How to tell who viewed your instagram video

How to See Who Viewed Your Instagram Videos in 2 Ways

  • You can't see who views your Instagram profile, but you can see who views stories and videos.
  • For Instagram stories, you can see exactly who viewed your story while it's still live.
  • For video posts, you can only see the total number of views and users who've liked the posts.

While you can't see who viewed your Instagram profile, there are two ways you can track the viewers of video content you post on Instagram.

To see who viewed a video on your Instagram story, you'll have to tap the story while it's still live. The total number will appear in the bottom left hand corner. Tap to scroll and view the names of all the users who've watched the story.

For a video posted to your profile feed, tap the label underneath the post. Unfortunately, you can only view the total number of views but not the individual user names. You can, however, view the users who have liked it and, thus, have viewed it.

Here's how to see who viewed your Instagram videos.

Can you see who views your Instagram?

Instagram offers no way to see who has visited your profile.

While the list of Instagram profile visits is hidden, you can get a pretty good idea of who has been checking you out when they interact with one of your stories or video posts.

How to see who viewed one of your Instagram stories

1. Open Instagram on your mobile device.

2. Tap on Your Story – the icon with your profile picture – in the top left hand corner. You can also access your story from your profile page. Both will show a colored ring around your circular profile picture.

5. In the details, you'll see the total number of views listed again at the very top; the individual viewers' names are not accessible. Scroll the list to see the names of everyone who liked the video, or use the search bar at the top to save time and search for a specific person.

How to See Who Viewed Your Videos on Instagram

Instagram is a very powerful tool to reach people, whether you are using a personal account or a business one. If you utilize Instagram to grow your company or your audience, you need to be optimizing your performance on the platform, and that means collecting data. One of the most important pieces of data is how many people see your posts and watch your videos.

Checking the basic popularity of a video is simple. For example, you can see how popular an Instagram video is just by checking out its plays/views or follows. You can then assess how well it has performed with your audience by comparing those views to other uploaded videos.

How to Check Plays/Views on Instagram Reels

By default, Instagram Reels lets you see how many times your videos were played/viewed. Views is now known as “Plays” when it comes to Reels. The process for checking the play count on one of your Reels is fairly simple.

  1. Go to your profile by clicking the “profile icon” button on the bottom right.
  2. Select the video that you would like to check the view count.
  3. Scroll to the bottom to view the number of “Likes” it has. Tap on “## likes,” where “##” denotes a number, to view the number of plays it has.

The “### plays” count (formerly views) denotes how many individual times the Reels video got viewed for at least 3 seconds. It’s important to note that video loops also count. The same person can watch the video several times. Your views also count towards the number of plays.

Note: You can’t find view counts for videos that were uploaded before November 19, 2015.

How to Check Views of an Instagram Story

Aside from Reels, you can upload videos as an Instagram Story. Stories can be viewed by your followers for 24 hours. After that, they automatically disappear, and they get sent to your archive. For stories, the term “Views” still gets used—not “Plays” as it does for Reels.

To check the number of views on your IG Story video, follow these steps:

  1. On the “Home” page, Tap on “Your Story” in the upper left-hand corner.
  2. While your IG Story plays, tap on the “Activity” icon in the bottom-left corner.
  3. An “eye” icon appears, showing the number of views. To see who actually viewed your IG Story, check out the “Viewers” section on the bottom half of the screen.

The advantage of posting a video through Instagram’s Your Story is that you can see both the total number of views you have and who viewed it. Replays do not count as views, and viewing it yourself also does not count as a view.

How to Check Your Video Views in an Instagram Business Account

To get serious about your Instagram account, you need to convert to or create an Instagram business profile. This action gives you a much wider range of analytical tools than a regular account, including Instagram Insights. From there, you can see the number of views your IG video has accumulated.

How to Find Your Metric

Finding your metrics is simple:

  1. Tap on your “profile” icon in the bottom-right section.
  2. Select the video you want check views on.
  3. Tap on “View Insights” below the video. The insights page loads where you can see all the data for your video and check its views.

The view count is the most basic measure of how popular your video is. As previously mentioned, Instagram views are recorded after three seconds of seeing time, which helps determine how well a video does. If you’re spending time and money on producing good quality content, you need to know whether it’s hitting the spot or not. Instagram Insights metrics allow you to quantify the success of your content. It also provides impressions, reach, and followers.

In closing, seeing how many times your Instagram video got viewed/played is a valuable tool, especially for those doing it professionally or promoting their business. Seeing who viewed your IG vieo is also beneficial, but that only works for Instagram Reels.

When you often post videos on Instagram, you may be interested in who watched them. So you can find out which audience perceives your content better, and in the future you will shoot more videos adapted to the audience. Therefore, let's look at how to find out who watched your videos on the social network.

How to find out who viewed your videos in the Instagram feed

Unfortunately, the Instagram functionality does not allow you to see who exactly watched your videos in the feed or Reels.

But there are two "freelance" ways to do this - make a repost from the feed to stories or use third-party utilities.

How to find out who watched the Instagram video through stories

In the first case, you will display through the story that you posted the video to the feed. For this you need:

  1. Go to Instagram and open your personal profile.
  2. Upload the video to the feed, subscribe and add hashtags for promotion among the target audience.
  3. Open the post with the clip and click on the airplane icon next to the comments. You can do the same if you go to the IGTV section.
  4. Select "Add post to your story".
  5. Decorate stories with emojis or stickers, you can add text as well.
  6. Post a story.

When the story is published, you will be able to see through Instagram statistics who went to the publication, interacted with the story and went to the profile.

The statistics will display who exactly these people are. Therefore, you can roughly understand who viewed your video content in the feed the most. If you can't find the stats, it's likely that you haven't connected a professional account. To do this:

  • Go to the settings and open the "Account" item.
  • Click on the inscription "Switch to a professional account". If you have connected your Facebook to Instagram, you can do it without any problems. If not, you will have to link the social network to Facebook.
  • Check in the settings what type of activity you have and what kind of page - author's or for business.
  • Save the settings and then check the statistics. Data will begin to be collected after 2-3 days of activity in the profile.

In statistics, you need to go to the analysis of activity in stories, and then select the desired parameter and view data on it.

How to find out who watched the video in the Instagram feed through applications

New applications are regularly released in the AppStore or Google Play, which guarantee that they will show all the activity on the Instagram profile.

We, like Instagram admins, do not recommend using unverified programs.

And there is one service that will help you find out more information about the actions of other users and which I would like to recommend - Instaspy!

This service will tell you who liked whom, who followed whom and many other interesting details about the user's life on Instagram. The program has been tested by us and is 100% safe for your profile.

Follow our link to get 3 test days of Instaspy with all features for only 1 ruble.

How to find out who watched Reels videos Instagram

A new format has recently appeared on Instagram - Reels or short videos that resemble TikTok clips.

Two types of information about such content are available to the author of the videos - who liked and who commented. Who watched the video, the social network also does not reflect.

But you can collect an audience by likes and comments - it's especially good if the number of views matches the likes. Then you will get accurate information about the viewers.

There is no specific feature on Instagram yet to see who has watched your video content. Therefore, it remains to use such tricks.

It is unlikely that such a function will be introduced at all - in TikTok, for example, they still do not show who viewed, but only those who left comments or likes on the clip.

How to see who watched a video on Instagram, how to find out the number of views

Many users would like to see who watched their video on Instagram. This will allow not only to satisfy your own curiosity, but also to understand which direction to choose to promote your account. Is it possible to see the secret fans of a page on a social network? How to do it? You will find answers to these questions in the text of our article.

Why Instagram doesn't display video views

The official Instagram app allows you to view your post and profile statistics for free. Namely, to see who watched photos, videos and even stories.

Among other things, the total number of views of your records in the "Statistics" section will be available. The number of visits and other interactions with your page is also noted there.

If this information is not displayed, then there is most likely a reason for this. Namely:

  • old program version;
  • low-quality Internet connection;
  • is not the correct account type.

And of course, there is a solution for each of them:

  1. Update the Instaset software via the AppStore or Google Market, or delete it and reinstall it on your phone.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi or catch the moment when your speed is at its "peak".
  3. Go to the "Settings" menu and the "Accounts" section, scroll to the very bottom of the screen and tap on the "Switch to a professional account" button.

Good to know. After switching the type of account, wait a while for the analytics section to “accumulate” a little. Otherwise, empty tabs will appear before you again.

How to reveal visitors who viewed publics

To find out who watched the video and how many times it will take:

  1. Pick up a tablet or smartphone based on the Android or iOS operating system.
  2. Unlock the screen and launch the Instagram social networking application.
  3. Log in to your account using a standard login (nickname/email address/mobile number) and password.
  4. Click on the "person" icon in the bottom menu.
  5. Click on any prominent publication.
  6. Scroll down and select View statistics.

Here you can evaluate the following information:

  • number of likes and comments;
  • how many times subscribers shared this post or bookmarked it;
  • number of profile visits through this entry;
  • impressions and reach.

The values of the last item just mean how many times your video has been viewed for more than 3 seconds.

Note. You can look at the statistics not only under the clip, but also under the photos.

Is it possible to find out the names of all visitors who watched the video

Let's move on to the main question of the article - can you see who watched the video in your post? The answer is unequivocal - no. Instagram developers try to maintain a strict privacy policy among their customers. After all, how can you feel free when all your actions are shown on the page of the idol.

Despite this, you will be able to note:

  • the number of hits;
  • list of users who liked the entry in the feed.

If everything is clear with the first point, then in order to see who rated your video, follow a simple algorithm of actions:

  1. Go to Instagram and go through the "little man" to your profile.
  2. Tap on the appropriate video.
  3. Scroll down and click on "Like...(number)".

Done. Now you can see who liked the material you posted.

Are there alternative ways?

Of course, there are alternative ways to find out who watched the video on Instagram:

  • through your story;
  • broadcasting live;
  • using third-party utilities.

To understand how they work, let's look at each option in more detail.

The first step-by-step instruction will be as follows:

  1. Go to the Instaset program and log in.
  2. Swipe the screen to the right. This will allow you to switch to story mode.
  3. Shoot a new clip or upload one from the gallery.
  4. Edit it: apply filters, text or various stickers.
  5. Click on "Recipient" and choose who will see the story.
  6. Confirm the publication with the "Share" button.

After some time, the statistics we need will be displayed under the 15-second clip. To estimate the number of impressions, turn on the story and swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

For your information. If the “Private profile” option is checked, then only followers will be able to see your story.

In the second one, everything is a little simpler:

  1. Enter the story mode.
  2. Scroll the bottom menu to the left to "Live".
  3. Confirm your decision with the "On air" button.

During the broadcast, your viewers will be displayed in the lower left corner.

The third option is designed to track the "fans" who visited your page and viewed the published video clips, you will have to use special programs. The AppStore and Google Market are just bursting with similar ones, but Instagram developers do not advise downloading them.
