Save Instagram videos and photos to iPhone Camera Roll using Shortcuts

Before You Begin: Open the Settings app on your iPhone → Shortcuts → and enable Allow Untrusted Shortcuts.

  1. Get Instagram Media shortcut by clicking on this link. Next, scroll down and tap on Add Untrusted Shortcut.

  2. Open the Instagram app on your iPhone and go to the post you wish to download.
  3. Tap the three dots icon in the upper left of a photo or video. Next, choose Copy Link.

  4. Open the Shortcuts app → My Shortcuts → tap on the Instagram Media shortcut.

  5. Whenever asked, tap OK to give access permissions to this shortcut. After that, the Instagram picture or video will be saved to the iPhone Photos app.

Helpful Tip: You can add this shortcut to your iPhone Home Screen. This will eliminate the need to open the Shortcut app each time (step 4 above). You can copy the post link and tap on Instagram Media shortcut directly from the Home Screen.

Notes:

  • In the steps above, I used Inflact.com. You are free to use other similar websites like DownloadGram.com. The steps are almost identical.
  • Next, visit any site mentioned above in the browser section of this app. If needed, you can take help from our article, where we showed how to download Twitter videos on iPhone using this app.

Take screenshot or screen recording on iPhone

To save an Instagram photo, you can take a screenshot and then crop the unwanted parts. For Instagram video posts, you can see how to record your entire iPhone screen.

Use a Repost iOS app

Repost apps are primarily used to post somebody else’s Instagram post to your profile. However, these apps locally save the file to the iPhone Camera Roll before you hit the final repost button.

So, this little hack can also be used to download Instagram photos. Just know that most of these apps require a premium purchase to remove the username from the image. However, Reposter for Instagram seems to be an exception.

Optionally: Repost Quick for Instagram is an old app that has not been updated in 4 years. But it works on iOS 13 and iOS 14. In a single tap, it lets you download five images or videos for free. After that, you need to pay.

How to save Instagram photos and videos on Computer

You can use all the sites mentioned above on your Mac or Windows PC to download media from Instagram. If you want to make things easy, check out 4K Stogram. It lets you download your profile as well as anybody’s entire Instagram profile in just a few steps – even if the account is private! The app works exceptionally well.

Signing off…

These are some of the ways to download Instagram photos and videos to your iPhone or iPad, and computer.

Additionally, if you like a post and wish to save it for later, tap on the ribbon icon in the bottom right of any Instagram picture or video. I use it to save Instagram ads I like and may want to return to them in the future. To see all your saved posts, tap on your profile icon → hamburger icon from the top-right → Saved.

How to save a picture from Instagram to iPhone

Almost everyone at least once faced with the need to download photos from Instagram to their phone. However, this is not so easy to do - the application does not have a "Save Image" button; most likely to have fewer copyright conflicts between users. However, sometimes downloading a picture or video from Instagram is really necessary. And there is a way to do it in just a few seconds, without installing unknown photo download apps.

There are several ways to save an Instagram photo to your phone.

There are many instructions on the Internet on how to save an Instagram photo to your phone. Basically, they offer to download an application like “InstaSaver Pro Max” (the name is purely for an example, but somehow they are usually called like that), which will perform this task. But it is better not to use such solutions.

Firstly, in such applications, most often they ask you to log in using your Instagram account. Trust your username and password is not clear to anyone - is not the best idea . Given that there have been quite a lot of spammers and scammers lately. Secondly, some programs work on a PAID basis. Yes, they offer to pay for what seems to be a fairly simple action. And people pay to save themselves from unnecessary headaches.

But there is the simplest solution available to literally every iPhone (or Android) user. It will take you just a few seconds to upload a photo with it. In addition, this method works not only with pictures, but also with videos!

How to save Instagram photo to iPhone

  1. Open Instagram and find the photo you want to save. Click the button with three dots in the upper right corner and select "Copy link";
  2. Follow this link and add your Save As Bot telegram bot, which allows you to isolate photos, videos and other content from Instagram;
  3. Save As bot allows you to save photos, videos, IGTV, and even Reels

  4. Enter the activation command / start in the message input line, wait until the bot turns on and greets you;
  5. Now just send him the link to the Instagram post you want to save.

Done! A photo that was only on the user's Instagram page a few seconds ago is now in your phone's camera roll. And you can do whatever you want with it. Not forgetting, of course, about copyrights, if the picture is suddenly protected by them.

It's very cool that Save As Bot allows you to download photos not only as a regular picture, but also file so as not to lose quality. And he also singles out the signature for the publication and gives it as a separate message.

In my opinion, this is the easiest way to download a picture from Instagram to phone . However, if you wish, you can use an alternative.

PS: At the end of November 2020, this method stopped working, because. Telegram stopped showing pictures from Instagram by link. Perhaps later this method will work again.

How else to download a picture from Instagram to your phone

  1. Download the application "Teams" on your iPhone using this link;
  2. Go to "Settings" - "Quick commands" and allow the installation of commands from untrusted sources;
  3. Allow at your own risk

  4. Download command Instagram Media Saver from this link;
  5. Go to the Instagram app and find the photo or video you want;
  6. Click on the context menu button (three horizontal dots) and select "Share";
  7. In the window that opens, click Save Photo or Save Video;
  8. Another option to save a photo from Instagram

  9. Go to the Photos app and find the video or picture you downloaded from Instagram.

You can see a few more ways to download photos or videos from Instagram in our article in Yandex.Zen.

Someone may like this method more, but I would recommend downloading photos via Telegram. The time is the same, but you don’t need to install “Teams”, allow an unreliable command and do configuration.
