How to Check Your Viber Number?Before we explain the process of locating your Viber number, it’s worth mentioning that your Viber number is essentially your phone number. When you first install the app on your phone, Viber asks you to enter your phone number, after which your entire contact list is synced to the app.
You can view your Viber number any time you want. It can be convenient in situations when you forget your phone number, so you can quickly check it. We will show you how to do it on different devices.
Even though the mobile app is more frequently used than the desktop app, it’s possible to view your Viber phone number on your computer too. Here’s how you can check your Viber number on your Mac:
- Open the desktop app on your Mac.
- Click on the three dots on the left sidebar.
- Your Viber number is located directly under your name and profile picture.
The process of checking your Viber number on Windows 10 is relatively straightforward. Here’s how you can do it in a few quick steps:
- Open the Viber desktop app on your computer.
- Go to your profile on the left side of your screen.
- Your Viber phone number is right under your Viber name.
That’s about it. Thankfully, the desktop app is just as easy to use as the mobile version.

- Your Viber number is located under your profile picture and your Viber name.

iPhoneTo check your Viber number on your iPhone, follow the steps below:
- Open Viber on your iPhone.
- Tap on the three dots in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Your Viber number is under your profile picture and your Viber name.
As you can see, finding your Viber number only takes a couple of seconds.
How to Check Your Viber ID?Your Viber ID is actually your Viber phone number. If you are interested in finding out its location, go back to the previous section.
Apart from your phone number, Viber also lets you choose your Viber name when you first install the app.
If you are interested, you can view and change your Viber name in a few quick steps. Here’s how it’s done on different devices:
MacTo view your Viber ID and name, and edit your Viber name on your Mac, follow the steps below:
- Run the app on your desktop.
- Click on the three dots on the left sidebar.
- Your ID and your name are in the upper-left corner of the desktop app.
- To change your Viber name, click “Edit.”
- Type in your new Viber name.
- Click “Done.”
When you change your Viber name on the desktop app, your phone app will be automatically updated as well.
Windows 10To view and edit your Viber name on Windows 10, follow these instructions:
- Open Viber on your computer.
- Go to the three dots on the left side of your desktop app.
- Click on the “Edit” option under your Viber name and ID.
- Type in your new Viber name.
- Choose “Done.”
To process of viewing and editing your Viber name on the phone app is quick and easy. Here’s how it’s done on an Android:
- Open Viber on your Android.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Tap on your Viber name. You will be taken to your profile information.
- Tap your name once again and delete it.
- Type in your new Viber name.
- Select “Done” in the upper-right corner of your screen.
You can also change your birthday and your email address on the same page. You will just need to confirm your new email address.
iPhoneTo change your Viber name on your iPhone, follow the steps below:
- Launch the app on your iPhone.
- Tap the three dots in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Tap on your name.
- Tap on your name again and delete your current Viber name.
- Type in your new Viber name.
- Tap “Done” in the upper-right corner of your screen.
It’s important to note that you can only change your Viber number on your mobile device. It isn’t possible on the desktop app. On the other hand, you can change your Viber name on the desktop app. Here’s how you can change your Viber phone number:
AndroidIf you want to change your Viber number on your Android device, follow these instructions:
- Launch Viber on your Android.
- Go to the three horizontal lines in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
- Tap “Settings.”
- Navigate to “Account.”
- Choose the “Change Phone Number” option.
- Either tap “New Phone Number” or “New Phone Number and New Device.”
- Type in your new number.
- Verify the new Viber number by entering the code you receive on your phone.
If you pick the first option, you won’t lose any data. If you are planning on switching to a new phone, then you should choose the “New Phone Number and New Device” option. However, if you want to keep all your contacts and chat history, make sure to back up your data first.
iPhoneTo change your Viber number on your iPhone, follow the steps below:
- Open Viber on your iPhone.
- Tap on the three dots in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Find “Settings” on the list of options.
- Select “Account.”
- Tap the “Change Phone Number” option.
- Select either “New Phone Number” or “New Phone Number and New Device.”
- Type in your new number.
- Verify your new number by entering the code Viber will send to you in a text message.
Keep in mind that if you change your Viber phone number, all your Viber contacts will be notified that you changed your number.
Can I Hide My Phone Number on Viber?
Unfortunately, it currently isn’t possible to hide your phone number on Viber, since you can only chat to Viber users who are already on your contact list, and users who might have your phone number as well. You can only hide chats on Viber by protecting it with a 4-digit code.

- You found that your kid has been sending inappropriate texts and pictures and want to prevent that from happening again.

First of all: You
can’t hack Viber, no matter what anyone saysViber, like all other popular messengers, has been improving its security systems for years now. The protection system it uses is called end-to-end encryption.
Essentially, this means that everything you send and receive (text, pictures, videos) can only be accessed by the participants of that conversation.
If that protection wasn’t there, you could intercept those texts/pictures/whatever before they arrived at their destination. Now, however, you can’t. Unless, of course, you use a spy app. See SPY APP SECTION for more.
Don’t trust any app, online tool, or “hacker for hire” because they are out to scam you
If you search for “Viber hacks” and so forth on Google and YouTube, you will see quite a lot of results.
These tools:
- DO NOT work.
- WILL take your money for no reason.
- WILL spam your email address with viruses and/or other fake “hacking tools”.
- WILL NOT allow you to “hack” or spy on Viber.
Below are some examples of these fake “services” and videos:
Here are two former YouTube videos about Viber hacking that were very popular, but were removed from YouTube for violating its policy (providing fake information):

Some will also tell you about methods that are either fake or have been fixed, such as:
- Getting Viber messages, pictures, and texts from the target phone’s files.
- Backing up Viber conversations in Google Drive and iCloud and then grabbing the files from there.
- Using the same Viber account in a different phone.
The first two methods don’t work simply because Viber files are encrypted (which means they are protected and you can’t open them).
And Viber is limited to ONE PHONE ONLY. You CANNOT use the same Viber account in a different phone because it’s connected to the number.
Stay as far away as you can from them. Don’t touch them with a ten foot pole. We will show you some REAL methods you can use to spy on Viber. Jump to the methods section for more.
Wondering if you can read their Viber messages REMOTELY without PHYSICAL access to their phone?
No matter what some scammers might tell you, reading someone’s Viber messages remotely without any PHYSICAL access to their phone is just impossible.
With spy apps, you will be able to configure them in a way that you will only have to access the target phone once and then they will remotely monitor Viber messages.
HOWEVER, you will still need to have access to their phone AT LEAST once.
Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying and should not be trusted.
The only FREE way to spy on Viber is to take advantage of its own systems

Viber may not be hackable but you can still exploit its own services to spy on others. As many of you will already be aware, Viber can be used in tablets and PCs on top of mobile phones.
So the first free way to read someone else’s Viber messages is to get their phone and scan a QR code on your tablet or your PC.
This is what a QR code looks like:
The process is more or less the same but we will go through it in a lot of detail so there’s no confusion.
The other, more restrictive method is to email their Viber chat history (but not future ones) to yourself.

Here’s how to EASILY read their Viber messages online on your PC/Mac
You will need to have the target phone on your hands and be able to access Viber. So if the phone is protected by a password or a pattern, then you will need to know them so you can unlock the phone.
- Level of difficulty: Easy
- Chance of getting caught: Extremely low (As long as they don’t check if Viber is active on other devices. Look at this question for more).
- Price: Free
- Time required: Approximately 5 minutes
Now here’s what you need to do:
- Go to the official Viber Downloads page.
- Select your platform: Windows, Mac, or Linux. If you are on Windows 10, click on the Get it on Windows 10 button which will instantly open the Windows Store. In all other cases, just click on Get Viber.
- Regardless of your platform, the process is the same. Open the app to continue.
- Enter your phone number. It will say that a code will be sent to that phone. That’s not actually true so don’t worry about it.
- You will be asked to scan the QR code. To do that, open Viber on the target phone, open the menu, and select the QR Code option. Sometimes, the app might open automatically to the QR scan mode so you won’t have to do it manually.
- Scan the QR code on your PC using the target phone.
- You should now be able to see Viber messages on the PC app.
And this is how to EASILY read their Viber messages on your tablet
The same things apply here. You will need to have the target phone in your hands, unlocked, before you can do this.

- Chance of getting caught: Extremely low (As long as they don’t check if Viber is active on other devices.

And follow these steps:
- Install Viber on your Android tablet or your iPad.
- Open the app.
- Select Continue.
- Enter the phone number of the person you want to spy on.
- Allow whatever permissions Viber asks.
- Scan the QR code using the target phone.
- Viber should now sync in your tablet.
Can’t scan the QR code since your camera is broken?
If you can, jump to the next section.
Don’t worry, you can still spy on Viber even if your camera is not working. Click here to find out how.
Scanning the QR code isn’t the only way to activate Viber on a PC or a tablet. The following method works on PCs, Android tablets, and iPads in exactly the same way.
- Level of difficulty: Easy
- Chance of getting caught: Low
- Price: Free
- Time required: Approximately 5 minutes
- Open the Viber app on your tablet or PC.
- When the app asks you to scan the QR code, click on Can’t scan?
- You will see a screen like below. Just click on Copy to continue.
- What you just copied is a secret identification key. You must send this as an email or a message to the target phone.
- Once the email or message arrives on the target phone, tap on the link.
- Tap on Open.
- Select the Approve option.
- Tap on Yes.
- It’s done, you should now see their Viber messages on your tablet or PC.
If you are just interested in reading up on their Viber chat history (but not future ones) then you can just send yourself an email which will contain conversation backups. Note that these will contain ONLY TEXT.
- Level of difficulty: Easy
- Chance of getting caught: Extremely low
- Price: Free
- Time required: Approximately 2 minutes
Keep in mind that you CAN’T send as a backup:
- Contacts list
- Public Accounts
- Images you have received
- Hidden/ secret chats message history
- Outgoing photos and videos (those you have sent to others)
- File content sent to you through Viber
- Any unsent messages Group likes and settings
- Conversation settings
You also can’t restore backup history to ANY devices with this method.
Here’s how to email
THEIR message history to yourselfThis process is the same in both Android phones and the iPhone.
- Open Viber on their phone.
- Open the Menu.
- Go to the Settings.
- Tap on the Calls and Messages menu.
- Select the Email message history option.
- Depending on how many messages and pictures that Viber account has, this process might take a little while. When it’s done, you will have the option to send the created file via email, so enter your address and send it.
The file you will receive is a ZIP file. Windows 10 and macOS can open these kinds of files without any extra software. If you are on another platform (like Windows 7), then download and install 7-Zip to open the file.
Inside that ZIP file you will multiple spreadsheets, each linked to one person. Inside the spreadsheet you will find the text conversations.
If photos and videos were sent, the spreadsheet will simply say Photo Message or Video Message.
The final option you have is to pay for an app like mSpy, but you will need to have access to their phone, and it will need to be rooted or jailbroken
Spying apps like mSpy allow you to instantly monitor Viber messages, pictures, and videos on the target phone. HOWEVER, it has to be a rooted Android or a jailbroken iPhone.

With this method, you can even spy on Viber’s SECRET CHATS. This is the ONLY method that allows you to do this. Even if you sync Viber to a PC or a tablet (which we explained earlier), you will NOT be able to access secret chats.
Again, you will need to have access to their phones and if it’s not rooted or jailbroken, then you will have to do this yourself.

Some things to do
BEFORE you can install mSpyOnce again, I will urge you to understand that the target phone needs to be ROOTED or JAILBROKEN. There’s no other way.
mSpy offers a service called mAssistance where they can root or jailbreak your phone remotely. The cost for that service is $43.99.
Now here’s what you must do:
- Visit the purchase options page for mSpy. select one option from the Premium tier, and click on Buy Now.
- Choose whether you want to include Phone Support or the mAssistance services in your package. Make sure you enter a valid email address during the purchase.
- mSpy will now send you a link with login information to the Control Panel, something you will need to install mSpy and monitor Viber.
Installing mSpy on already rooted smartphone

Here’s how to install mSpy on an
ALREADY ROOTED Android phone- Open the Settings.
- Go to the Security options.
- Turn on the toggle for the Unknown sources option and confirm the warning.

- Choose whether you want to hide or keep the icon. It’s useless, so feel free to hide it.

- Go to the mSpy Control Panel. In a matter of 20 minutes or less, you should be able to see incoming and outgoing Viber messages, images, and videos.

Can I spy on Secret Chats?
Yes, but only on a jailbroken iPhone or rooted Android phone using a spy app like mSpy. There’s no other way to spy on Secret Chats.
Should I hire a hacker to spy on my partner’s/children’s Viber?
No, you absolutely should not.
Hackers do exist, but they exist in the deepest corners of the web. You will not be able to find them easily, and no one who advertises themselves as a hacker on YouTube and such sites is legitimate.
Is spying on Viber legal?
It’s legal to spy on the Viber of your children. If you want to spy on your partner, you need their consent. Otherwise, you have to check the laws of your country.
Viber messages are not synced from the target phone to my PC/tablet. What can I do?
The first step is to reinstall the app on the tablet or PC. Then, make sure you wait for a while because sometimes it will not sync until a new message is sent/received.
Can I listen to Viber calls?
No, you can’t. With all of the methods we have detailed here, however, you will be able to access call history so you can see time, dates, duration, contact number, and so forth.

Can you offer any guidance?
Can I view someone’s Viber chats without installing any software on their phone?
Yes you can, by using the QR scan methods we talked about. The only time you will need to install software is if you want to spy on their Secret Chats too.
How do I know if someone is reading my Viber messages?
The easiest thing to do is to check if your Viber is connected anywhere else other than your phone. Here’s how to check:
- Open Viber on your phone.
- Open the Menu.
- Go to the Settings.
- Open the Account section.
- Tap on Desktop and Tablets.
You will now see whether your Viber is connected to other devices or not, along with other information like when your account was last used and in which location it was used.
The other thing you can do is look at the read receipts.
If you see an opened message that you don’t remember reading, then maybe someone else opened that message instead.
I suspect my partner is reading my Viber messages. What can I do?
If you think that someone is spying on your Viber, here’s what to do.
First, follow the method I demonstrated above and see if they’re reading your Viber messages on their PC or tablet. If they are, tap on the Deactivate option while you are in that menu (see the screenshot from previous question for guidance).
Other than that, you can:
- Change your phone’s password.
- Never give them your phone again.
- Use Hidden Chats.
