Instagram Stories are easy to make, but they can require a lot of thought if you want to make them truly entertaining. Thankfully, Instagram offers a number of tools to help make your stories as fun as possible.
Maybe you've got some great photos or videos and some cool filters and stickers to layer on top, but your story is still missing one important factor—music. Instagram offers a selection of tunes from its own library and your favorite music streaming services, like Spotify(Opens in a new window), SoundCloud(Opens in a new window), and Shazam. Here's everything you need to know about music and Instagram.
You can add music directly to your story using Instagram’s library. Tap the plus (+) icon at the top of the app, then scroll to Story on the bottom navigation bar. You can also long-press Your Story and tap Add to Your Story or swipe to the right to open your camera, then select Your Story after the photo or video is captured.
At the camera screen, snap your photo or video. You can also swipe up to see your photo library, then select what you want to add. Apply whatever filters or special effects you want. When you're ready to add a tune to your story, tap the Sticker icon and then tap the Music sticker.
At the Music screen, browse through the different sections and genres to find a tune. You can also use the search field at the top of the screen to search for particular music by song, artist, or album. Spot a song you like? Tap the Play button to hear a short clip.
When you're ready to make a selection, tap the song you want in your story. You will have the opportunity to scroll through the song and decide what sound clip (up to 15 seconds) will play over your story. Move the slider bar until you find the section you want added.
Some songs offer multiple images from which you can choose, so tap the music thumbnail to change the image.
Some even offer lyrics that appear on the screen as the music plays. When you're happy with the image you've chosen, tap Done and the song is added to your story in the form of a sticker.
Once you've finalized your music selection, the song appears as a sticker in your story. You can choose where the sticker will be placed in your story by moving it around the screen with your finger. Change the size of the sticker by pinching or expanding two fingers. Use two fingers and twist to change the orientation of the sticker.
Don’t like the look of your sticker? Double-tap it to return to the previous screen, where you can change the appearance of the sticker. Tap Done to return to your story.
If you’ve recorded a video, you can do even more with your sticker before you post the story. Hold down on it and you’ll be able to pin the sticker to a specific person or object in the video. This means the sticker will move along with the object as it moves in the video.
When you're done tweaking the music, tap the Your Story icon to publish your story with music. Alternatively, if you want only specific people to see it, you can either tap Close Friends to send it to a custom group of people, or tap Send To and select which users should get it.
To view your story, tap the Your Story icon. Your story appears with the music automatically playing. Tapping the song label pauses the music and brings up a window at the bottom through which you can save the music or send it to another person on Instagram. Your followers can view your story and play the music in the same way.
You can add music to your Instagram story by grabbing it from the Spotify app. With a song playing in Spotify, tap the ellipsis icon and choose the Share option. Tap Instagram and you're taken to your Instagram story, where your selected song appears with its cover art.
You can add text, stickers, and other effects to your story. Tap the Your Story icon to post the story with the song you selected.
Once your story has been posted, it will serve as a link back to Spotify. Tap the Your Story icon in Instagram to view it. Anyone who views your story can tap Play on Spotify, and then Open Spotify to launch the song in the app.
Share a song from the SoundCloud app to your Instagram story by selecting a song and choosing Share. Select Stories to import the song and its associated image into Instagram.
Once the story has been published, it will serve as a link back to the song on SoundCloud. View the story, tap Play on SoundCloud, then select Open SoundCloud to open the song in the app.
While Shazam is primarily used to analyze and identify songs you’re already listening to, you can also get the app to play music and send it to Instagram.
Open the app and allow it to recognize a song that is currently playing.
Tap the song in Shazam, then tap More and Share. Tap the Instagram option to send the song and its artwork to the Instagram app. After the story has been published, you can travel back to the Shazam app through Instagram. To do this, open the story in Instagram and tap the Open Shazam button to play the song in the app.

One of Instagram’s most popular features is the option to add music directly to Instagram stories. Instagram offers a lengthy selection of tunes from its music library and the ability to import songs from other music streaming services, like Spotify.
Instagram gets new tunes in its music library daily. This article will teach you everything you need about adding music to your Instagram Story or post. You’ll also see some common questions and misconceptions regarding Instagram music.
Let’s get started.
It doesn’t matter if you have an iPhone or an Android device, as long as Instagram is updated to the latest version. The process of adding music to Instagram is the same for both.
Note: This method requires lyrics or album art to appear on your Story, but you can resize it to your liking. Also, you can legally use premium music clips from Instagram’s library (uses Facebook Sound Collection).
Here is how it’s done.
Choosing “Separate” requires editing each segment.
Each one has music (if desired) when they autoplay. When your followers open your Instagram Story, your added song automatically plays for each segment you edited. If they want to see which song is playing, they can tap on the title under your name, and the song pops up in another tab.
Instagram released the “Reels” feature in August 2020. With it being such a new option, Reels are one of the easiest ways to post content on Instagram, including music. To add music to a reel, follow the steps below.
If you forget to add music before recording your Reel, don’t worry. Instagram allows you to add the music before or after recording the Reel.
It’s important to know that Instagram doesn’t allow you to add music directly to your Instagram posts. You can only add music to your Instagram Stories and Reels. Even if you add music to a video you made on your Story and download it, it will download without the song.
If you want to attach a song to a video and upload it on Instagram as a post, you have to edit your video beforehand. There are loads of free video editing apps and programs available that allow you to add music to your videos.
When finished, you can upload the video to your Instagram feed. One of the most feature-rich and user-friendly free video editing apps is InShot. You can also use songs, playlists, and albums from Spotify.
You can also adjust the end position (always cuts out the remainder). For advanced editing, go to the next step. Otherwise, skip to “Step 16.”
You can also add music to Instagram posts from Spotify, whether it be a song, an album, or an entire playlist. Once again, this method is identical for both iPhone and Android devices. This is how it’s done:
Your Story will open with the song preloaded, and you can make any additional adjustments. When you’ve finished perfecting the video, post it to your Story. If your followers have Spotify accounts, they can open the song on Spotify.
Note: There was an issue adding Spotify songs to Instagram, but a recent update resolved the error. Ensure that your Instagram app is updated.
How to Add Music to an Instagram Post the “Old Way?”Adding songs to your Instagram Story the ‘old way’ refers to how people used to add tunes before Instagram introduced the music feature. This is how it’s done:
It can be any song in your phone’s library or a music streaming app. When you play your Story, you’ll be able to hear the song in the background. What’s great about this method is that you don’t have a 15-second time limit. You can record as many stories as you want.

• Themes – Arabic party, Love, Family, Movie soundtracks, Morning, etc.

For instance, certain songs might be unavailable, or your music feature might not work. Here are some factors you need to keep in mind:
• Do you have the newest version of Instagram? Make sure to update Instagram if you haven’t.
• Do you have a Business account? Instagram restricts some songs for Business accounts. If that’s the case, you can switch to a regular account.
• You may live in a country where Instagram music isn’t available yet. Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do about it. However, there is a chance that Instagram music will become available in your region in the future.

The most important thing about finance, investment, business and technology
To make your Instagram profile more popular, you need to use various tricks. One of which is stories. By sharing the most creative and unusual mini-videos, you will definitely win the hearts of thousands of followers.
You must have noticed one interesting novelty in the social network application - the ability to impose musical accompaniment on such "short men". This is exactly what was said above - something unusual for the audience.
So it's worth taking advantage of it. nine0005
So how do you add music to your Instagram story? Does everyone have this feature on their phone? Is it possible to shoot immediately with sound? If these are the questions that you had when reading the beginning of our article, then stay with us, we will find out everything together.
To begin with, it is worth understanding what this option is. In 2018, the developers of the social network decided to please their users and added a new sticker to the program. The latter allows you to borrow audio tracks for stories on Instagram, while the music can be overlaid on:
So you can actively experiment with this direction in order to diversify your content.
It is worth noting that it is possible to work with audio in stories in the following way:
Consider everything in order. nine0005
Let's start with the most basic. Namely, how to add music to stories on Instagram in the application:
All of them are completely different and require a separate approach. Therefore, we will devote one section to them.
The most lucky owners of "apple" smartphones, because they can seamlessly overlay music on photos and videos. For this, the same novelty is used - a sticker. nine0005
To clearly understand how it works, repeat the steps below:
Note. A maximum of 15 seconds of the track can be used for photography. A video segment can last for the entire duration of the video. nine0005
On "alien" things are a little worse. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to attach a song to stories on an Android smartphone.
On a similar operating system, there is no such option yet, but nothing is impossible. Therefore, we will figure out how to “ennoble” our 15-second “movie”.
So, proceed as follows:
Done.
Now all that remains is to publish the video story to your feed.
Note. To share a story through Storybeat without a watermark, watch one ad no longer than 30 seconds.
Well, the most inconvenient way to make your clip music is through a personal computer. If you only have it at hand, then read the step-by-step instructions below:
Interesting.
Instagram on the BlueStacks 4 emulator on a PC has exactly the same interface as on a mobile device.
You can insert music into Instagram stories not only through the official application of the social network and the emulator, but also with the help of various third-party utilities. We list them:
Storybeat. Already mentioned above. This software allows you to easily make a good mini-video with interesting and modern voice acting in 2-3 steps. nine0005
Filmigo. Great editor for videos and photos. Allows you to apply backgrounds, filters, as well as crop and change the speed. And, of course, its main function is to put melodies on stories. It is absolutely easy to work in it:
Inshot. In addition to music, this software can help you "filter", crop or adjust the proportions of a photo, make a collage, add text, etc. The interface is almost the same as the two previous applications:
All of the above utilities are available on the Google Play Store and the Appstore.
Good to know. If these three softwares do not suit you, try VivaVideo or SnapMusic. There you will find more filters and music.

If you like the idea of a music story, try experimenting with the shared feed as well. Take a fun video and upload it to one of the editors listed above. Use filters and speedups to give it a certain zest, and then share the file to the Instagram social network through the same utility. To do this, select not "Stories", but "Feed". nine0005
You can go the simpler way: shoot a story directly with music playing in the background. To do this, select one of the options below:
If you still thought up and chose the second way, then consider the best way to do it:
