The sale of goods in the messenger could only be implemented by connecting external tools: a chat bot, a chat shop, a virtual manager, etc.

The use case for new function is as follows:

  1. We create product cards on our smartphone in the WhatsApp Business application;
  2. When communicating with customers, we send any of the product cards to the chat;
  3. The client opens the product card in his WhatsApp without switching to external applications;
  4. The client sees several images of the product, its name and price, description, and most importantly, see other products from the catalog! And all this without leaving your messenger! It is also possible to follow an external link, for example, to pay.
    The client, by the way, can have a regular WhatsApp, not a Business.

Creating a product catalog in your WhatsApp Business is not difficult. Open the application and in the upper right menu select:
Settings / Business settings / Catalog , and then click the green circle with a plus in the lower right corner and add a new product.

What can be added to the product card:

  1. Several images;
  2. Product name;
  3. Product price;
  4. Description;
  5. Link to an external resource;
  6. Product code (article).

To add fields with a description and a link, click the inscription Additional fields . Press 9 to save0017 Save in the top right corner.

How to create a catalog in a WhatsApp business account

It will be visible to those customers who appear on WhatsApp.

In iPhones and Android phones, the new directory is filled according to one algorithm. The difference lies only in the visualization and location of the settings.

For iPhone:

  1. In the WhatsApp Business app, click on the "Settings" icon.
  2. Select "Business Tools".
  3. Further "Catalogue".

Android:

  1. Open WhatsApp Business and click on the three dots in the top right corner.

Editing

You can add a product to the catalog on iPhone as follows:

  1. Select "Add to catalog".
  2. Click Add Images. The application will offer to take a picture or upload a ready-made photo.
  3. Fill in the lines with the name, price, and, if necessary, additional fields (product description, link, and object code).
  4. Click Save.

Attention. Up to 10 photos can be uploaded in one product card.

Follow the same sequence when working with the catalog on Android:

  1. While in the catalog, click "Add new product".
  2. Next, write the necessary information on the product (name, price, description, link, product code).
  3. Add an image via the camera icon using the camera or gallery.
  4. Click Save.

Now more about the contents of the card:

  • Name — choose a name for the product in WhatsApp Catalog.
  • Price — the currency will be determined by the country code of the SIM card.
  • Description - add a description up to 5000 words.
  • Link - directs customers to a website. There they proceed to checkout or access detailed information.
  • Product code - if you wish, code the products, in other words, assign an article.

Help. If during the process of filling out the card you need to delete the uploaded photo, select it with a long press. The "Change image" option will appear, where there will be an option with deletion (trash icon).

The collection option helps you group products into categories. In the catalog, along with the "Add new product" option, there is the line "Add a new collection":

  1. Enter the name of the collection.
  2. Check the cards you want to include.
  3. Click Finish.

To remove a product from the catalog, follow these steps:

  1. Select the cards that are not needed.
  2. Click on the trash icon at the top.
  3. Confirm your actions.

If you want to delete an item while inside the card itself, you don't have to go back to the catalog. Click on the three dots at the top of the application and select "Delete".

The "Hide product" option is located on the catalog page and looks like a crossed eye icon. To hide information:

  1. Select a card.
  2. Click on the eye at the top of the screen and confirm by clicking "Hide".
  3. The corresponding symbol will then appear on the photo.

This function is useful if, for example, a particular item is out of stock. As soon as the product appears, you can restore the visibility of the card:

  1. Highlight the hidden block.
  2. Click on the eye symbol at the top of the screen.
  3. The product is available for viewing in the catalog again.

Sending to the interlocutor

In the process of correspondence with the client, the seller can send both the entire catalog and its individual components. The feature helps to stay in the same application and saves time for chat participants.

Send catalog for android:

  1. Click on the paperclip icon at the bottom.
  2. Choose the "Catalog" icon among the usual "Document", "Gallery" and others.
  3. Mark what you were going to show and send.

For iPhone:

  1. Click on the plus icon at the bottom.
  2. Press the last line "Catalog".
  3. Highlight what you need and send.

If you sent a catalog, the buyer clicks "View catalog" or clicks on a link in the text and gets acquainted with the content.

If a customer has received a card for a specific product, the message will display the name, price, and an active "View" button to study the details.

Sending to other messengers

This option is also provided by the application developers. To do this, you need:

  1. Go to the directory.
  2. Click on the three dots at the top.
  3. Select Share.
  4. Next, click on the third option "Share link".

    Attention. On iPhones, "Share Link" will be on the second line, as there is no "Copy Link" option in this section.

  5. Mark the desired messenger from the list and send the catalog.

Sending to multiple people
