1. Download Instagram post templates.

Let's face it — you don't always have the time, resources, or personnel to design noteworthy Instagram posts. That's why we recommend using Instagram Post Templates for Business which you can build from and customize.

Here are some options to create and save Instagram post templates, so you can have stunning posts on-hand whenever you're ready to publish.

Featured Resource: 22 Free Instagram Post Templates for Business

Need templates to get started? Download HubSpot's free Instagram post templates for both traditional posts and stories, which you can tailor as you see fit when it comes to your brand. You can alter any parts of the template – the image, the copy, and the design elements – to ensure you're publishing posts to grow and engage your follower base.

2. Choose your post format.

While traditional Instagram posts to your permanent timeline are more long-lasting and allow for comments and likes, you shouldn't underestimate the power of Instagram Stories, which can be used for more immediate needs and occasions.

In fact, 500 million accounts use the Instagram Stories feature daily. So, when you're creating your post, ask yourself if it warrants publication as a story or as a traditional post.

3. Choose an image.

Maybe you've decided your post doesn't need a photograph and that text overlay on a solid-color background will work for you. If that's the case, hop over to the next step.

If you've decided you do want to use a photograph – particularly if you want one as the background for text overlay – you've got a few options.

  • Take a photo on your phone or with a camera. No need to be a professional photographer for your Instagram posts – you can learn how to take great photos with your phone here.
  • Use a photo from your company's files. This works well if you need to utilize team photos or product photography, which may be better quality.
  • Use a stock photo that pertains to your business (just make sure you don't use the same one multiple times!).

Whichever photo you decide to use, simply replace it as the background for the template you're using in the HubSpot Instagram Post Template collection and resize the photo so it's to your liking (and is good quality).

4. Add design elements.

Instagram post templates come with design placeholders for text with special fonts and other elements. Your next step is to alter, add, or remove any elements that you see fit.

This includes updating the copy to reflect the information you want followers to know and/or the action you want them to take.

5. Save the photo.

When you've done all you can in the template builder of your choosing, save your photo to be posted on Instagram. All you'll have to do here is click File > Download > PNG Image or JPEG Image. Then, just name the photo file, email, or message it to yourself, and save it on your phone so you can post it.

6. Upload to Instagram.

Once you have your photo saved, it's time to upload it to share with your followers. For a traditional post, open Instagram, click the + button in the bottom center, choose your photo, add any filter, description, or hashtags, and click Share. (Take a look at How to Post on Instagram: a Step-by-Step Guide if you're still unsure.)

For an Instagram Story post, click on the camera icon in the top left of your screen, access your camera roll in the bottom left of the screen, choose your image, minimize the date that shows up to the point where it can't be seen, and add any additional design elements – like a GIF or additional copy – to the image. From there, click Your Story on the bottom left.

How to create Instagram post templates for your brand

SHARE

Instagram is undoubtedly the most powerful marketing tool. It unites over 25 million companies. And in order to stay afloat and compete with other brands, you need to create well-designed posts. An easy way to create a consistent style on your Instagram page is with post templates.

Post templates allow you to develop and maintain a corporate identity without design skills. Using ready-made post templates, it will be easier for you to create a single feed that can attract an audience to your brand.

In this article, I will give you different options on how to create templates for Instagram posts using popular online services.

1. Use Hubspot's ready-made post templates

Of course, we don't always have enough time and resources to create thoughtful and high-quality posts. Therefore, I recommend paying attention to ready-made post templates that can be quickly customized for your business. You can find many ready-made templates on the web, for example, from Hubspot.

The Hubspot templates above include both traditional post templates and story templates that you can customize to your liking. You can change any part of the template - image, text, design elements.

Post templates are handy to use in the first steps of growing your Instagram business. They will help increase engagement and attract your audience.

Do you want to learn how to promote your brand on Instagram and Facebook? Follow the link and register for a free marathon for setting up ads.

1. Choose the format of your post

While traditional Instagram posts are more durable and generate more likes and comments, underestimate the power of Stories.

Over 500 million accounts use Instagram Stories every day. When you're creating your post, consider whether it's best to publish it as a story or as a feed post.

2. Pick an image

Maybe you decide your post doesn't need a photo. That it is enough just to impose the text on a plain background. If so, skip this step.

If you need an image for your post, especially if you want to use it as a background for your text, check out these options:

  • Take a photo with your smartphone or camera. You don't have to be a professional photographer to post on Instagram.
  • Use photos from your company database. This works well if you need to use team or product photos.
  • Use stock photos that are relevant to your business (just make sure you don't use the same photo multiple times).

Whatever photo you choose to use, simply make it the background for the HubSpot ready-made templates provided here. Resize the photo to your taste. The main thing is that the image is of good quality.

3. Add design elements

Instagram post templates contain design elements such as text backgrounds, fonts, and more. When using pre-made templates, the next step after adding an image is to add, modify or remove any elements to your liking.

Reflect in the template all the information you want to convey to your audience.

4. Save your template

Once you've done everything you need to do, save your template for later posting to Instagram. To do this, in the HubSpot constructor, select "File" - "Download". Next, select "PNG Image" or "JPEG Image". Rename your file and send it by email or download it to your smartphone or PC.

5. Download Instagram Post Template

After saving your photo, you can then upload it to your profile. You can also add a filter, description, and hashtags to the template.

If you post a template to a story, you can also match it with any additional design elements, such as stickers, polls, or other images.

2. Canva

Canva offers thousands of custom Instagram post templates. To create a post for Instagram in Canva, register in the service and on the main page, find the "Social networks" tab.

Select Post to Instagram. Next, follow these steps:

1. On the left side you will see many template options - some paid, but many free. All templates are divided into categories. Choose the one you like.

2. Once you select the template, click on the text box to change the text to . In the top menu, you can choose the font, text color, size, and spacing.

3. When you're done with the text, select the background of image (outside the text field). You can add filters, adjust image brightness, contrast, and more.

You can choose a different background for the template in the left menu on the "Background" tab.

4. Once you've edited the template for your post, add decorations, text and colors, open the Canva app on your phone.

5. Click the Up Arrow icon at the top of the screen and choose how you would like to publish this template. We need the "Post to Instagram" option. You can also select "Instagram Story" if you want to post to stories.

If you haven't yet decided how you'll publish your design, just save it as an image on your smartphone.

Remember that your template is automatically saved to your Canva account. You can always open and edit them in the future.

You can create multiple feed and story post templates at the same time. Then you just have to select the desired template, insert text and change the image. This will allow you to significantly save time by directing all your efforts to promoting posts, attracting an audience and building relationships with your subscribers.

In addition to Canva, there are several other design tools that allow you to create templates for your Instagram posts for free.

Consider these three tools:

  • Fotor.
  • Crello.
  • HubSpot.

By the way, follow the link to learn about effective advertising strategies.

3. ReciteThis

If you need to create a quote post template, there are many separate apps and services for that too.

For example, ReciteThis. You only need to follow three steps.

1. Enter your quote in the text field.

2. Choose a post style from the gallery below. Next, click the "Finish" button.

3. Click the "Download Image" button to save, email, or post to Instagram.
