Today, we’re introducing Live Rooms, giving you the ability to go Live on Instagram with up to three people. Previously, you could go live with only one other person in a stream, but we’re now letting you “double up” on your live broadcast.

We hope that doubling up on Live will open up more creative opportunities — start a talk show, host a jam session or co-create with other artists, host more engaging Q&As or tutorials with your following, or just hang out with more of your friends.

Live Rooms also gives creators even more ways to build a business and earn money. We recently announced that Live viewers could purchase badges for their favorite creators to show their love. With Live Rooms, viewers can buy badges for the hosts and use other interactive features like Shopping and Live Fundraisers. We’re also exploring more interactive tools such as offering moderator controls and audio features that will be available in the coming months.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, we’ve seen people on Instagram embrace Live in different ways. In the past year, special moments have happened on Live, including informational talks about science and COVID-19 guidelines, interviews with celebrities and record-breaking rap battles. Creators of all kinds — from fitness instructors to musicians, beauty bloggers, chefs and activists, all relied on Live to create moments and bring people together to reach their communities in creative ways. We can’t wait to see what more creativity comes from this highly-requested update.

Your following knows you individually, but what happens when four creators come together? That curiosity is what we want to keep alive. What was special about our Live Rooms stream is that all our different followers got the chance to see four of us talk about something we universally love. "

How it Works

To start a Live Room— swipe left and pick the Live camera option. Then, add a title and tap the Rooms icon to add your guests. You’ll see people who have requested to go live with you, and you can also search for a guest to add. When you start a Live Room, you’ll remain at the top of the screen when you add guests. As a broadcaster, you can add up to three guests at once or one by one (for example, you could start with two guests, and add a surprise guest as the third participant later! 🥳) Going live with multiple guests is a great way to increase your reach, as guests’ followers can also be notified.

Being able to have open, face-to-face conversations on Instagram Live has helped us capture attention and connect directly with our millions of Roommates. We're excited to use Live Rooms to expand our reporting capabilities, engage with our followers, and to continue growing our platform. "

Angelica Nwandu, founder of media company @theshaderoom

We want Instagram to be the best place for creators to have meaningful conversations with their audiences and each other, and we designed this new update with safety in mind. People that are blocked by any of the active participants in the Live Room will not be able to join the Live. Guests who have had live access revoked because of violations of our Community Guidelines also won’t be able to join a Live Room. Features that are currently available to Live hosts, such as the ability to report and block comments, and apply comment filters will also be available to hosts of Live Rooms.

This update is another step forward in giving creators more ways to reach and interact with their audiences. Live Rooms will soon be available globally for everyone on Instagram.

4 Ways to Use Joint Live On Instagram

Hello, Igor Zuevich is in touch ✋Instagram is constantly evolving and offering users more and more new opportunities. For example, it has long been possible to conduct a joint live broadcast.

⚡️However, many people still do not use this opportunity. But this is a great way to promote your account.

❓How to make a joint live broadcast on Instagram

⚡️You can agree on a joint broadcast in advance with one of your colleagues, viewers or business partners.

⚡️Also, you can invite any viewer who watches the broadcast to the live broadcast without prior agreement.

⚡️If you want to invite a second participant, just click the icon that contains 2 faces during the broadcast. Then you select the desired account from the list.

⚡️And then the decision is made by the potential participant. If he agrees, the screen will be divided into 2 parts. At the top there will be your image as the host of the broadcast, and at the bottom there will be your guest. At the same time, both of you will see the comments and be able to respond to them, as well as answer questions from viewers.

⚡️What is very important: at any time you can remove the guest from the air and continue broadcasting on your own. The guest can also leave the joint live broadcast at any time, then only you will remain on the air.

❓And yet, why conduct joint live broadcasts, what does it give participants, and how to use joint broadcasts?

▶️Today I want to talk about 4 ways to use joint live broadcasts:

1️⃣Collaboration, or partnership

✅ For example, in my blog I write about sales, marketing, copywriting, PR and promotion on Instagram and other social networks.

⚡️But I know that my audience is also interested in related topics. Such as: photography, legal and financial literacy, branding, and much more.

⚡️In order to fully reveal additional topics to my viewers, I periodically invite third-party experts on these topics. We conduct joint live broadcasts and answer people's questions. Also, I can prepare interesting questions from myself and my readers in advance and ask them to an expert during a live broadcast.

⚡️Both options will help viewers understand the questions they have long wanted to ask, but did not know to whom.

2️⃣Answers to questions

✅As I said, you can invite any viewer during the live broadcast. For example, you answer questions in the comments, but you can selectively ask one of the readers to ask a question live.

⚡️A person connects to the broadcast, asks a question and you not only answer it, but analyze the situation in detail and together with other viewers.

⚡️This is something like a consultation, but not individual, but together with others, so to speak, "in front of the whole room."

⚡️Live communication is always hundreds of times better than many posts, answers to questions and recordings of live broadcasts.

⚡️In addition, during the live broadcast, people write so many questions that it is not always possible to read them all, and even more so to answer them.

✅ You can also invite your buyers, clients, readers to broadcast. Ask them to share their thoughts, results, and experiences of collaboration with you.

⚡️Let customers show their purchases that they made from you, talk about the advantages and even disadvantages of your products and services.

⚡️So you can not only find out all the pros and cons of your product, but also draw conclusions, change and improve something.

⚡️Positive reviews will also be great social proof for those who are just planning to buy but have doubts.

⚡️You don't have to convince potential customers of the quality, benefits and benefits of working with you. Others will do it for you, and the effect will be many times more powerful!

4️⃣Comfortable environment

✅ When you broadcast live, you don't see people on the other side of the screen. And although they ask questions in writing, their faces are not visible.

⚡️It seems that you are communicating with yourself, you are alone, no one sees you. And in general, it is not clear whether this live broadcast is necessary for someone.

⚡️To get rid of this feeling and make the live broadcast more comfortable, you can invite your employee, assistant, friend, acquaintance. See how much easier it will be for you to broadcast.

▶️In addition to what we talked about above, joint live broadcasts are a great way to promote, attract new readers to your account. And here's why:

✔️ joint live broadcast always turns out to be livelier, more interesting and more diverse. Those who once came to your joint broadcast will be waiting for something like this again and again. Especially if the invited specialist is known in their niche. This means: they will follow you, wait for announcements, be active in your account;

✔️ if you were invited to a joint broadcast, and you interested the partner's viewers, then there is a chance to find new readers and potential customers;

✔️ joint broadcasting with subcontractors will allow not only to express yourself, but also to find the possibility of long-term cooperation. For example, you are a web designer, you broadcast with a photographer. Subsequently, it is likely that you will have the opportunity to recommend each other to your customers.

❗️For a joint live broadcast to work, it is not enough to conduct it 1-2, even 5 times! You must do such broadcasts constantly: both planned and spontaneous. With friends, colleagues, partners, customers, and perhaps even with competitors.

Do not be afraid to experiment, it will definitely bring not only results, but also a great experience for the future.

As you can see, if you already know how and why to conduct joint live broadcasts and what advantages it opens up for you both in promoting your account and in selling goods on Instagram, then you will use all 4 ways to attract new readers and customers to your account. Do not forget to apply your knowledge and my recommendations. Approach your work creatively, and success will surely come. It is better to act together and together with those people who already have experience and results. Come to our programs, at the same time and earn more!

With you,
- Igor Zuevich.

How to use joint broadcasts for promotion?

First, let's look at the benefits that you get from holding joint broadcasts.

  1. This is a real method for engaging subscribers in your life, the life of the company, as well as an outside view online.
  1. You can chat with the audience in a talk show format when there are two speakers. And here you already have room for creativity: you can choose a topic and discuss opposing points of view, invite an expert, and so on.
  1. Opportunities to expand the audience through partnerships. The broadcast will be seen by both your subscribers and the subscribers of the one you invite. For example, you build houses, and your partners design - and they and you have an audience that is interested in you, both together and separately.

Application examples.

Beauty salon : invite a popular blogger in your city and start a joint broadcast where he talks about visiting your salon. The same is true for fitness clubs, spas, restaurants and so on.

Construction: as we said above, designers and builders can make joint broadcasts, talking about the nuances of construction and the importance of design.

B2B segment: invite an expert, discuss news and innovations, release of new laws, analyze case studies, etc.
If the co-broadcast topics above apply to you, get your team together and brainstorm to come up with this topic.

What is important when broadcasting together? How to broadcast live if you are doing it together with a guest?

Pin comment , which will indicate the topic of the broadcast. Thus, those who connect in the middle of the broadcast or fall into it by accident will be able to quickly understand what is happening.
