Unfortunately, the Instagram application doesn’t support bulk archiving. You can just archive the posts one by one in the Instagram app. But don’t worry! There is a way that you can mass archive the consecutive posts using third-party applications. In the following, we will show you how you can mass archive Instagram posts using a mobile device or a PC.

Tap the three-dots button on the top right corner, select “Archive” and then tap the top bar of the application to make sure you are on that page. These 3 moves will be recorded in order to archive other posts. 6. After it, tap the “Done” green button which is appeared on the screen to finish recording.
7. Now, you can repeat the action by hitting the play button on the toolbar.
8. The action will be repeated until you pause the process or it archives all the posts. 9. You can finish the process by hitting the cross button on the toolbar. 10. All archived posts will appear in the archive section of your account.
Can We Do It On Pc & Mac Too?
Unfortunately, the web version of Instagram doesn’t support the story feature so, you can’t archive even one post using the Instagram web. But don’t be disappointed! You can archive Instagram posts on your PC using an emulator software.
Emulators can help you have the same experience you have on your phone using your PC. They stimulate the mobile phone environment so you can run mobile applications on them too. Many Android emulators can help you with this task. Nox Player and BlueStacks are two of the most well-known emulators that you can download for free.
For mass archiving Instagram posts on your PC, you should follow the previous way. The only difference is that you need to run an emulator on your system and then follow the steps we mentioned before.
1. Download an android emulator suitable for your operating system. 2. Install and run the emulator. 3. In the emulator window, download Instagram from Google Play and log into your account. 4. Download the “Click Assistant – Auto Clicker” application from Google Play in the emulator environment. 5. Follow the steps we mentioned in the last section to mass archive posts on your mobile phone.
The procedure is the same, the emulator stimulates your mobile phone’s environment and then you will go through the same procedure.
All in All…

When To Use Instagram Archive Feature? There are plenty of reasons why someone prefers to archive posts on Instagram, either for personal accounts or business accounts.
For personal accounts, people usually use the ‘Instagram archive’ in order to hide some memories of the past for some reason, but not delete them forever.
On the other hand, business accounts and brands are a little harder to justify archiving. The reasons why business accounts make use of the Instagram archive are much different and more technical.
Here are some ways you can take advantage of the Instagram archive for your own business strategy.
Using Instagram Archive- Reason #1: ContestsThis strategy works best, especially for those who regularly run contests on Instagram. You have two possible ways here; you can archive all your previous posts and only keep the ones on your profile that are related to your contest, so it drives the mere attention to the contest.
Moreover, there are people who often see your contest post after the contest has ended, and it may cause confusion. To avoid this confusion, you’d better simply archive the posts promoting the contest once there is no time left to participate anymore.
It should be noted that using this strategy not only helps you still retain all the Likes and Comments to review for contest entrants, but also it prevents confusion.
Using Instagram Archive-Reason #2: AnnouncementsIt would be a good idea to archive all your posts beforehand when you have a major announcement ahead. It will definitely help you draw attention to your feed.
A good example of this strategy is Taylor Swift. Her team decided to archive all her posts ahead of the release of her new single; look what you made me do.
When the singer’s 102 million followers encountered her empty feed, they immediately started to look forward to figuring out what she was up to. So this strategy created a buzz around her next move.
Using Instagram Archive-Reason #3: Clean Up Your FeedSometimes you see some posts on your business profile that you think are not relevant, new, etc., to have a room there. Then it’s time to archive them in case you wouldn’t like to delete them.
For instance, imagine you previously had some products on sale that aren’t available now; you can achieve them to streamline your gallery so you can unarchive them once they’re available again.
Using Instagram Archive-Reason #4: Legal ReasonsImagine you post something that looks offensive to a special group of people, and for any reason, it causes some public issue. The only way you may think of, is by deleting the post and apologizing. But bear in mind that deleting the post deletes all the comments (positive or negative), the interactions, etc.
As a brand, reviewing all of this data to see where you went wrong or how you could improve it is of great importance.
So it makes more sense to archive the post and access all its valuable data and engagement rates rather than deleting the post and end up losing them all.
ConclusionAccording to Instagram, the archive on Instagram feature was designed to give users more control over their profile, and what they decide to show their followers. “Your profile is a representation of who you are and evolves with you over time,” Instagram wrote in a post. “With Instagram Archive, you now have more flexibility to shape your profile while still preserving moments that matter.”
Instagram archive feature is all about providing users with a way to filter their profiles without having to make any permanent changes.

5 Tips for Using the Instagram Archive
The Archive feature has changed the rules of the game on Instagram* since it appeared on Instagram*.
No matter what Instagram* strategy you're using right now, the archive feature is sure to have its place! Let's see for ourselves, but first let's look at what it is and how it works.
What is Instagram archive*?
Have you ever deleted images while scrolling through your account? For sure. Some of them no longer seem successful to you, some do not correspond to the current strategy, and so on.
Another situation. You flip through the feed and see a photo that you can't look away from. It doesn't make much sense to repost it, but you want to keep it for yourself. What did you do in this case? Most likely, they took a screenshot from the screen - quickly and easily.
Now, when you archive your old post, you save it along with the number of likes and comments. From now on, only you have access to them. No screenshots from the screen and separate albums "Old" in the phone's memory.
How does it work?
Open your publication and click on the three dots.
In the menu that opens, select the "Archive" optionDone! Want to see the archive? Go to your account and click on the three bars in the upper right corner:
In the menu that opens, select the clock buttonYou are now in the archived content window. Here you can not only view archived publications, but also archived Stories and live broadcasts.
Select the desired section of the archive from the drop-down list by clicking on the down arrowThe archiving function works only in the application on smartphones, on computers, viewing the page through a browser, you will not find this function.
Changed your mind about archiving? No problem. The publication can be restored and it will return to the same place where it was in its original form.
Here's how to do it:
Select the desired publication from the archive.
Click on the three dots again and select "Show on profile"Regarding other people's publications - now you are creating your own private gallery, which you can access at any time. And if earlier this could be done using archiving, today another function works for other people's publications, which is called "Saved".
When you see an interesting picture or information on someone's profile, click the flag below the picture. The post has been saved.
And to view it, go to your profile menu, just select not “Archive”, but “Saved”By the way, there is no need to specifically archive Stories. Once content is removed from your Story, it remains archived. You can check if automatic saving is configured in the settings.
5 ways to use the archive function
Idea 1. Hide all publications before the big update
Maintaining a page for a brand that is about to undergo a major update? Hide all posts - this will attract the attention of subscribers.
Shortly before Taylor Swift's single was released, her team archived all messages, leaving 103 million subscribers in thought.
Intrigue in its purest formFans immediately began to speculate about what she was up to. Managed to create a buzz.
This is what the page looked like when the single was releasedEverlane used a similar strategy before launching a new line of jeans. They archived all content and published a large amount of thematic material before the release of the collection.
Brand page before the launch of the new collectionTo draw attention to the new product, Chipotle also archived all content, leaving only the content that draws attention to the update.
Chipotle's page before the updateThey later created a 100 part story with a new product in each image.
According to research, about 70-75% of subscribers have watched this story to the endYou can post Stories not only through the official application. If you like to work from a computer, it is convenient to do this through the delayed posting service. Read more in the article “Instruction: how to post a Story to Instagram* from a computer” on the SMMplanner blog.
Even if archiving all the content in an account seems extreme to you, it's worth trying this method and appreciate the hype that will arise among subscribers. Believe me, the audience will guess that you have something big in mind.
After the update is released, you can return all publications to their original places, as the Everlane brand did, or continue the account from scratch, like Taylor Swift.
Idea 2: General account cleanup
Go through the feed and see if there are images in it that you can do without? For example, photos from an old job or those that do not fit the new color scheme?
Experiment with cleanup to see how your followers react to your page's aesthetic.
Didn't like the reaction to innovations? Just unzip the publications from the archive! This way you can check not only the reaction to the color palette or processing methods, but also to the theme of the account as a whole. Archive specific images, leaving only related images and see how they react.
Idea 3. Archiving irrelevant but necessary materials
If the previous tip was more about personal accounts, then this recommendation will be useful for business. Did you change the company name or product line? Are there posts on the page about old products that are no longer relevant? Do not delete them, but leave them in the archive and come back to evaluate the statistics, analyze them, find the pros and cons.
Moreover, publications in the archive help not to bring down account statistics, which can happen when a post is deletedIdea 4. Share memories
this day a year, two or more years ago. If the memories seem interesting, through Stories you can share it with your subscribers.
Idea 5. Create a “Background”
Circles on your Instagram page* are Hot: moments from your Stories that you not only want to keep, but also leave for the use of subscribers.
