger with the theme of motherhood, subscribed to one such blogger - and below, as on the screen, recommendations will be shown, see them too, who could be suitable as advertising platforms. nine0003

4. Easyprbot
This is a project created to buy ads from bloggers and reviews.
It is in two forms, the first is a bot in Telegram.
How to go to filter in easyprbot
How to set a filter to search for bloggers in bot
The second version of the bot is the easyprbot.com platform, where you can leave and view reviews, select bloggers by filter. For example, you can find bloggers from whom there were large incomes, from whom cheap subscribers come out, or those who have gone well with your topic. nine0003
Service functionality easyprbot.com
Reviews from this platform are duplicated in the "Instalogy" chat.
An example of a review in Instalogia from easyprbot.com
You do not need to additionally double-check reviews from easyprbot. com, they are checked by moderators when they are published.
5. Hashtags
Choose thematic hashtags and see who is in the top for these hashtags. Analyze how interesting these bloggers can be as an advertising platform. Choose hashtags with a frequency of 10,000 to 300,000, again, depending on the subject of the blog. Competitors can be shown in hashtag expert blogs, they can also be considered as an advertising platform or, for example, mutual PR (when bloggers talk about each other by agreement and similar statistics on audience and reach). nine0003

6. Reviews of competitors in chats
In the "Otzovik" or "Instalogia" chats, find competitors or similar profiles and analyze who they or their managers left reviews for, which blogger had good income in terms of the number of subscribers, which they praise bloggers and thank them for their cooperation. Pay attention to the screenshots attached by them from advertisements - sometimes you can see their advertising material there, and understand what materials they used on these sites.
