In-stream ads help eligible video creators earn money by including short video or image ads in qualifying videos. Creators get a share of the revenue from the video ads shown to their viewers. Viewers must view the entire ad to continue watching a video. As advertisers target different audiences, viewers will probably see different ads.
Only Facebook Pages are eligible to use in-stream ads. You're eligible for in-stream ads if you are 18 years or older and meet the following criteria:
You must publish videos from a Page, not a profile, to be eligible for in-stream ads. Learn how to convert a profile to a Page and about our video template for Pages.
You must meet our Partner Monetisation Policies, not only to be eligible for in-stream ads, but to stay eligible.
This metric helps determine how successfully you'll be able to monetise with in-stream ads. In the last 60 days, you need to have met the following requirements:
Eligibility Requirements for video on demand
Additional requirements for live videos
Videos must be published from a Page that has at least 10,000 followers.
Review our current (but growing!) list of supported countries and languages.
To be eligible for in-stream ads, your videos must be at least one minute long.
If your content is longer than three minutes, we recommend that you program your content to have a natural break at the one-minute mark. Please note that while in-stream monetisation supports content less than three minutes long, the requirements around publishing 3-minute video content must be met in order to include in-stream ads in your videos.
To check your Page's eligibility, head to Creator Studio > Monetisation overview

There are three types of in-stream ads you can place in your videos: pre-roll, mid-roll and image ads.
Pre-roll ads play before your video starts. These are shown to people who actively seek out the content. The more viewers that seek out the content, the more payouts you receive.
Mid-roll ads play during your video. These work best within a video that has natural break points. As most videos are still discovered in News Feed, we recommend that creators program their content for mid-roll ads.
Image ads are static image ads that are displayed under the content. Image ads help you earn money from videos that don't have a good place for mid-roll ads, such as comedy skits.
With Facebook in-stream ads, you can maximise your earnings while you focus on what you do best – making great content.
In-stream ads give creators a material and sustainable revenue model. Include ads in new or existing Facebook videos, and earn money.
Save time and let Facebook automatically detect natural spots for in-stream ads with automatic placement. Or, use manual placements to insert them at an exact point in your video.
We've designed in-stream ads to provide a good experience for your viewers, who prefer longer content with fewer breaks.
You live in London, your Facebook Page has 18,000 followers and you've created five 3-minute videos in the past month. Each video has over 150,000 1-minute views. Can you start making money by placing ads in your videos?

To continue watching the video, the viewer must watch the ad in its entirety. Because advertisers target different audiences, viewers will see different ads. nine0005

There are 3 types of In-Stream ads: Pre-roll and Mid-roll video ads, and image ads.
Shown before the video plays. They are seen by people who searched for this particular content. The more viewers are looking for content, the more payout will be received by its author.
Displayed during video playback. They are suitable for videos that can be compositionally divided into parts. Since most people watch videos in the News Feed, we recommend that creators take this into account and include pauses for mid-roll video ads in their videos from the start. nine0005
Static advertising under video content. It allows you to monetize videos that are not suitable for Mid-roll video ads (for example, comedy performances).
